Chapter 3: Time skip

Chapter 3: A New Journey Begins

10 Years Later

Naruto's POV:

It has been ten years since I came to this world. Though it resembles the Naruto world I once knew from the anime and manga, many things are vastly different. Adjusting wasn't easy, but I managed. Since I wasn't much of a talker as a kid, blending in wasn't that hard. Jiraiya, on the other hand, was loud and open enough for both of us—talkative enough to reveal a lot about my past and who I was in this life.

Now, I'm 14 years old.

I sat in my classroom, watching as the room buzzed with excitement. Today was the last day of middle school, and students were eager to discuss their futures.

But no matter how much I look around, I can't shake the feeling—this world isn't Naruto's world. It's different.

That much is clear from how my life turned out.

For starters, I'm still an orphan. Well, I don't know if my parents are actually dead or just missing. No one ever told me the full truth. Instead, I live with my grandfather, Jiraiya, in a quiet mountain village. And yes, he's my real, blood-related grandfather in this world.

He's very similar to his counterpart from the original Naruto timeline—just less of a perv and more serious. Not that he isn't a perv, but at least he keeps it under control.

Life in the village is peaceful. We have electricity, Wi-Fi, and even TV, so it's not like we live in the dark ages. It's just quieter, away from the big cities.

The real difference came when I told Jiraiya my dream:

I wanted to be a Hunter.

He was thrilled. Too thrilled.

That's when my personal hell began.

Old man Jiraiya didn't just train me—he tortured me. Every day was a brutal lesson in combat, endurance, and survival. But I can't deny the results. I became stronger—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Turns out, Jiraiya wasn't just some retired warrior—he was an ex-Hunter. A damn good one, too. He taught me everything he knew about fighting monsters, handling dungeons, and how the Hunter world worked.

Still, unlike the shinobi world, this version of Naruto's world follows a more structured system.

We have schools, colleges, universities, and even corporations. Everything operates like a modern world—just with Hunters, dungeons, and supernatural abilities thrown into the mix.

And today? Today is the end of middle school.

Now, I'm heading to the heart of the Land of Fire—the capital city, Konoha.

There, I plan to take the entrance exam for the most prestigious Hunter Academy in the Land of Fire—

Konoha Hunter Academy (KHA for short)

This school has produced some of the strongest S-Rank Hunters in history. The Second Hokage established it, and both the Third and Fourth Hokage were trained here.

And speaking of Hokages—the current Hokage is Hiruzen Sarutobi.

The previous one? Minato Namikaze.

Yeah. Minato.

If this world followed the same logic as the anime, that should mean he's my father. But I can't be certain. Too much is different.

What I do know is that Minato died in an Omega-Class Dungeon Break.

---

The Omega-Class Disaster

This world has a terrifying event called Outer Dungeon Breaks.

These are spontaneous monster outbreaks where creatures from high-ranking dungeons spill into the real world. The danger level is classified from Beta to Omega—with Omega being the highest.

The last Omega-Class Dungeon Break happened 13 years ago.

One year after I was born.

The event devastated Konoha. High-ranking monsters, A to S-rank, flooded the city, and even S+ rank bosses emerged. Minato, the Hokage at the time, led the defense, alongside elite Hunters and clan guilds.

He fought to protect the people.

And he perished.

With his death, Hiruzen Sarutobi was forced to take the mantle of Hokage once more. No other National-Class Hunter wanted the role.

---

The Final Bell Rings

The loud chime of the school bell snapped me from my thoughts.

I stood up from my seat, stretching slightly as my two friends joined me.

"Hey, Naruto," one of them called. "Which high school are you planning to go to?"

I shoved my hands in my pockets and replied, "Konoha Hunter Academy."

Silence.

Then—

"WHAT?!" The chubby one gawked at me. "That's one of the top Hunter Academies! Are you sure you can get in? I heard that this year, heirs from all the major clans are taking the entrance exam!"

I raised an eyebrow. "What do you think? Do I have a shot or not?"

The first guy hesitated, then grinned. "Well, if it's you… I guess there's a chance."

"Yeah," the chubby one added, laughing. "I hope you make it in."

We kept chatting as we walked out of school. Eventually, we reached the crossroads where we had to split up.

"Later," I said with a casual wave.

"See ya, Naruto!"

---

Back Home

By the time I reached home, the sun had begun to set.

I pushed open the door.

"I'm home."

Silence.

Frowning, I took off my shoes and walked into the living room. No sign of the old man. Instead, there was a note on the table.

Raising an eyebrow, I picked it up and began reading.

---

Dear Naruto,

If you're reading this, then you've come home and didn't find your dear old grandpa.

(I could already feel my eye twitching.)

Well, I'll be away for a few months due to an emergency call from an old friend.Sorry, kid, but I won't be able to see your entrance exam. Forgive me.I'll try to bring you something cool as compensation. But I know you. You'll make it into your favorite academy.

Your cool and handsome grandfather,

Jiraiya.

---

I sighed, shaking my head with a small smile.

"Damn old man…" I muttered.

Tossing the note onto the table, I grabbed a box of instant ramen from the shelf. As I cooked it, I turned on the TV, flipping through channels until I found an anime to watch.

As the steam from my ramen filled the air, I leaned back, slurping my food quietly.

Tomorrow marked the beginning of a new chapter.

I would step into the Hunter world.

I would enter Konoha Hunter Academy.

And I would become the strongest.
