Chapter 73: Noah

The loud ring of my phone shattered the silence of my room. A groan left me as my hand fumbled for the device.

“What now?” I muttered, my voice thick with sleep and annoyance thanks to whoever was calling me. I squinted at the bright screen, seeing Joe’s name flashing on it once my eyes adjusted to the light enough to read it. “This better be good,” I grumbled as I swiped to answer.

“Hey, Noah, sorry to wake you,” Joe’s voice came through, sounding apologetic yet tense. “I know it’s your day off, but we’ve got trouble. Articles are popping up everywhere saying you and Madison are done. It’s chaos, and the investors are freaking out.”

I cursed under my breath, my grumpiness quickly turning into frustration. “Get the PR team together, now,” I snapped and threw the covers off me.

My heart was racing, the urgency pushing me to move faster. I skip my usual coffee, barely taking time to brush my teeth and pull on a pair of jeans and a shirt.
