Xyrine Jean's POV
I suddenly woke up with a loud sound coming from my side. "Arg! It's only 7 AM!" I groaned and turned off the alarm clock beside me. I was about to go back to sleep when I noticed the paper next to it.
XYRINE JEAN, GET TO MONTREAL EARLY! YOU NEED TO BE THERE BY 7:30, OKAY?! PS: WEAR YOUR UNIFORM!
What? 7:30? I thought classes started at 9. Why so early? Oh well! Since I was still sleepy, I went back to sleep.
*****
The sun was high when I woke up. Despite how heavy my body felt, I forced myself to get up and take a shower. Afterward, I sat on the bed and stared at the uniform I was about to wear.
Yeah, it was a new set of uniforms that Ella gave me. I accepted it even though I had no idea how to wear something like this.
"Aish! Whatever!" I quickly put on the skirt and blouse, then hung the necktie around my neck like a necklace. As for the coat, I just carried it. Before I left, I put on my black cap.
I was already in the garage when I suddenly realized there was no car left for me to use.
Hah, really...
Tennessee's POV
"Babe, hmm... can you just ditch your class?" Kiara asked as she pulled me closer, her lips pressing against mine in a fevered kiss, making us both breathless.
I smirked at her pleading tone. "Probably not, someone would go berserk," I replied, my hands sliding down her back, pulling her even closer. I deepened the kiss, savoring the way her body responded to mine.
"Ugh, babe, I'm losing my mind," she murmured against my lips, her fingers slowly undoing the buttons of my shirt with teasing precision, her eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that made my heart race.
"Why such a rush?" I trailed my hand inside her skirt, aiming for her only-God-knows-what's-in-there, while my other hand was also busy unbuttoning the first two buttons of her top.
I was just about to lower my lips to her neck when the car suddenly jolted to a stop, causing my head to collide with the roof.
"Damn! What was that?!" I yelled, irritation flooding my chest as I looked at the driver.
"Young master, the car broke down," he immediately answered.
"Seriously? What the hell?!" I growled as glance at my wristwatch. "Ah! Fvck!" I cursed under my breath when I saw the time.
Dammit! Where's your sense of time, Ten? Especially now that Spade is returning. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks.
I straightened up, ready to exit and check on the situation when Kiara suddenly pulled me back and kissed me again. Her lips were hungry while her hands gripped my shirt with desperation.
"Babe, uhmm... where are... hmm... you going?" She asked breathlessly as her lips trailed kisses along my neck, her body pressed tightly against mine.
"Ha! What a thirsty little slut we have here," I muttered in a bored tone, wiping her lipstick off my lips after reluctantly pushing her away.
"What the heck did you just say?" she asked in disbelief.
"Hey, it's over."
"What? But it's only been 1 hour since we started dating! Are you nuts?!"
"One hour. One girl. That's my rule. Have you forgotten?"
She was left speechless by what I said. "Are you serious about that?! You're kidding me, right, Ten?"
"Yeah, and I'm not, so piss the fvck off." I adjusted my uniform. She couldn't do anything as I stepped out of the car.
It's funny if she's expecting more .I'm Tennessee Stanphil. I'm not the type to invest more than an hour in any girl I meet. She should consider herself lucky. Out of the countless DMs I get, I chose her.
I approached my driver to find out what happened.
"Young master, we need water," he said when I got closer.
"And what do you expect me to do? Should I look myself?" I sarcastically asked.
"No, sir. Sorry." He quickly ran off as I gave him a dirty look.
I looked at my watch again, and at this point, I was even later than I already was. I leaned on the car while glaring at the ticking hands of my watch. My gaze kept shifting back and forth when suddenly a woman riding a mountain bike passed in front of me.
She seemed unusual, so I couldn't help but follow her with my eyes. She wore a black cap, and her straight hair that reached her waist flaunting like a night sky. My gaze shifted to her uniform; her necktie was poorly tied, and her coat was tied around her waist.
A whistle almost escaped my mouth from the amusement.
Where else would you find a woman in a miniskirt riding a mountain bike?! If that's not cool, I don't know what is. And even though her skirt was longer than the original length of the university skirt, she still look, uhm, weirdly captivating?
"Excuse me, Miss!" I snapped back to my senses when my driver suddenly shouted from behind me.
Out of curiosity, I followed my driver who was now walking toward her.
"Ah, Miss, that's Young Master. He'll tell you himself," I heard him say while looking at me.
What? What am I supposed to say? Oh, don't tell me... I smirked. I didn't know my driver had some use after all. Oh well, they both looked at me, so I took a deep breath.
