Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [198]

This was also an extremely challenging task for Cawl. The Sisters of Battle of the Imperium were an enormous force, and within the military, they were a formidable fighting power—second only to the Space Marines themselves.

Just imagine! If all the Sisters of Battle received the gene-seed of a female Primarch and were transformed into a new generation of Adepta Astartes Sisters, what a shocking event that would be.

However, creating female Astartes was extremely difficult. Fortunately, the most critical element—the problem of gene-seed—had already been solved.

"Go ahead and do it! In the Emperor's name, I'll persuade the Sisters of Battle to accept the transformation," Rhodes said.

With the Emperor's incarnation and the Emperor's psychic light, those Sisters of Battle would never defy Rhodes' will; they would gladly accept the new Astarte's transformation.

Belisarius Cawl nodded, taking out a specially designed needle given to him by Rhodes. The material was made from the metal used by the Officio Assassinorum, capable of easily piercing a Primarch's skin.

After drawing Elena's blood, Cawl injected it into the gene-seed cultivation machine.

Very quickly, a prototype gene-seed embryo was formed, just as in Rhodes' first experiment—it was indeed feasible.

"No problem, Lord Rhodes! And Lady Elena, your gene-seed is developing very successfully. I estimate it will be mature in just a few more days.

During this time, I'll carefully study the surgical transformation process. Once your gene-seed is mature, we'll select a Sister of Battle to undergo the Space Marine transformation surgery," Cawl nodded to Rhodes and Elena.

"Then I'll leave it to you, Archmagos. When the time comes, I'll go with Elena to personally persuade the Sisters of Battle.

I think some of the female soldiers from Cadia could also participate in this transformation," Rhodes said.

If the Sisters of Battle could be transformed, then so could the female soldiers from Cadia.

"Those Cadian soldiers are indeed brave. The male soldiers can undergo the surgery now, but for the female soldiers, we'll need to wait a bit longer.

Lord Rhodes, even though we now have the crucial gene-seed, creating female Astartes is still not easy.

This set of surgical procedures was designed for males. To create female Astartes Sisters, we must adjust the steps, and even improve some of the surgeries," Cawl said.

The new surgeries—Cawl's Furnace, the Hymn Gland, biotic muscles, and the skeletal reinforcement fluid—are not a problem.

The Space Marine transformation surgery must undergo minor changes and fine-tuning.

Thankfully, we now have medical pods; otherwise, this surgery would cost many lives before it could be perfected.

"You're not alone in this; I'll have Balt and Zett to assist you," Rhodes said.

"Those two are currently working on the Superbeast Project, and it's at a critical stage.

I think it's best not to disturb them, Lord Rhodes. It's only some minor surgery adjustments. I trust in my abilities," Cawl replied.

Since joining Rhodes' faction, he had learned much forbidden and advanced biology knowledge from those Golden Age scientists.

He had also participated in parts of the Superbeast Project, so he knew what those two were up to and felt it was best not to disturb them now.

"Alright then, I'll leave it to you, Cawl," Rhodes nodded.

Cawl nodded back, taking the developing gene-seed and some of Elena's blood samples back to his lab.

After Rhodes and Elena left the training room, they ran into the hurried Living Saint Celestine.

"What's wrong? Celestine, do you have something to report?" Rhodes asked, noticing the anxious look on the Living Saint's face.

"Lord Primarch! I have received a message from the Emperor. We must proceed immediately to the frozen world of Gleya; it's not far from Cadia.

There are people we need there. We can find someone capable of saving the gene-primarch," Living Saint Celestine said to Rhodes.

She had originally been comforting wounded Sisters of Battle and soldiers; now that everyone was safe and the Emperor's light was shining on them, they were out of danger.

Having escaped the threat of the Chaos fleet, this ship was incredibly powerful, and its stealth system could shake off Chaos pursuers in an instant.

"I understand! There are indeed important people on Gleya. I'll immediately dispatch a landing craft to bring them to us," Rhodes nodded.

According to the original timeline, Cawl and others acted as the rearguard, covering the retreat of the other Imperial armies, and ended up trapped in the Cadia sector.

