Chapter 14 – The Chairman’s Interest

The streets of Manila buzzed with life as Mon and Bert casually walked along the sidewalk. It had been a few days since their harrowing experience in the Double Dungeon, and both brothers were still adjusting to the idea that their lives had completely changed.

As they passed by a busy intersection, their eyes were drawn to the familiar glow of a dungeon gate. A group of hunters, clad in mismatched armor and wielding various weapons, emerged from the swirling portal. Some looked relieved, others exhausted, but their hands were filled with mana stones, the currency that now dictated the lives of hunters.

Bert crossed his arms, watching the scene unfold. "This is our new reality now," he muttered, shaking his head. "People rushing into dungeons for mana stones, for power, for survival…"

Mon, hands in his pockets, nodded. "Yeah. It's either join the hunt or get left behind."

Bert smirked. "So, when do we start?"

Mon chuckled. "Soon. But first, let's check our equipment and plan things out properly."

They turned away from the dungeon gate, blending into the crowd once more.

HAP Headquarters – The Chairman's Office

Inside the grand office of the Hunter Association Philippines (HAP), Chairman Don Sy sat behind a massive mahogany desk, reviewing the latest reports. His sharp eyes scanned the detailed account of the Double Dungeon incident, specifically focusing on two names—Mon Marcelino and Bert Marcelino.

Across from him stood Chief Inspector Choks Go, his trusted right hand and a formidable A-Rank hunter.

Choks crossed his arms. "So, what do you think, Chairman?"

Don Sy leaned back in his chair, tapping a finger on the report. "Two unknown hunters walk into a Double Dungeon and not only survive but slay an A-Rank boss? That alone is interesting. But what caught my attention the most… is Mon's skill."

Choks raised an eyebrow. "The Dimensional Storage?"

Don Sy nodded. "At first glance, it seems like nothing more than a glorified inventory system. But think about it—no cooldown, no mana cost, and no limit? That's unheard of. Logistics alone, it's already overpowered."

Choks tilted his head. "You think there's more to it?"

A small smirk formed on Don Sy's lips. "I don't think—I know." He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. "Skills can evolve. And if Mon levels up further, I have a feeling his abilities will unlock something far more dangerous… something related to dimensions themselves."

Choks whistled. "If that's the case, he could become a major asset to HAP. Or… a threat."

Don Sy's smirk didn't fade. "That's why I want you to keep an eye on them. Don't let them out of our sight. If Mon's power grows beyond what we expect, we need to make sure he's on our side."

Choks nodded. "Understood, Chairman."

As Don Sy turned his gaze back to the report, a thought lingered in his mind.

What kind of power will Mon awaken next?
