Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [264]

On the other side, the Blood Angels Chapter and all of Rhodes' gene-sons piloted two small capital ships to the asteroid where Baton lay.

It was a small asteroid only a few kilometers in diameter; Baton's body lay there, with swarms of Tyranid bio-ships arriving simultaneously.

The Tyranids immediately deployed landing pods, and countless Tyranid ground units charged towards Baton's corpse.

"Dante, and Titus, I will send reinforcements to help you. Baton's body is very important. My Golden Age scientists tell me it can be reborn in some form—just bring back the body," Rhodes urgently messaged Dante's team.

To recover Baton's body, Rhodes sent out the Ultra Six Brothers and the Cosmic Phoenix.

On the front lines, the Tyranid fleet had fallen into chaos; victory was tipping towards them.

The Cosmic Phoenix, a 150-meter-tall giant energy being, was on par with the Cosmic Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Black Tortoise, and Vermillion Bird, only slightly weaker than the Cosmic Water Buffalo—an advanced Cosmic Phantom Beast.

"I understand, Lord Rhodes! In that case, we will not destroy the body—we'll hold out until reinforcements arrive," Dante and Titus nodded at each other and replied to Rhodes.

After the two ships landed, many Space Marines in suits poured out.

"Captain Dante! When the fighting starts, you and your Blood Angels can stay behind us. Our Chapter, thanks to Lord Rhodes' gene-seed, can operate in space, but you need equipment. Leave this fight to us," Titus said.

"Are you underestimating us? Since we agreed to Lord Rhodes' request, the Blood Angels will not retreat," Dante said, annoyed.

"Captain Dante, if you want to help, call Lord Mephiston over—his psychic powers can help us smash the Tyranids," Titus said.

He meant no disrespect; the Blood Angels were generally stronger than the Primaris, their gene-seed even more potent, and among the top Space Marine Chapters—only the Dark Angels could outmatch them.

But in space, Rhodes' gene-seed gave an absolute advantage.

"Captain Titus! On behalf of Captain Dante, thank you for your offer. But please allow us to participate. Space Marines are no strangers to combat in space," Mephiston arrived and said.

"In that case, let us fight together—let's reclaim the body. Lord Rhodes says his reinforcements are arriving soon," said Titus, drawing his power sword and Pedanium ray gun, charging and opening fire on the swarm below.

"Sons of Sanguinius! Do not shame the holy blood of Sanguinius!" Under Dante's command, the Blood Angels and their successor Chapters bravely charged and engaged the Tyranids.

This time, the Tyranids were determined to get Baton's body; their army had no fodder units—only Hive Tyrants, Carnifexes, Tyranid Warriors, Norn Emissaries, and Zoanthropes made up this elite force. and Tyranid forces soon clashed in a brutal melee.

Mephiston gathered massive psychic power and blasted apart a Norn Emissary.

Other Librarians unleashed their might, shielding the Space Marines from Tyranid psykers with psychic lightning and barriers.

With dozens of Librarians working together, Mephiston could even slow time in a certain area.

After just a few minutes, casualties piled up—the Tyranid force was fearsome.

But the Space Marines, whether original or Primaris, were fearless.

The Librarians' time-slowing powers hampered the Tyranids, giving the Marines the edge.

The fighting was fierce; in minutes, many original Space Marines had died.

Rhodes' sons erupted in rage, their bodies turning crimson, strength, and speed surging as they slaughtered even Carnifexes in a single blow.

Dante was a bit resigned; the difference in strength was huge—bravery alone couldn't bridge the gap. These new-era Astartes were the true main force!

"Captain, after this, we should talk to Lord Rhodes about upgrading the Blood Angels this way," Mephiston said, flying to Dante's side.

"I'll mention it to Lord Rhodes. For now, let's focus on the battle," Dante replied.

Just then, a white beam blasted through, instantly destroying a Tyranid hive ship—a Specium Ray, fired by the original Ultraman.

Then came Emerium, Strium, and Metallium Rays, wiping out the Tyranid fleet.

All six Mechanical Ultra Brothers had arrived.

"Cha!"

"Ha!"

"Je!"

A massive being appeared on the battlefield, delivering a devastating blow to the Tyranids.

"Reinforcements! Lord Rhodes' Mechanical Titan units are here!" Dante shouted, hacking at a Hive Tyrant with his power sword.

A giant, multi-colored phoenix of pure energy soared overhead, 150 meters tall with a 250-meter wingspan, unleashing flames that incinerated the Tyranids below.

The gigantic phoenix hovered above Baton, injecting its sacred Rebirth Flame into the body.

Receiving the Rebirth Flame, Baton's body reacted, eyes snapping open, slowly rising.

In Rhodes' system, Baton's icon lit up again.

"Master, I've temporarily revived it. Baton can handle the Rebirth Flame for a few minutes. If you don't begin the Phantom Beast transformation, the flame will consume it," the Cosmic Phoenix said.

Its Rebirth Flame was not easily wielded; only a high fire-attribute monster like Baton could endure.

"I understand. But let's strengthen it first," Rhodes said.
