The travel

After a few hours, they both returned to the cave.

"Whiskers dropped his gathered fish on the ground. "That's a lot of fish!"

"It sure is. Let's see who won. I've got seven fish, and you?" Tessa replied.

He started counting his fish. "One... two... three... four... five... six... seven!"

"A tie then," Tessa said.

"Yep! All that fishing did make me hungry, so I'm going to eat some," Whiskers said as he started eating his fish.

"I'm planning on going up the mountains in about two or three days," Tessa mentioned.

"Okay! Didn't you also say you could hunt?" Whiskers asked.

"I sure did."

"Could you teach me?"

"Uh, sure. It might take some more time than fishing, and it's not the best season for it," Tessa explained.

"Oh, okay. Uh, could you teach me when it is the season?"

"Sure! If you want to stay with me until spring?" Tessa offered.

"Yeah, if I could."

"Of course you can!"

"Well, you can explore here. I'm going on a walk. See you," Tessa said as she walked out of the cave.

"Okay, bye Tessa! Well, time for me to explore then!" Whiskers decided. He walked out of the cave and headed to a part of the woods he had not yet seen.

After a few hours, it turned night, and he went back to the cave. "There were so many new things there!" he said excitedly to Tessa.

"Oh, like what?"

"Many new flowers and these thingies!" he said as he put down the things he had found.

"Those are some nice flowers. And what did you not know the name of?" Tessa asked.

"This!" Whiskers pointed at it with his paw.

"Have you seriously never seen a mushroom?"

"Nope, that's why I didn't know what it was."

"Oh, well, it's just surprising. But anyway, I'm going to sleep. Good night!"

"Good night!"

This went on for two more days.

"Good morning, Whiskers. Today's the day."

"To go up the mountains?"

"Yep, eat your fish, and we'll go!"

They both ate the last of their food before walking out of the cave.

"Follow me!" Tessa ran off to the mountains.

"Wait for me!"

After some hours of running, they stopped at the foot of the mountain.

"This might be a little difficult for you since it's a pretty long climb," Tessa warned.

"Wait, we have to climb!?"

"Of course we have to. What did you expect?"

"Uh, a path up to the top."

"This isn't something your humans made."

"Yeah, yeah. Let's climb this thing now then!"

"Don't go too fast, or you might fall!"

They both started the climb.

"Ugh, how long till we can rest, Tessa?"

"Just a little bit longer. There's a small cave where we can spend the night."

"Okay!"

After some more climbing, they reached the cave entrance.

"Here it is!"

"Finally! That was exhausting!"

"You just never climbed. It will get easier the more you do it, don't worry!"

"Yeah, right. Well, I'm tired now, so I'm going to sleep."

"I'll follow you with that. Get some rest. Tomorrow, we will have to climb again."

The next day, they climbed again until they stopped at another platform with a small cave.

"I'm guessing there isn't any food nearby?"

"Yep, at the top there is, though."

"Well, can't wait to reach it then!"

This went on for two more days before they reached the top.

"We're here!"

"Finally! Whoa, this view is amazing!"

"Yep, but what's even more amazing is that there are fish here."

"Yes, finally food!"

They ran off to get some fish.

"So, most cats will arrive tomorrow, but there are some now too, so you can go talk to them."

"I'd rather sleep now. Good night!"

"Good night, Whiskers."
