The promise that Black Widow made should be considered a cooperative deal in Luke's opinion—it was a win-win for both him and Nick Fury. Boiled Egg needs his strength, and he needs adamantium. The two sides hit it off and achieved mutual benefit. Nick Fury, however, seemed a little worried; soon after, he had a phone call with Luke in person.
"I heard that the big guy has been built," Nick Fury inquired.
"It's no problem to go out, but every outing is very expensive. Will you reimburse the gas money?" Luke replied.
"What do you want?" Nick Fury asked directly, not mincing words.
"Another 50 kilograms of secondary adamantium!" Luke declared.
Nick Fury, accustomed to Luke's extravagant demands, cut the request by more than half. "Twenty kilograms," he countered.
"Deal!" Luke decided, opting to quit while he was ahead.
"Keep the situation under control for me. There can't be too many civilian casualties," Nick Fury instructed seriously.
"Got it. Huh? It seems to be quite cold over there—and it's snowing," Luke observed during a video call with Nick Fury, noticing a vast world of ice and snow behind him.
"I'm at the North Pole," came the reply.
"The North Pole? Why are you going so far?" Luke pressed.
"Do your job well," Nick Fury said curtly before disconnecting.
"Tsk. If you don't tell me, do you think I don't know? I'm afraid he has found Captain America," Luke muttered nonchalantly. He thought that, judging by the time, Thor should be coming to Earth soon. He recalled that Thor and Iron Man 2 had been co-produced, and that soon after Thor, Avengers would be released—New York would face an alien invasion. Time was running out, so he had to work harder.
A happy smile suddenly appeared on Luke's face.
"What are you laughing at?" came a voice from the fish tank behind him. Ross—Luke's ever-observant assistant—reminded him that the last time he had seen the human on the screen, things had been quite different.
Luke grinned as he replied, "Nick Fury gave me a legitimate opportunity to cause trouble. He didn't know I was already there. Well, the reputation tonight is mine, and he'll take the blame—and reap some benefits afterward. Do you think Nick Fury is a good person?"
"Now that you mention it, I kind of like this human," Ross said seriously.
Later that night, a giant 6‑meter‑high mecha suddenly appeared in the night sky outside the chaotic venue. The first to discover this enormous machine was a group of reporters. Such a massive robot suspended in midair immediately stunned everyone.
"Apostle!" someone quickly recognized it. Although it was much larger than the last time Luke had seen it, its unique style was unmistakable. In this world, the Apostle was probably one of a kind—and it still looked incredibly cool.
Cameramen hurriedly carried their equipment and focused on the G-0 War Lord. In the darkness, the giant mecha—dressed in black, white, and gold with a red cloak fluttering majestically behind it—looked like a master standing against the wind, silently awaiting its moment.
Breaking news footage soon showed the figures of the apostles at the venue. After a month, the mysterious apostle had captured the world's attention for the second time; this was also the first appearance of the G-0 War Lord in this world. Although many cameras filmed Luke, most still tracked Tony in the air—clearly, the Apostle's popularity still paled in comparison to that of Iron Man.
At that moment, Luke's airborne radar indicated that small targets were approaching rapidly. Looking down from the air, he saw a team of Hammer Steel soldiers painted in sea blue suddenly rush out of the venue. There were many people inside, and the fleeing crowd spread in all directions as these steel soldiers ruthlessly activated the missile launchers on their shoulders at the entrance.
Luke recalled this scene from the movie: these iron soldiers, controlled by Ivan Vanko, fired missiles into the crowd, causing chaos and heavy casualties. Luke felt compelled to intervene. On the one hand, he had promised Nick Fury to protect the civilians at the scene; on the other, in his eyes, these Hammer Steel soldiers were not enemies but walking U.S. dollars—each armed with missiles he had coveted for so long, each missile worth hundreds of thousands.
"Christina! Quickly analyze the attack point. I want to cut in and seize their weapons and equipment," Luke ordered.
"Yes, Master!" came the prompt reply.
Everyone watched as the Apostle Mech in the air suddenly lit up and then descended like a meteorite.
Boom—
When the huge machine landed, the ground shook slightly. The Apostle did not pause; after landing, it rushed directly toward the Hammer Steel Soldiers with surprising speed. People had never seen such a massive robot—it was almost unimaginable that it could burst forth with such incredible swiftness.
In an instant, it reached the entrance of the venue. In front of a group of steel soldiers, the Apostle Mecha's eyes lit up once more, and a giant sword—6.5 meters long and 1 meter wide—appeared out of thin air. The colossal mecha half-crouched with extraordinary flexibility, swinging its arm with the giant sword from left to right in a wide arc.
"Draw your sword and slash!" it seemed to command.
The camera failed to capture the entire swing; only a sharp whistle was heard, followed by a clear image of the 6‑meter‑tall mecha poised coolly at the end of its sword swing. Half a second later—
Boom!
The Iron Soldier in front of Luke was cleaved in half by the sword! Sparks flew from the broken end, yet there was no explosion; the Iron Soldier collapsed immediately, rendered incapable of further combat. Then, boom, boom—several steel soldiers were split into two pieces one after another, sliding to the ground and being declared scrapped.
The remaining iron soldiers quickly turned around, raised their arms, and aimed at Luke as their machine guns unleashed a barrage of fire. Accompanied by the continuous screams of the fleeing crowd, the relentless "da da da" of gunfire echoed, instantly enveloping the entire venue.
Yet the Apostle stood unmoved. This level of firepower was merely a tickle to the G-0 War Lord, whose surface was coated with secondary adamantium. The contrast in body size was stark—the War Lord, at 6 meters tall and wide, stood like a massive steel wall over two stories high, while the Hammer Steel Soldiers, barely 2 meters tall, looked like a pile of toys beneath its feet.
In the cockpit, Luke gripped the joystick, raised the giant sword, and pressed the pedal—sending the mecha surging forward. In the next second, he maneuvered the machine closer to the iron soldiers.
"Phantom Sword Dance!" he commanded.
Twenty-four sword strikes erupted in different directions and angles, rendering the War Lord's figure into a blurry phantom. Some spectators even mistakenly thought it was moving in several directions simultaneously.
"Cut! Cut!! Cut!!!"
One Iron Soldier's arm was severed at the root. Another had its head chopped off. Yet another was split in half. All the steel soldiers were vanquished by that single sword. When the battle timer stopped, the displayed time read 13 seconds. From the moment Luke landed until all the Iron Soldiers fell, only 13 seconds had elapsed.
The live broadcast spread across the United States, leaving American viewers in stunned silence. Women paled, and men felt an indescribable surge of emotion churn within their chests. At that moment, viewers were perplexed by the Apostle's bizarre behavior.
The Apostle then thrust its enormous mecha sword into the ground, driving it deep. After that, it strode over to the discarded steel soldiers, raised its unusually large posterior, bent over, and began to search…
