INVITATION TO THE SUZAN

INVITATION TO THE SUZAN

Mr. Evan's voice thundered through the classroom.

Mr. Evan: "Mason! Mason! MASOOON!"

Startled, Mason jolted upright, realizing that he had been lost in his thoughts. As he glanced around, he saw the entire class staring at him, and Mr. Evan looked furious. That's when it hit him—he had been daydreaming all along! It was only the second class of the day, and two more periods remained before break.

Mason: "Yes… yes, sir?"

Mr. Evan: "What were you thinking about? Did you complete yesterday's homework?"

Mason: "Yes, sir, I did."

Mr. Evan: "Then submit your notebook here. And by the way, what happened to your friend Owen? Why didn't he come to class today?"

Mason: "Actually, sir, he had a fever, so he couldn't make it."

Mr. Evan: "Hmm, alright then."

Mason submitted his homework, and Mr. Evan moved on with the lesson.

Finally, after two more periods, the bell rang for the lunch break. Mason had been waiting for this moment, but now that it was here, he felt nervous. He wanted to talk to Luna, but he couldn't gather the courage. Just as he was hesitating, he saw Luna and Sophie walking toward him.

Sophia: "Hey, Mason! What happened to Owen? Why didn't he come today? Is he feeling better?"

Mason: "Oh, he's totally fine. The only problem is that he didn't complete his math homework." he said, laughing.

Sophia: "Ohh, so that's the reason!" she chuckled.

Mason took a deep breath and turned to Luna.

Mason: "Hey, Luna!"

Luna: "Hey!"

Mason: "Did you borrow the Suzan book from the library?"

Luna: "Yeah, I borrowed it yesterday. Why do you ask?"

Mason: "Oh, it's nothing. I was just curious because I'm a huge fan of Suzan! I've read all three parts, and I was looking for the fourth one. If you're not reading it right now, could I borrow it from you?"

Luna gave him a small smile ....

Luna: *"If I could give it to you, I would. But I can't."

Mason frowned, confused.

Mason: "Why not?"

Luna sighed.

Luna: "Because… the fourth part hasn't been published yet. Suzan only has three parts."

Mason's face fell.

Mason: "Oh… I had no idea. But I really want to know what happens after they reach the jungle!"

Luna: "Same! I've been waiting for it too, but we'll just have to be patient."

Mason: "Yeah, that's so disappointing. Anyway, it was nice talking to you, Luna."

Luna: "Same here, Mason!"

Sophia, who had been watching their conversation unfold, finally spoke up.

Sophia: "Oh my god, are you both done now? Can we leave?"

Luna and Mason exchanged amused glances and laughed.

After saying their goodbyes, Luna and Sophie left.

Back at the House

Mason knocked on Owen's door.

Mason: "Hey, class is over! Open up!"

Owen's voice came from inside.

Owen: "Yeah, yeah, I'm here. So? Did you get the fourth part of Suzan from Luna?"

Mason leaned against the door, smirking.

Mason: "No, because it turns out there is no fourth part. It hasn't been published yet."

Owen was silent for a second before responding.

Owen: "Wait… so that means you actually talked to Luna?"

Mason hesitated before nodding.

Mason: "Yeah, but only because of you."

Owen raised an eyebrow.

Owen: "Because of me?"

Mason: "Yeah. Mr. Evan asked about you, and I told him you were sick. So, Sophie and Luna came to ask me about your condition."

Owen sat up, suddenly interested.

Owen: "Really? And what did you tell them?"

Mason burst into laughter.

Mason: "I told them that you're perfectly fine—you just didn't do your math homework and were avoiding Mr. Evan's punishment."

Owen's expression changed instantly.

Owen: "WHAT?! WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT? You're supposed to be my best friend!"

Mason, still laughing, patted Owen's shoulder.

Mason: "Come on, 9th standard guy, don't be so dramatic. I told you I'd get my revenge, and I did!"

Owen groaned.

Owen: *"You're the worst!"

Mason laughed even harder.

An Unexpected Discovery

That evening, Mason and Owen went to dinner and met Lian again. After eating, they decided to go for a walk around the campus.

As they strolled through the quiet corridors, Mason suddenly stopped in his tracks. His eyes were fixed on something written on the wall.

Mason: "Wait… what is that?"

Owen and Lian turned to look.

Owen & Lian (in unison): "What?"

Mason stepped closer and read the words out loud.

"You are invited to the journey of Suzan."
