Preparations

Loca didn't sleep throughout the night, so he didn't have to wake to start his important job for the day. He has been watching the dark night go by, sometimes staring at the two moons of two different shades of silver, shining gloriously in the sky.

He is a well-built man with fresh white skin, an easy smile, and a perfectly blond hair. His rippling muscles testifies to his intense workout routine, and he walks straight and firm, almost in a robotic manner. His nose is moderately pointed, his mouth always curved in a thin smile has a few tufts of hair round it. He is not proud to call them beards, but he is not so shameful as to shave them either. Above all, he is an admirable man.

The military base has always been his home right from a very young age. His dad was a top military official with super speed as his quirk, and his mom was a water controller. Everyone had high expectations for Loca when he was born only to find out that he was a Quirkless boy. The disappointment he gave his parents lasted for a long time, until Loca started showing admirable skills with just his physical abilities.

As a boy, he could take on active quirk users, using pure flexibility and good hits, and without a scratch. Also, he became obsessed with hi-tech machines whenever he visits the lab near their bunker. He learnt how to crack codes, couple simple machines, tamper with signals, and in general, make a device malfunction. These he learnt all on his own.

His pure skills gained the attention of the military, and so he was assigned the rank of General Works for the lower rank military base. During this time, he helped the military develop an emergency vehicle that could clear obstacles from the way on its own and also self-drive or remote-controlled from a lab. He achieved this by coupling mechanical engineering with the advancing AI technology, and this became a huge breakthrough in Luxus' tech upgrade.

He received honours after these wonderful works, and now he's the captain of a whole team of Mutant soldiers even when he doesn't have an active quirk himself. His parents who thought that their child with no quirk would never make waves like they wanted, are now proud of him.

"Loca Reiss is now named the Captain of Battalion A..." He recalled that moment in his head, the general awarding him with a medal and an honour. He has really come a long way.

He always loved Luxus, but he has also always imagined what life was on Earth. His friends called him The Earth nerd when he was little. He would stare at the Atlas during his free hours, pointing each locations on Earth and even memorizing the shape of the maps. But of course, there was no way he could just go down to Earth.

Not until they got news from space that Xollante was going to raid earth. He worked tirelessly day and night, hoping to pick up any signal from an earthling who has the same ability has him. He wanted to save Earth so badly. He had later picked up Leo's signal but he knew the boy was too young to carry out the task. He gave up when he saw that all hope was lost. There was no way for the Luxus fleet to get to Earth before the Xollante.

He cried so much when he saw a part of Earth getting destroyed by the nuclear weapon. He vowed there and then that he would do anything to destroy the Xollante on Earth. So, he picked up the job of recruiting kids from earth, prepping them to learn how to use their abilities that they found, and leaving them at the safe hands of the academy. And when their number of years are done, he'd also be the one to take them back to Earth.

And that was what he is doing today. As soon as the first rays of sun peeked over the horizon, Loca sprang up from his lounge chair and was ready to suit up. He called "Stu" and a little robot wheeled into view carrying his gears and tools with it. The round-headed robot placed the gears on the large table and wheeled out again.

Loca got busy, wearing a thin, flexible tight shirt first. Then a thicker blue one, designed with lighter blue lines curving and stretching, and giving the impression of motion. He wore his metal belt, placed his hand guns in the two pockets by the side, a curved knife by the little pocket on the shoe, and an AI wrist device over wrapped over his left wrist. He was all set.

And, oh...his bubble-forming device that he invented himself.

He then grabbed a bulky bag from the shelf and strapped it against his back. This bag contains a portal machine.

"Stu, wake Leo," Loca said into the device on his wrist. The little round-headed by the corner made a whirring sound and said:

[Target: Leo]

[Mission: wake Leo up]

Then it wheeled out of the room.

Loca scoffed at the unnecessary repetition of the command. He wondered which dumbhead reprogrammed the robot that way. It wasn't like that before.

Moments later, Leo jumped into the room looking excited. He gawked when he saw Loca in his shining suit. "You look like my fantasy superhero, Mr Loca. You only need a mask and a cape to complete the suit."

"Errr, I don't know if that's a compliment, but thanks. I can see you woke up already."

"Yes, I did before the robot came barging. When are we leaving, Mr Loca?"

"Now. And please, stop calling me Mr Loca."

"Okay, Mr Loca," Leo responded sarcastically but with a straight face.

Loca scoffed.

Leo was flying in Loca's DMX aircraft again. The early morning sun filtered in through the transparent cockpit, making the atmosphere more alive.

"Mr Loca, are there no birds here? I haven't seen one," Leo observed.

"You are a funny one, aren't you? That should be the least of your worries for now. Well, there are no earthling birds here, but there are Luxus birds, I hope you know what I mean."

"Well, if earth started the first life form here, it means the Luxus birds are actually from Earth. But where are they?" Leo pestered.

"Seems you've been paying attention after all. Well, birds are the only animals who showed signs of mutation on Luxus. They became big, scary monsters, I'm sure you don't want to see them. They don't fly in the morning. They are in their large nests at the moment, and they only come out at night to feed on other animals."

"Woah, that's scary," Leo conceded.

They flew past Luxus' power station and right past the airfield this time. The aircraft was going straight for the academy.

On the open field of "E-73 for Earth", the DMX landed blowing everything below it right out of the way. Leo looked outside and saw that the children are already lined up at a part of the field with their bags, ready to leave. Leo searched for the boy who threatened him two days ago, and spotted him immediately. He was easy to spot with his deep red spiky hair. Leo wished that the menace would just forget about him.

Loca jumped down and shouted a command at the students. "Alright boys and girls, get ready to move. Drop your bags at the rear and walk in gently. Do so with your senses and souls, we have no time to waste. Come on!"

His voice boomed, befitting a capable captain of the best battalion in the military base.

The students started moving.
