Chapter 10: The Hunt Begins

Luna barely slept.

Her mind was consumed with possibilities, with questions. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the stars shifting, bending to her will. It terrified her.

She wasn't sure what scared her more—the power itself, or the fact that it had felt so natural.

Ethan had disappeared early in the morning, saying he had someone to meet. Luna had stayed behind, pacing, trying to make sense of everything.

Then—her phone buzzed.

A message. No name. No number.

Just two words.

"Run now."

Her stomach turned to ice.

The apartment door slammed open before she could react.

Men in dark suits. No masks this time. Their expressions were cold, calculated.

The Celestial Order had found her.

"Luna Sinclair," one of them said. "You need to come with us."

She didn't hesitate.

She ran.

The Chase

Luna bolted down the fire escape, her breath sharp in the cold morning air. Footsteps thundered behind her—trained, efficient.

They were prepared for this.

But so was she.

Luna skidded onto the main street, blending into the morning crowds. She wove between pedestrians, her heartbeat deafening.

She didn't know where she was going.

She just knew she couldn't stop.

Then—a hand grabbed her arm.

She gasped, ready to fight—but it was Ethan.

"Come on," he hissed, pulling her into an alley.

She barely had time to catch her breath before he shoved open a door, dragging her inside what looked like an abandoned bookstore.

Only when the door locked behind them did he finally speak.

"They're tracking you," he said, breathing hard. "They know what you did last night."

Luna's stomach dropped. "How?"

Ethan's jaw tightened. "Because when you moved the stars—the whole Order felt it."

A chill ran through her.

No more hiding.

No more running.

The hunt had begun.

And the next move was hers.