"Miss, are you a crystal ball?"
Instead of answering, she gave me the "do you want to die?" look before she quickly rode away on her bike.
Eh?
"MISS, THAT WAS A PICK-UP LINE!" I yelled, but she didn't even glance at me.
Wow, what the heck just happened?
I heard my driver laugh. "What are you laughing for? Go find some water!" I shouted at him.
Seriously? Who's that girl? Tennessee Stanphil? One of the 4 KINGS, and she didn't even acknowledge me! Really?!
"Babe, what happened?" Kiara asked who had now appeared behind me.
"Knock it off, and stop calling me babe." I brushed her hand away.
"Do you know that girl?"
I stopped walking when I heard her question. "Do you think I would drop a cringe pick-up line if I knew her?" I ran my hands through my hair as I remembered what I had said earlier.
Arg. Fvck my life. That's embarrassing.
"Well, you must. She is the girl Monique encountered at the cafeteria and the same girl who dared to talk to Spade's toy yesterday."
I turned to look at her. Don't tell me, is she the transfer student who made the campus queen run, yesterday? And Spade's possession?
What a turn of events.
Well, I guess the next day would be entertaining.
Xyrine Jean's POV
"Dammit!" I crumpled my admission slip out of frustration and exhaustion. Seriously, what the heck is wrong with those students? They keep giving me the wrong directions!
"DAMN ALL OF YOU!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, causing all the students around me to stare. Yeah, I dared to curse, for all I care. Dare me now, and I'll go full beast mode.
As I looked around, I realized that all the students in the building were men.
"Miss, the 4th building is quite huge, do you want us to bring you there?" one of the students asked.
So I'm currently in the fourth building, huh.
I looked up at the two guys who suddenly appeared in front of me. Although something felt off about them, I didn't say anything. I was too exhausted to care.
A few minutes into walking, we arrived at a grassy and secluded part of the field. I furrowed my brows in confusion.
"And why are we here?" I asked in annoyance.
"We just want to have fun with you," one of the guys said with a grin.
"You think this is fun?" After I said that, I turned around. I had no time to entertain them.
I had barely taken a few steps when one of them grabbed my hair.
"No one is here, even if you scream, no one will hear you, so if I were you, I wouldn't struggle," he said, firmly holding onto my hair.
"Hey, no one in my entire life has ever touched my hair. If you understand what I'm saying, get off."
"Is that supposed to be a joke?"
I just laughed at what he said, "Do you guys really want to have fun that badly?"
"Yeah, let's have fun." He yanked my hair even harder, making my neck arch.
"But fun to me is seeing someone's head rolling on the ground." I said in a blank tone.
"What nonsense are you saying?" his friend asked in confussion.
"Since you guys want it, let's start the fun, shall we?"
"Sure, let's start—" SNAP!
A sudden silence enveloped us as the head of the guy who was holding my hair spun completely around.
"W-What the..." the remaining guy stammered, unable to believe what just happened.
"Eight hundred and ten," I replied calmly.
"W-what nonsense are you saying? — Waaah, what the hell?!"
I smirked as I felt him trembling when in an instant, I was already behind him.
I gripped his hair tightly and pulled out a kunai from my sleeve. "810. That's the number of people I've killed. Well, that was the last count I know." I pressed the blade of the kunai against his temple. "...7 years ago."
When I felt him tremble in fear, I almost lost control.
"We were just ordered to! P-Please don't kill me!"
"oh, is that so?"
He didn't answer and just looked up at me.
Ha! This is exhausting.
"At this point, I'm losing my patience, and when I lose my patience..." I drove the kunai deeper into his temple until blood started dripping down to his face. "I end everything in front of me."
"We were just ordered by Spade! The leader of the 4KINGS!"
Spade?
Ah! Right, I remember now. The guy with the name that sounds like a deck of cards. And who could forget that name when Ella has mentioned it to me so many times.
I exhaled sharply. Why do I feel like I'm being invited into the playden of bored heirs and heiresses of wealthy conglomerates all of a sudden?
"Listen carefully. If you still value your life, take me to Class A right now!"
REN'S POV
"Aaaah!" I yawned. "damn, my life never been this boring."
I'm still yawning when I noticed Ten who is sitting beside me. Well, he'd been smiling and staring into the distance for a while now, and it was cringing me out. I bet he had sex this morning. Well, it's abnormal if he didn't.
"Have you heard what happened yesterday?" he asked out of the blue.
