Chapter 4

The man was subdued by neighbors, and I was also loaded into an ambulance.

The knife had cut a large gash in my shoulder, causing me to break out in a cold sweat from the pain.

Everything happened so suddenly. I was still shaking, immersed in fear.

At that moment, I really needed some comfort, even just a little bit would do.

So, I called my husband.

"Elio, I'm at the hospital. Please come quickly."

"What's going on? I'm working overtime right now." My husband's tone was clearly impatient. His end was also too noisy, not like an office, but more like a restaurant.

"I was stabbed. I'm covered in blood. It hurts so much. Please come quickly."

Hearing my husband's voice, my tears suddenly started flowing, as if pouring out all the injustice I had suffered.

But the next second, my husband's words made me feel like I was falling into a bottomless pit.
