Chapter 1: The Shattered Glass

The sound of the door closing was final. For Anna, it echoed like the last note of a broken symphony. She stood in the living room, looking at the space that had once been filled with shared moments, laughter, and promises. Now, all that remained was silence, heavy and suffocating.

"Goodbye, Anna," her ex-husband's voice still rang in her ears. His words hadn't been filled with anger, but they still left a wound. The love that had once tied them together seemed so distant now, as if it had been erased by time, arguments, and the unspeakable loneliness that had grown between them.

She walked over to the coffee table, where a framed photo of their wedding day lay. The picture had captured a moment of joy when they had both thought their love would last forever. Anna's fingers gently grazed the glass, her eyes misting over.

The world outside continued on, oblivious to her heartache. Her friends and family tried to offer comfort, but there was nothing anyone could say that would undo the sense of failure she felt. The dream of forever was gone.

Her heart hurt in a way that felt raw, like a wound too deep to be easily healed. But she knew she had to move forward. For herself, for the life she wanted to rebuild. Somewhere deep within her, she understood that healing was possible, even if it felt impossible at the moment.
