One day, an unexpected visitor showed up at the company.
It was Irina.
She wasn't wearing any makeup, her face was pale, and her eyes were filled with resentment and jealousy as she looked at me.
"I've been fired from the company. This city can't accommodate me anymore. I have to go back to my hometown," she said.
"Going back home is also an option. A diamond shines wherever it is. I wish you well," I replied coolly.
Irina was infuriated by my demeanor. She slammed her hand on the table and cursed at me:
"Who do you think you're fooling? You must be thrilled that you've won, right? Your husband and son belong to you again."
"They are their own individuals, as am I. There's no 'belonging' here," I responded indifferently.
"You fake bitch! I never want to see you again!"
Irina glared at me fiercely before storming out. As she reached the door, she suddenly turned back, tears in her eyes, and spat out venomously: "I fucking hate you. Why do you get so much love?"
