Chapter 24 He Didn't Come to Condemn Her

At this moment, the sound of footsteps came from outside the door. Feng Tingshen had returned.

"Dad!"

"Yeah." Feng Tingshen entered the room and walked towards the bedside.

Seeing this, Rong Ci wanted to put Feng Jingxin down to make room for Feng Tingshen, but Feng Jingxin didn't want to leave. Leaning in her arms, she stretched out her hands towards Feng Tingshen.

Feng Tingshen leaned over and picked Feng Jingxin up.

When he picked up Feng Jingxin, he got very close. Rong Ci could smell the familiar male perfume on him.

However, besides the familiar scent, a delicate female perfume smell also wafted into her nostrils. This perfume smell was the same as the one she had smelled on Lin Wu at the dinner party today.

Rong Ci turned her face away, stood up, and distanced herself from Feng Tingshen until she could no longer smell those scents.

Feng Tingshen's hand, adorned with an exquisite wristwatch, gently touched Feng Jingxin's fair forehead. Then he looked at Rong Ci, "What's her temperature now? Has it dropped a bit?"

Rong Ci had to repeat what the doctor said, "It has changed from a high fever to a low fever, but it's still not very stable. There's still a possibility of a recurrence."

"Okay."

Feng Tingshen sat down by the bed, holding Feng Jingxin. Feng Jingxin nestled in his arms, not wanting to get down, but she wrinkled her small brows, "Dad, your coat is so stiff..."

Feng Tingshen took off his coat and reached out to hand it to Rong Ci. Rong Ci reflexively took it and held it in her arms. It was only when she clearly smelled the two intertwined perfume scents on the clothes that she suddenly remembered that she and Feng Tingshen were about to divorce.

In the past, she would have thought that being able to hold his coat like this was a kind of happiness, a happiness that she was reluctant to let go of easily.

But now, she casually put the coat aside and said to Feng Jingxin, "I'll go downstairs to cook some porridge."

With both Feng Tingshen and Rong Ci at home, Feng Jingxin's spirit improved a lot. Hearing Rong Ci say this, she nodded obediently, "Okay, thank you, Mom."

Rong Ci smiled, then turned and left Feng Jingxin's room.

Watching her leaving figure, Feng Tingshen's gaze fell on the suit coat she had placed on the back of the chair.

After starting to cook the porridge, Rong Ci began to prepare other seasonings.

By the time she washed her hands and came out of the kitchen, twenty minutes had passed.

Rong Ci hesitated for a moment, then went upstairs.

When she reached the second floor and turned around, she saw Feng Tingshen standing by the window at the end of the corridor, talking on the phone, "The fever has subsided. Don't worry."

Was he talking to Lin Wu? Did Lin Wu really worry about Feng Jingxin?

Rong Ci withdrew her gaze and entered Feng Jingxin's room.

Feng Jingxin had already finished the IV drip and fallen asleep.

She had sweated a lot, and Aunt Liu was carefully wiping the sweat off her.

Seeing Rong Ci, Aunt Liu quickly gave up her position and handed her the towel - she thought Rong Ci would take care of Feng Jingxin herself.

After all, Rong Ci had always done so in the past. She would take care of everything related to Feng Jingxin and Feng Tingshen personally.

Rong Ci shook her head.

Aunt Liu was a bit surprised but didn't think much of it. She then gently and quietly changed Feng Jingxin into dry clothes.

Rong Ci sat down on the sofa in the room. After Aunt Liu finished, she asked, "Has the doctor left?"

"Yeah."

"What did the doctor say? Will the fever come back?"

She was considering whether to stay overnight here.

"The doctor said it probably won't."

"That's good."

Since Feng Jingxin was out of danger, she most likely didn't need to stay overnight here tonight.

There was still porridge cooking in the pot. After sitting for a while, Rong Ci went downstairs. Aunt Liu was in the kitchen and said, "I'll watch the fire. You must be tired, madam. Sit down and take a rest."

Rong Ci walked out of the kitchen and saw Feng Tingshen sitting on the sofa in the living room, reading a newspaper.

Seeing her, Feng Tingshen glanced over, then turned his attention back to the newspaper.

Rong Ci paused.

In the past, she would definitely have sat over and tried to spend more time with him without disturbing him.

But now...

There was nothing left for them to talk about.

Thinking of this, she turned around and went upstairs. Feng Tingshen didn't stop her.

However, Rong Ci was a bit puzzled.

She had thought that he would definitely come to condemn her for "bullying" Lin Wu with Yu Moxun.

But he didn't say anything...

Just as Rong Ci went upstairs, Feng Jingxin woke up. Looking listless, she came out of the room to find her, "Mom, I'm hungry. Is the porridge ready?"

"Almost." Rong Ci asked Aunt Liu, "Is she still having a fever?"

Aunt Liu smiled, "No, she isn't."

Rong Ci was relieved. Then she turned and entered the kitchen. After five or six minutes, she poked her head out and said to Feng Jingxin, "Xinxin, the porridge is ready."

Rong Ci filled a bowl of porridge. Looking towards the door, she found that Feng Tingshen had followed.

Feng Jingxin said, "Mom, why is there only one bowl? Dad is going to eat with us too."

Rong Ci didn't know that Feng Tingshen would also eat. Before she could say anything, Aunt Liu smiled and said, "I'll go get a bowl."

Rong Ci didn't plan to eat herself, but she was used to cooking a bit more. Since Feng Jingxin didn't eat much, there would be enough for her and Feng Tingshen to have some.

After filling the porridge, Rong Ci sat down and quietly ate her porridge.

Feng Tingshen had taken off his wristwatch. His long and slender fingertips held a spoon, gently stirring the porridge. His elegant demeanor was quite pleasing to the eye.

Feng Jingxin took a bite, then closed her eyes in satisfaction, "I haven't eaten this for a long time. It smells so good."

Aunt Liu smiled, "Now that you're back in the country, you can have it whenever you want."

"Yeah!"

Rong Ci heard this and paused, but didn't say anything.

Feng Tingshen was sitting opposite her and also remained silent.

Feng Jingxin was very happy. As if thinking of something, she coquettishly said to Rong Ci, "Mom, can you sleep with me tonight?"

Rong Ci was about to refuse, but seeing that her face was still pale and bloodless, she agreed, "Okay."

Feng Jingxin only ate one bowl, and Feng Tingshen didn't eat much either. There was still porridge left in the pot when they left the dining room.

Feng Jingxin loved to be clean and insisted on taking a bath even though she had a cold.

Rong Ci was afraid she would catch a cold, so she went in to supervise her.

After Feng Jingxin took a bath, Rong Ci hesitated for a moment, then turned and went to the master bedroom.

Feng Tingshen wasn't there.

Rong Ci thought that her things had been cleared away by Feng Tingshen's people.

But when she went inside, she found that the bedroom was the same as when she left.

Some of her daily items, such as slippers, hand cream, facial cream, and water cup, were still in the positions she remembered, without any change.

It was as if she had never left.

Rong Ci entered the cloakroom inside. Pushing open the sliding door, she found that her things in there hadn't decreased either.

However, it might be because they hadn't officially divorced yet, and he didn't want to alarm the old lady, so Feng Tingshen hadn't asked anyone to move her things.

She composed herself, took a set of pajamas and a towel, then left the master bedroom and went to Feng Jingxin's room.

Feng Jingxin was sitting on the bed, playing with a tablet. Seeing the clothes in her hands, she was puzzled, "Mom, are you going to take a bath in my room?"

Rong Ci replied, "Yes."

Not long after she entered the bathroom, Feng Tingshen entered Feng Jingxin's room.