Eventually, the Living Saint received the Emperor's guidance and led everyone to the frozen world Gleya, where they met the newly-formed Deathwatch.

Then, using the Deathwatch's webway, they traveled to a planet in the Macragge system, igniting the resurrection event of Guilliman.

But now, thanks to Rhodes' intervention, they had already escaped the Chaos fleet and could use the Harlequin's webway to travel directly to Macragge.

Rhodes' Slaaneshi Killer could try to extract Chaos energy, but they did not possess resurrection powers.

That energy would certainly kill Guilliman, so the safest method was to use the power of the Eldar Death God, Ynnead.

Speaking of which, it had been almost six months since he'd last seen Lelith, after their intimate session that night.

In the blink of an eye, nearly half a year had passed, and his giant monster fights had not been held for two months—something must have happened in Commorragh.

Rhodes had learned some things from the monsters Gomora and Miclas.

The Ynnari had been established more than a month ago, during a gladiatorial match between two giant monsters.

For some reason, Lelith suddenly fought Yvraine, and as Yvraine did not have Death God power, she was no match for the Arena Queen.

She was quickly defeated, pierced through the chest, and then the Eldar Death God Ynnead descended.

For the first time, the Death God demonstrated his power—control over life and death—to his Eldar followers.

Yvraine was successfully resurrected and became the prophet of the Death God.

At the instant the Death Prophet awakened, an unimaginably powerful psychic force erupted.

The Gate of Khaine in Commorragh was destroyed, a warp portal opened, and legions of Chaos daemons flooded the city.

Commorragh fell into chaos, and the two monsters helped fight some daemons.

However, they did not have the power to destroy the daemons, so they could not provide Rhodes with system gold coins.

But the monsters managed to stomp many Dark Eldar, giving Rhodes some gold coins.

Afterward, Lelith, for some unknown reason, even helped the resurrected Yvraine and led her gladiators to join Yvraine's forces in rebellion.

They escaped Commorragh's pursuit and went to an Ark World, searching for the five Crone Swords to revive the Necron Death God and enable the Eldar Death God to kill Slaanesh.

But honestly, Rhodes doubted whether the Eldar Death God could truly kill Slaanesh!

The four Chaos gods aren't that simple; back when Slaanesh was just born, he slaughtered all the Eldar gods single-handedly—his combat power was unimaginable.

Now, many Harlequins, Dark Eldar, Ark Eldar, Corsairs, and even Yvraine's former master had joined the Ynnari.

This time, Rhodes was considering recalling his giant monsters because they couldn't kill Dark Eldar for coins anymore.

He wouldn't just lend out his monsters for free; unless the Ynnari prophet paid a satisfactory reward.

Lelith didn't wait for him in Commorragh but chose to join the Ynnari. Rhodes was surprised—what had happened in the meantime?

"I will personally go. By the Emperor's will, that prophet must come to your ship," Living Saint Celestine said to Rhodes.

"Alright, I'll go with you to bring her back," Rhodes nodded.

The recently healed Custodian Guard, upon hearing this, volunteered to join the mission.

But Rhodes refused him; the golden-armored Custodian would bring great reassurance to the troops aboard the ship, so it was better for him to stay and boost morale.

Rhodes had a good impression of this ten-thousand-year-old Custodian; he was not as rigid as the modern Custodians.

After all, he was handpicked by the Emperor, so his personality must have suited the Emperor's preferences.

The Custodian truly saw Rhodes as the chosen one, as a gene-primarch.

This time, Rhodes planned to travel light, going with only Living Saint Celestine and the newly created female Primarch Elena to Gleya.

A small Pedan ship left the mothership, heading towards the frozen world in stealth mode.

...

Meanwhile, on the Chaos cruiser Vengeful Spirit, Abaddon's Chaos sorcerer revealed a terrifying prophecy to him.

A new gene-primarch had appeared, and one was about to be resurrected.

"What did you say? A new gene-primarch has appeared. And a primarch is about to be resurrected?" Abaddon asked with a grim expression.

"Great Warmaster, this is a prophecy—but it can still be prevented. You must hurry to the planet Gleya."
