Chapter 20: Hunt For The Man

More than seven bodies has been found in just three days, the people don't feel safe anymore, complains from the villagers keep increasing, they claim they saw a stranger in the village but no one know who he is,

Who is killing my people, Kendrick says looking concern.

Catching one man seems to be a big task for you, Benjamin look at Kai sitting across him.

We are searching for him but it difficult to find him, someone must be hiding him.

Do whatever you can, I want this to end as soon as possible, Kendrick command them.

Benjamin and Jonas Walking out of the hall, this matter is getting bigger, it needs to be stop, Jonas says.

This is a sign something is coming our way, Benjamin breath deeply look back at the castle and walk away.

Kai watching Peter and Moana training in the yard, Crestella and Lucia approach him, what do we do now?, Crestella ask looking at him.

I don't know, we wait for him to show himself, he respond watching Moana and Peter fighting each other.

But what if he doesn't show himself, what happens then?, she ask him again.

Then we force him out, wherever he his hiding, whoever is hiding him, we will find them.

Lucia contribute to their conversation, but we can't keep waiting for him to appear before us, he is killing people in the village, soon he will be targeting the king.

Kai and Crestella looks at her, "she stutter", don't look at me like that, I heard it from my father, he think there is something behind this killing.

We know there is a reason for killing, we just don't know why and who it is, Crestella respond to her in a harsh manner.

Moana and Peter join them, Peter wiping sweet on his body with a cloth, tonight we set out to hunt for him.

Kai look at him, I will take the lead, you and moana are coming with me.

I will come along as well, Crestella says.

No, you won't be coming with us, Moana respond sharply.

Just stay in the castle and don't go anywhere, Kai says sternly and walk away.

Lucia drag Crestella, let's go, it best if they go alone.

The sun setting everyone is retiring to their housesfor the day, the noise and movement in the village becomes quietas night fall, Crestella sneak out of the castle carefully to avoid been notice.

Kai and Moana hide inside a house in the village, Peter hurried in to the house,report to Kai,everyone has gone in, am sure he will show up soon.

They sit quietly and stay alert, a quick but soft movement move fast on the roof of the house, Kai run out of the house, Peter and Moana run after him, he jump on the roof chasing after him in the middle of the night, he move faster making it difficult for them to catch him, he jump down from the roof of the house hide in the darkness, Kai instruct Peter and Moana to find him while he stand on the roof looking down to find him, a sudden shout from one of the houses calling for help, Kai run to where the sound is coming from barge into the house sees Crestella fighting him, he move close to the woman sitting on the floor shivering in fear take her outside enter the house back, he grab the man from the back throw him outside the house run to him in a swift kicking and punching him repeatedly, he pull him up by grabbing his neck tighten his grip around it chocking throw him to Peter, take him to the dungeon, I will present him to the king tomorrow.

The woman bow down to Crestella, thank you, your highness for saving me, I will be dead if not for you.

Crestella hug her, it is my duty as the princess to protect you.

Kai glare at her intensely, you never listen, he smile at her, she smile back, Moana look sad looking at the two of them smiling at each other, Peter look at her sadly.

The next morning, Kai drag him inside the hall, he is the man behind the killing that has been going on for days in the kingdom.

Kendrick stands up from his sit angry, who sent you to kill my people?.

He look Kendrick in the eye, his a dark and young man, his red eye staring into Kendrick's eye fiercely, I rather die than tell you who sent me.

Then I shall honor you with death, put him to death, he commands, all the council members raise and bow to him.
