Rhodes' lips curled into a slight smile as he nodded and shook hands amicably with Lacas.
However, throughout the entire interaction, Rhodes kept his armor's protective energy shield activated to ensure that not a single strand of his hair fell into this guy's hands.
After all, these damn Haemonculus were audacious enough to even attempt cloning the Emperor himself. Rhodes was genuinely afraid that one day these guys might suddenly produce a clone of him.
Though it wouldn't have a major impact, it would still be extremely disgusting!
"Your energy shield is unique, but being cautious is indeed a good thing," Lacas remarked.
It seemed this new associate was quite knowledgeable about the industry, knowing to take precautions.
These Haemonculus only needed a mere handshake or a slight touch to collect tiny fragments of one's body, which they could then use for cloning.
"Hahaha! Likewise! Likewise!" Rhodes laughed.
In Dark Eldar territory, he dared not let his guard down for even a moment.
"Heh! Well then, let's talk business. Besides purchasing biological cloning and flesh modification equipment, do you need any other services from us? We offer resurrection services after death.
And it's not just some low-level cloning revival—it's a true flesh-and-blood resurrection. Or, if you'd prefer, life-extension surgery. We also specialize in biological augmentation and enhancements."
"My family happens to be quite skilled in these areas as well. This time, I've come to purchase some of the latest Eldar technology to bring back for our master craftsmen to study," Rhodes explained.
"I see, understood! Feel free to browse," Lacas nodded.
Rhodes signaled subtly to Balt behind him, who immediately understood and entered the room to inspect the Haemonculus' laboratory, carefully examining the various technological devices inside.
"Everything here is the best in the entire galaxy. My dear colleague, I can tell from your scent that you are an expert in this field as well," Lacas, squinted at Balt and smiled.
"I'm fairly knowledgeable. I need some extra-large incubation chambers—preferably around 100 meters tall, capable of cultivating giant organisms. Do you have any?" Balt inquired.
"You truly are an expert. In the entire galaxy, only I have such chambers. However, creating large-scale lifeforms through flesh modification is extremely difficult and often leads to complications."
"That's my problem to deal with! Additionally, I need a complete set of cloning equipment, flesh cultivation devices, and gene extraction tools," Balt continued selecting his equipment.
Each selected item was immediately paid for by Vect.
"Money isn't my primary concern. If possible, I'd like to trade for something else," Lacas said.
Hearing this, Vect breathed a sigh of relief. He had already spent a massive sum, and if he could trade with monster enhancement serums instead, he could save some funds.
"Currently, I'm only selling genetically modified monster enhancement serums. If you're interested, I can offer some to you."
"No problem! I'll take them all! If you have anything strange or unusual, I want it," Lacas said, immediately intrigued.
After some bargaining, Lacas ended up ordering 10,000 doses of monster gene enhancement serums from Rhodes—half from Guigass and the other half from Melba.
Lacas wasn't picky and liked to collect a little of everything. Additionally, he and Rhodes agreed that if any new monster-enhanced warrior serums became available in the future, Rhodes would sell them to him first.
Several hours passed, and Balt finally finished selecting all the equipment he needed, nodding toward Rhodes in confirmation.
"Mr. Loki, if you ever need any flesh modification or resurrection services in the future, feel free to contact me. I'll give you a special discount," Lacas offered.
Their resurrection technology was inherited from the ancient Eldar Empire and passed down by the Eldar gods. Some of their forbidden knowledge even originated from the Goddess of Life herself. This was no mere cloning revival technique.
"Hahaha, of course! Absolutely!" Rhodes bid farewell to Lacas with a friendly wave.
"Lord Loki, now that everything here is settled, I'll take my leave. In one month, I'll send my people to collect the goods," Vect said, wiping the sweat from his forehead, his hand trembling slightly.
Today had cost him a fortune—almost as much as two perfect resurrection services.
And that was with part of the payment being settled through product exchanges. Otherwise, his losses would have been even greater.
"No problem, Mr. Vect. In one month, have your people bring the payment. We'll trade fairly—goods for money, nothing owed," Rhodes said with a smile.
