84 The Girl and the Cannon

[Buffer backpack confirmed]

[Automatic balance system off]

[Ark Reactor working normally]

[Energy capacitor fully charged]

[Prototype Anti-Armor Electromagnetic Railgun "Meteor" deployed]

"Hey, Sister, Bucky, are you both okay?"

Kagura Hitomi slowly stood up, gripping the prototype electromagnetic railgun with both hands.

"Here's the anti-armor cannon you asked for."

When helping Obadiah develop the Iron Man suit, Hitomi had mentioned the concept of an electromagnetic cannon.

However, the energy required for such a weapon was incredibly high, and the materials and capacitors needed were also extremely demanding.

On top of that, it was difficult to miniaturize.

After an initial attempt, she had given up.

Now, the portable electromagnetic railgun in her hands was powered by an independent Ark Reactor, paired with superconducting capacitors.

Although it used the most advanced technology from Rhodes Island Industries and solved previous technical issues, it still couldn't fire continuously.

After 4-5 shots, the Ark Reactor would be drained completely.

"My god, that thing looks insane. Could I get one for my arm?"

Bucky said, grinning. "I bet it'd be such a thrill."

"Sorry, Bucky." Kagura smiled.

"If I put this on your arm, it'd be way too heavy for you."

She adjusted the targeting device on her visor and lined up the crosshairs on the next unmanned combat suit.

"And your mini-capacitor wouldn't be able to handle its power consumption either."

'Boom!'

As they joked, the electromagnetic railgun lit up with a blue beam, firing again.

The girl bent her legs and stood in a stance like a bow, bracing herself against the massive recoil of the railgun.

A flash of light, and the railgun's projectile pierced through the chest of the unmanned combat suit, leaving a red-hot hole where the Ark Reactor would be.

Even with her advanced equipment, Kagura needed all her strength to hold the enormous anti-armor weapon.

It was definitely not a piece of gear meant for single-handed use.

"Hmm, looks like I'll need to make some improvements when I get back."

She watched the unmanned suit slowly fall to the ground.

"It's heavy, clunky, and ineffective—a failure."

"Sister, Bucky, I've got these robot covered."

"You two go check on what Ivan Vanko is up to in there. Be careful—if he's wearing an armored suit or something, retreat immediately."

"Don't engage directly."

"Got it." Natasha Romanoff replied and started to move.

"By the way, how many weird gadgets does Griffin actually have?"

"Oh, plenty!" Kagura smiled proudly.

"Basically, we can give you anything you want!"

"Sounds like I need to seriously consider joining Griffin." Natasha said, slipping through the gaps in the unmanned combat suit formation and entering the abandoned warehouse.

Bucky followed closely, dropping two "prism" devices to confuse the enemy, then slipping in through a side window.

"Alright, now then..."

Kagura pulled the magazine out of the railgun, aiming at the next combat suit.

"Who's the next unlucky soul?"

The unmanned combat suits slowly advanced, seemingly making Kagura their highest priority target while temporarily ignoring the lower-threat Natasha and Bucky.

When they got into range, a storm of bullets from the .50 caliber machine guns erupted.

Kagura instantly activated her "short-term boost" ability, sidestepping and rolling on the ground, narrowly avoiding the direct fire.

She then took advantage of their attempt to correct their aim and pulled the trigger again.

'Boom!'

A flash of light, and another unmanned combat suit dropped.

'Hmm, this is so fun!'

'It's like whack-a-mole!' Kagura smiled. "Well, only two left."

Ahead, the mechanical footsteps of two more combat suits joined the fight.

These were different from the previous models, now carrying eight-launcher multi-purpose missile systems on their shoulders.

The missile doors on the suits opened automatically, and infrared targeting locked onto Kagura.

[Multi-purpose missiles, threat level: high.]

[Explosion range marked.]

"Wow..." Kagura chuckled lightly. "Thanks for the hospitality!"

The next moment, missiles shot out with fiery trails, rapidly heading toward Kagura.

Kagura didn't waste a second, quickly firing off another shot from her railgun, disabling one of the suits before tossing the heavy weapon aside.

She then leaped, using her legs' strength to propel herself gracefully into the air.

'Boom!'

The explosion from the missile sent fire streaking behind her, illuminating her elegant form.

While leaping, Kagura extended her right hand, activating the darts hidden in her arm.

The darts, attached to thin wires, shot out and pierced the final unmanned combat suit.

"Electroshock darts, activate!"

With a precise 6% drop in the core energy, the three shock darts sent powerful currents through the suit's systems, disabling it completely.

'Zzzt—'

The wires started to retract automatically, and Kagura, using the tension from the wire, soared through the air in a perfect arc, rushing behind the combat suit.

'Boom!'

The wires detached at just the right moment, and Kagura twisted mid-air, pulling out a blade.

'Vroom—!'

Her vibranium folding sword sliced through the weak spot of the combat suit, cutting it cleanly in half.

"Done!"

Kagura landed lightly and turned to stow the blade.

'Boom!' The destroyed suit exploded, sending flames rising behind her.

Kagura stood tall, walking toward the warehouse, letting the blast's aftermath tousle her hair.

The beautiful girl never looks back at explosions!

"Hitomi, can you hear me?"

A voice came over the comms.

"I can hear you, Natasha. What happened?"

"I think we're going to need more firepower to capture Ivan Vanko..."

Just as she finished speaking, a flash of electricity erupted from the warehouse, sparks flying everywhere.

Natasha Romanoff leaped out of a window, narrowly dodging a high-temperature electric whip that lashed out at her.

On the other side of the warehouse, the wall was torn apart, and Bucky Barnes was retreating, his left arm transformed into a shield.

The energy-deflecting shield was great against kinetic weapons like bullets, but it was much less effective against the high-temperature electric whip.

Though the shield, made of titanium alloy, managed to block the attacks, it was heavily damaged, with a deep crack running through the surface.

"Ivan Vanko."

The girl narrowed her golden eyes and slowly spoke the name of the enemy...