"Nope, been busy with my gang recently," I said, looking out the window and yawning again.
I abruptly looked in his direction when he burst out laughing as if it would be his last. "Oh, didn't you take your medication, Ten?" I asked in sarcasm.
"Yeah, a fvcking love drug. Anyways, Did you know Monique has finally met her match?"
I glanced out the window again. So, it's true, huh? I wonder where she got the guts to clash into her.
"So, who's the unlucky girl?"
"And why are you asking?"
I immediately looked at him. What's with the tone? Why is he asking like I'm interested in that girl? Like, what the hell?!
"Curiosity strikes. Don't tell me you're interested in that girl?"
"Whahaha! I don't think she can be my girl, especially since she's the one who dared speak to Spade's toy."
"Oh," our conversation somehow taken an interesting turn.
"Cool, right?"
"Well, she practically walked herself into the devil's den," I mumbled.
"Yeah, I think so," he answered back. "Wait, speaking of the Devil, I thought he's already back?"
"Well, he's not here, so that means he's busy," I answered curtly.
"Does he know about the things happening?"
"Heh, we're talking about Spade here. You know, almost all the students here are his eyes. What do you take him for?"
"What about Louren?"
"Wandering somewhere else, I guess."
"Eh—"
"Ten, let's go to Heaven's club," I interrupted him and stood up.
"Count me in," he agreed immediately.
We were about to leave when suddenly the door slammed open, and from there, a woman with long black hair stormed in from the outside.
Did she just…? Kick the door?
"You?!" Tennessee asked.
I turned to look at Ten, then back at the woman. She ignored him and walked straight to me. I was still staring at her when she quickly grabbed me by the collar and pulled me towards her.
"Damn!" I blurted out, startled by her sudden action.
"Are you Spade?" she gritted out.
"Why don't you calm down first?" I smiled back.
"Answer me if you don't want to get killed." She said without blinking an eye.
I don't know why, but I suddenly felt strange about her.
Amusing...
"Well, take a guess, if you're able—ARG!" I almost gasped when she yanked me again.
"You keep pulling me. At this point, I'll assume you want to be bedded."
"Ha. What a crazy fvck. Don't make me repeat my question. Are you Spade?"
I felt my heart race from her words. I'm used to pulling people, not the other way around. She is really something.
"Would you be disappointed if I say no?"
"Good for your ass." She immediately let me go.
"You? Are you Spade?" she asked Ten this time.
"Babe, I'm sorry, but I'm more handsome than him," he responded confidently. What a jerk.
"What a load of assholes!" she said before storming out.
When she came back, she was with a guy. Both Ten and I were in shock at what we were seeing. The guy was soaked in his own blood, shaking uncontrollably without stopping, his face pale and his eyes wide with terror.
"Do me a favor and say this to Spade, word for word," she looked at us seriously. "I enjoyed your welcome gift, but rather than from someone else, I prefer you bring it yourself!" She said it with a blank expression on her face.
Her eyes are like a black hole, As if they were empty.
After she said that, she threw the guy in front of us and quickly left. Again, silence enveloped the space around us.
"Ten, tell me, what just happened?" I asked in disbelief.
I admit, There have been many girls I've met in my gang, but I've never met one with such a strong character.
"Men, don't ask me, I'm still in shock."
"Then who is that girl? what is her name?"
"Men, what? are you interested too?"
"Too?"
"Oh well. She's the girl I'm talking about earlier, bro."
"WHAT?"
Xyrine Jean's POV
Here I am, walking down the corridor towards the cafeteria. Well, I came in late again. Plus, I don't wanna go into that Class A. The so-called 4 Kings are in there, especially Spade. Thank goodness I didn't see him yesterday because if I had..
He'll be fvcking dead.
As I walked through the hallway, I could feel eyes following me. The whispers grew louder with every step I took.
Tss. 'Spade's toy', '4 Kings', 'Monique.' They weren't even subtle about it. How come, every day I was the topic of every conversation. It was strange and unsettling.
But that Spade guy, Why do they fear him so much? Whatever. I don't want to be involved in their games. My thoughts drifted again. Anyway, where's Ella? It's break time, so she's probably in the cafeteria.
I was about to enter the cafeteria when I noticed there were a lot of people gathered around, like they were discussing something. Well, I tried to brush it off, but my stomach growled with hunger, so I pushed forward.
"How dare she? Because of her, Tong's in trouble."
"Isn't she the newbie? Didn't she do some research before enrolling here? Poor Tong."