Not only had he secured all the biochemical research equipment Balt needed, but Rhodes had also stirred up trouble at the Kabal Blackheart's stronghold, taking down over 10,000 Dark Eldar in the process.
He had also earned tens of thousands of gold coins, leaving him in an exceptionally good mood.
Vect's face darkened as he nodded slightly, then turned around and left immediately. He wasn't in a good mood today and planned to vent his frustration by torturing and killing a few slaves after returning.
"Lord Loki, you've truly impressed me today. I didn't expect you to possess such immense power," Lelith said, looking at Rhodes.
To be able to suppress Vect and also have such cunning and strategy—this man could make a name for himself in Commorragh City.
Not only that, but he would thrive. She thought it was best to build a good relationship with him in advance.
"It's just because my family is powerful. All of this is thanks to them," Rhodes replied with a smile.
"Lord Loki, I've had a question I've wanted to ask you for a while. Would it be alright if I did so now?" Lelith asked.
"Lelith, please feel free to ask," Rhodes said with a smile.
"I'd like to know—how does your family survive in the world outside the Webway?
Are you following the Aeldari Craftword's methods, the Exodite's ways, or do you have some other means to avoid having your souls devoured by the Slaanesh?" Lelith asked.
If possible, she too wanted to roam freely in the galaxy and bask in the cheers of fans across the Milky Way, instead of being stuck in Commorragh City. She had already lived here for over ten thousand years. No matter how good a place was, staying there for ten millennia could get tiresome.
"Our family has some special methods, but they involve certain core secrets.
How about this—sometime in the future, I'll use this special method to take you outside for a little tour," Rhodes said.
As for how to prevent eldar from having their souls devoured by the Slaanesh, Rhodes was confident he'd have a solution in the future. But for now, he didn't have any effective methods.
Once the Ynnead was established, with the power of Yvraine, they could also avoid being devoured by the Slaanesh.
Alternatively, he could see what kind of strange and unique monsters he might summon later.
For the time being, however, Rhodes genuinely had no good solutions.
"Then it's a deal, Lord Loki! I'm looking forward to being able to roam freely across the galaxy and not just leaving for short periods.
Oh, by the way, I've already spoken to Yvraine. You'll be able to meet her soon!" Lelith said.
"Mm, I'm very much looking forward to it," Rhodes replied.
First, he thought, he should get acquainted with this future emissary for the newly awakened Eldar God Ynnead. After that, he needed to make a trip to the Imperium Capital, Terra.
...
After returning to the arena managed by Lelith, Rhodes brought Balt back to the spaceship.
As soon as they arrived, Balt eagerly returned to his lab, expanded his massive body, and began assembling equipment.
"So, how about it? With the equipment we got this time, can you create Zetton?" Rhodes asked.
"Hahaha! No problem at all, Master. Although the equipment isn't as good as what we used to have, it's sufficient.
It'll take about a month, but I'll be able to cultivate a Zetton—and not just any Zetton, but an enhanced version: Zetton II," Balt said excitedly.
Finally, he could show his master the true perfection of his creation.
"I think the original version of Zetton isn't bad either. How about making one of those instead?" Rhodes suggested.
Zetton II's combat performance was honestly a bit underwhelming. The original Zetton had the most impressive track record, and its classic design was much cooler!
"Master! The original Zetton can't defeat my Zetton II—I've tested this before.
Moreover, the equipment we have now can only produce one Zetton at a time. Are you sure you'd rather have the original Zetton than my Zetton II?"
Balt looked disappointed, his expression seemingly saying, Master, how could you doubt the combat strength of my Zetton II?
Zetton II completely outclassed Zetton I in terms of stats and had all of Zetton I's abilities. Its combat strength was sufficient.
"Fine. Make Zetton II," Rhodes said with a wave of his hand.
After all, he could always summon Zetton through his system. While Balt's creations could be controlled, they couldn't be system-enhanced.
The Zetton he summoned through the system would be better since it could be upgraded to forms like Zetton X or even Deathscythe Zetton in the future.
"Understood, Master! My Zetton II will not disappoint you," Balt said with a nod before diving headfirst into his lab to begin creating Zetton II.
