Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [17]

Coming to the Warhammer world, the only ones who would actively attack the Tyranid swarm head-on, apart from the cheerful Orks, seem to be no one else.

But there's no choice! He needed to farm points from these bugs, and Red King had to act like a predator—after all, the Tyranids were just food.

Under Rhodes' command, Red King stepped out from the mountain where he had been hiding and launched a direct assault on the Tyranid swarm.

As his massive body charged forward, small tremors followed. The 26,000-ton giant running across the ground caused collapses and an overwhelming presence—it was truly formidable.

Even the shockwaves from his charge were strong enough to tear some of the Tyranids to pieces. Rhods, hiding in a distant cave, could feel the earth shaking violently.

Beside him, Elena was so terrified that she curled up into a ball, clasped her hands together, and kept chanting:

"Emperor protect us! Emperor protect us!"

In response to Red King's aggressive assault, the Tyranids only sent waves of cannon fodder to fill the battlefield, without deploying any high-tier units.

Farming cannon fodder didn't yield much system gold, but at least there was still some income. In the blink of an eye, a few more hours passed.

With no high-tier Tyranids attacking, Red King faced no pressure at all against the lower-level Tyranids.

These bugs couldn't even break through Red King's defenses. It was like a grown man stomping on a swarm of ants—efficiently massacring the Tyranid forces.

Time quickly passed, and before long, it was deep into the night. At this point, Rhodes had accumulated 14,000 system gold.

Red King had not yet reached his limit, but Rhodes didn't want to wait any longer. He spent 3,000 points to strengthen Red King's body again, increasing his weight by another 3,000 tons.

Total weight: 29,000 tons. Height: 49 meters. At this point, Red King's skin was now countless times harder than steel.

Forget the lower-tier Tyranids—even Tyranid Warriors or even Tyranid Executioners couldn't break through his defense anymore.

By now, Rhodes had been awake for nearly 40 hours without sleep. His body had reached its limit, and his mind was dizzy and sluggish.

Rhodes bit his lip, trying to force himself to stay awake, but the overwhelming exhaustion was impossible to resist.

Seeing that the Hospitaller Sister beside him had already fallen asleep on the ground, Rhodes leaned back as well. Just a short rest… maybe one hour…

In the middle of the night, the sleepy young Sister Elena noticed Rhodes sleeping in the corner. She sighed helplessly.

She picked up a thick military coat, walked over, and gently covered Rhodes with it before returning to her spot.

From the beginning, she never had any malice toward this civilian. She had only wanted to offer him a peaceful release in a gentle way—after all, the horrors of the Tyranid swarm were beyond what an ordinary civilian could comprehend.

But now, the swarm had been driven back by that giant beast outside. Everyone now had a chance to survive, so of course, she wouldn't do such a thing anymore!

A Hospitaller saves lives—not takes them.

Those who casually execute civilians and revel in killing are Battle Sisters, not Hospitallers.

Rhodes slept soundly, in a deep and comfortable rest.

As faint sunlight shone on his face, Rhodes jolted awake and sat up in a panic.

"Shit! I actually fell asleep!"

"Damn it, Rhodes! This is the dangerous Warhammer world! How could you let yourself sleep?!"

"You're awake," came the voice of the young Hospitaller beside him. "Don't worry. That big guy outside is incredibly strong. The Tyranid swarm has been driven far away. It's even chasing them down. We can only see it using our observation instruments now."

Rhodes' heart pounded. She didn't kill me while I was asleep? That was close… real close!

He had only planned to rest for an hour, but damn it—he had fallen asleep.

"I already told you, I have no intention of harming you. I even protected you. When two Astra Militarum soldiers came by earlier to deliver water, I specifically hid you behind me so they wouldn't find you!"

"You must be thirsty. Here, have some water."

Elena handed Rhodes a cup of fresh water.

There were plenty of military rations in the cave, but no fresh water. While eating the rations could provide some hydration, it wasn't as satisfying as real water.

Earlier in the morning, some Astra Militarum soldiers had found a nearby water source and brought some back. Elena had deliberately set aside a cup just for Rhodes.

At this moment, Rhodes' lips were parched and cracked. He nodded, took the cup, and drank it all in one go. Instantly, he felt an overwhelming sense of relief and refreshment.

After 40 hours without a single sip of water, this was pure bliss.

"Thank you! What's the situation outside?" Rhodes asked as he returned the empty cup.

"The swarm is at least 200 miles away now. It looks like they don't want to fight that big guy at all. They've been retreating and avoiding battle. For now, we're safe."

Elena smiled as she spoke.

The Tyranid swarm has been driven back by that giant beast...

Rhodes nodded and opened the system interface. Through the Red King's perspective, he saw the massive beast relentlessly chasing down the Tyranid forces.

The Tyranids had completely given up on fighting Red King.

Checking his system gold again, he was shocked to see that it had increased to 24,000+ points.

"Damn, I gained over 10,000 points while sleeping? Looks like I was out for a long time."

Thankfully, the swarm had chosen to retreat. If they had launched a full-scale counterattack, Red King might have been taken down.

"How long was I asleep?"

"About fourteen Terran hours. It's already noon now."

"Thank you! By the way, I never got your name. I'm Rhodes."

"Nice to meet you, Rhodes. I'm Elena. I was born in an Agri-world and only joined the Sisters Hospitaller less than a year ago."

"Thanks for the water, Sister Elena."

"Rhodes, I think we've officially met now, haven't we?" Elena smiled. "Honestly, I'm curious about you. A civilian who doesn't speak High Gothic yet possesses such pure human genes—untainted by any corruption, ancient beyond belief... Rhodes, where exactly did you come from?"

Before, when the Tyranid threat loomed, they had all been on the verge of death, so no one had the time to ask about Rhodes' origins. But now, she wanted to know.

Who exactly was this mysterious man?

He wasn't just some random civilian from this planet—after all, he knew about the horrors of Chaos, something a simple civilian shouldn't be aware of.

"You want to know my true identity?"

"Fine. At this point, I won't hide it anymore."

"To be honest… I'm half a Primarch!"