"Isn't she the newbie? Didn't she do any research before coming here? Poor Tong."
I couldn't be sure if they were talking about me, but the mention of Tong caught my attention. Where was he? I looked around the cafeteria, my eyes scanning for him among the sea of students. I could feel everyone's gaze piercing my back as I walked. The stares were unnerving.
What the hell is wrong with them? Why do they all keep staring?
A few moments later, I finally found Tong. But something seemed wrong.
He was in the middle of the crowd.
Dirty.
Kneeling.
Head down.
What's going on? Why does he look like that?
I walked closer to him, but it felt like every step I took was being followed by their eyes.
"Tong, what are you doing there?" I called out, but he didn't respond. He just stared at me, his eyes wide in disbelief. It made me feel even more irritated.
"So, is it you?"
I looked at the guy who spoke. He was on all fours, holding a beer in can in one hand. Yes, beer in can in a broad daylight...
I ignored him, turning my focus back to Tong.
Tong kept glancing between me and the guy. His lips trembled as he stuttered, "U-um, please just leave."
"Stand up." I ordered.
"Please, don't interfere…"
"Stand up."
"Please…"
This is getting frustrating! I walked up to him and forcibly helped him stand up.
"Hey, it's nice seeing you here again."
I looked again at the one who spoke. Why are these two here? I'm referring to the two guys I saw yesterday in Class A. I frowned when I saw what they were doing. One of them was kissing a girl, while the other had one hand inside a girl's skirt, smoking and looking at me.
Disgusting. Is this even a univ, or a fvcking bar?
I ignored the guys and turned back to Tong who was still kneeling there, trembling. I reached down and tried to help him stand, but he didn't budge.
"Now, now, what kind of entertainment do we have here?"
"Oh, you find this entertaining?" I said as my gaze shifted to the guy holding the beer in can.
"Do you have any idea what the hell you're doing?"
What does he think I'm doing?
"How about you? Do you know what you're doing?" I retorted.
He just grinned at my remark. What an asshole.
"Do you know who I am?" he asked in a calm tone.
"I don't have time to figure out who you are, but if you want to be recognized, try wearing a nameplate next time."
A laugh escaped his mouth as he took a sip of his beer. "I'm going to ask you again, transferee. Do you know who I am?" he asked with full authority in his voice.
"Fuck me, I don't know."
When silence fell over the entire cafeteria, I looked around. All the students, even the two guys with him, seemed to be staring at us.
Why do their faces look more tense than mine?
When I turned my attention back to the guy in front of me, a shiver ran down my spine as his expression became blank.
"Interesting." I stepped back as he suddenly came closer to me and lowered himself to my level. When he stopped in front of me, he stared into my eyes directly. I don't know why, but there was something off about his gaze that I couldn't quite pinpoint.
"But if I were you, I'd be more careful with my words," he stepped closer. "or else, you might get fucked soon," he added before brushing past me.
Ha, is that a warning?
Not sure why, but my skin prickled again.
[Clap clap]
I looked at who was clapping. It was him, the guy I met on the road yesterday.
"Nice! That was the most entertaining thing I've seen in a while," he said, walking toward me. "Just a piece of advice, better not be here tomorrow." With that, he brushed past me.
"You really have guts, don't you?" the guy who looked like a Japanese asked. "Let me say something too." He came close and whispered in my ear. "If you weren't just Spade's toy, I would have you. Such a waste."
When they were out of sight, I let out a sigh to breathe out.
What was that?
I looked around again. Everyone seemed to be in disbelief over what had just happened. Actually, I have no idea what happened, but I still couldn't shake the feeling of unease in my chest.
I was still standing there when suddenly someone grabbed my arm and dragged me into a corner.
"Miss, I didn't know you, you didn't know me! So why are you doing these things? Ella already told you! Don't you know your life will be miserable soon?!"
"What?!" I asked, yanking my arm away from him.
"Well, let me tell you again. The guy you bumped into earlier? He's Spade. He's the one everyone avoids. He's a psycho, a total mess. If you want to survive here, never, ever cross them, especially him. You know why? Because he's everyone's menace. They can do anything, even toy with you!"
Why do they keep repeating the same thing, like Ella?
"Calm down, okay?"
"What? Calm down? If I were you, I'd be transferring to another university right now!"
"Okay, I get it." I didn't want to say anything more, but it didn't mean I agreed with what he said.
"You being so nonchalant is stressing me out. Aren't you scared?"
Scared? Yeah, I felt something a while ago.
But…
What if I told him I've killed so many people that I've already lost count?
