When Luke saw Peter Parker in danger, he immediately rushed to save him.
Peter Parker slowly raised his hand and silently pointed it at the Iron Soldier.
"Huh?" The sight made Luke freeze for a moment. He recognized this scene from the movie.
Luke quickly realized.
The little boy in the movie is actually Spider-Man?
Tony acted faster than Luke.
As soon as the G-0 War Lord activated, Tony was already airborne.
The Mark VI's performance was displayed in full force.
The Mark VI shot up into the sky like a red meteor, reaching mid-air before diving back down, leaping over ten meters and knocking the steel soldier away with one punch.
Then, he turned and fired a palm pulse cannon, blasting the fallen soldier into scrap metal.
"Good job, kid."
Tony saved Peter Parker and praised him for his bravery in using the "palm cannon."
He added casually, "But your gear is... uh..."
Tony meant to say "not quite like mine."
However, when Peter Parker turned around, Tony was speechless to see that the person he had been imitating wasn't him at all.
It was the Apostle!
The mask Peter Parker wore was definitely not Iron Man's.
From Luke's perspective, it looked more like Kira Yamato's Strike Freedom.
In other words, Peter Parker was wearing the head of the aerial combat mecha, Tornado, which was the Apostle mask.
As for the palm cannon in Peter Parker's hand... well, that wasn't a palm cannon. God only knew what it was. Maybe it once was a palm cannon, but it certainly wasn't anymore.
Tony fell silent for a moment.
Once Peter Parker was safe, Luke halted the mecha and observed Tony's silence with amusement.
He clearly remembered this moment. In the movie, Tony had rescued a little boy wearing an Iron Man mask, with a palm cannon in hand.
He hadn't expected that the little boy was actually Spider-Man!
Luke wondered if this was part of the plot, or if his presence had caused some interesting butterfly effect.
Unfortunately, there was no way to verify it.
But what was certain was that the person Tony rescued was definitely a genuine Apostle fan.
Luke could imagine Tony's expression beneath his suit—one that probably looked like he had just eaten a fly.
Did Tony think everyone in the world was an Iron Man fan?
No, things hadn't been like that since the Apostles arrived! It might be time for the older generation to retire and enjoy their golden years.
Luke sighed. Then he muttered to Spider-Man in his mind, "Man, that was a great assist!"
Just then, a middle-aged man rushed over, looking at Luke and Tony nervously, before taking Peter Parker away.
That must be Peter Parker's Uncle Ben.
Luke saw Peter Parker looking back and waving at him.
Luke controlled the huge mecha arm and waved back.
Peter Parker, upon seeing him, became ecstatic.
System prompt: Peter Parker's favorability +5.
System prompt: Peter Parker's favorability has reached 100 points.
System prompt: Peter Parker's abilities are being copied...
"Eh!!"
A series of prompts made Luke's anticipation rise immediately.
Finally! What new skill will he secretly gain?
Meanwhile, the few Iron Soldiers that had appeared were dealt with by Tony in a few swift moves.
Tony approached Luke.
He asked, "Why are you here? What do you know about tonight's events? Where is Ivan Vanko?"
"S.H.I.E.L.D. hired me to assist you in handling the situation." Luke shrugged and said, "As for Ivan Vanko, how should I know him?"
"It seems your fee is too low. They can't afford to hire me." Tony said, then stopped asking further questions.
Luke thought to himself, he should go and report this to Nick Fury.
Tony was comparing the Iron Monger in his memory with the War Lord before him.
In the end, he had to admit that this larger, heavier mech was more agile than the Iron Overlord, and its technology was clearly more advanced than the smaller model from last time.
Jarvis' analysis showed that apart from a weapon resembling a jet nozzle at the mecha's crotch, no other weapons were found mounted on the War Lord.
"What the hell does this thing use to attack?" Tony asked, confused.
As he spoke, War Machine, Rhodey, flew down from the sky.
"Tony, watch out!" Rhodey warned.
From the very beginning, this Mark II-modified suit had been used as the main fighting force by Ivan Vanko, sticking to Tony. If Tony hadn't been worried about his good friend Rhodey being inside, he would've destroyed it long ago.
Tony was well aware of War Machine's destructive power.
He immediately said to Luke, "Apostle, can you fly? There are too many people here. Let's take this somewhere else to fight."
The radar showed that more than a dozen Iron Soldiers were flying in from somewhere nearby.
Luke remembered that there weren't that many Iron Soldiers in the movie. Clearly, reality had deviated from the movie's plot.
Tony didn't wait for Luke to respond and took off first, leading War Machine away.
Luke followed closely, a huge burst of fire shooting from the soles of the 6-meter-tall War Lord's feet as it rocketed into the air.
Luke quickly caught up with the War Lord, matching Iron Man's speed.
Tony was amazed by the abnormal flying speed. It was obvious this massive machine had a powerful drive system that Tony couldn't understand.
"It's the beta element," Tony concluded. He was certain this massive machine used that kind of magic stone as its power source.
Behind them, War Machine, Rhodey, and more than a dozen Iron Soldiers followed closely.
"There's a wetland park down below. Let's take the fight there."
Tony noticed a suitable spot below where no civilians would be harmed, so he suggested to Luke.
At that moment, War Machine suddenly accelerated, charged forward, and tackled Tony, just like the day Tony tackled Luke while he was piloting the Tornado. The two of them plummeted to the ground together.
Luke was astonished.
"This shock absorption technology is incredible. They didn't fall to their deaths. This is much higher than the height Tony and I fell from last time."
On the ground in the wetland park, Tony and Rhodey struggled with each other.
War Machine mounted Iron Man and fired the Gatling gun at Tony relentlessly.
Tony gripped the Gatling gun's barrel tightly, bullets raining down on him, dirt and grass flying. The heavy weight of the War Machine kept the Mark VI pinned, preventing Tony from moving.
Tony turned to Luke, who was slowly descending. "Aren't you going to help?"
"Believe me, you've got this." Luke responded nonchalantly.
Tony was furious, nearly spitting blood. Didn't you promise to help?
Luke remained unmoved, seemingly waiting for something.
At that moment, Rhodey suddenly saw the words "System Unlocked" flash in front of him, and War Machine's systems powered down. The lights in its eyes went out, and Rhodey was kicked off by Tony, crashing heavily to the ground.
Tony suddenly received a video call: "The system is restarting. Your good friend has been rescued." It was Black Widow.
"Thanks, Agent Romanov. You're much more reliable than someone else." Tony sighed in relief.
"We'll talk later, Tony. I see a large number of enemies coming your way." Black Widow said, her tone serious.
She was currently inside Hammer Industries' building.
She and Happy had broken through the layers of security, but had failed to locate Ivan Vanko.
Soon, Luke and Tony's radars picked up more than thirty Iron Soldiers!
Luke was stunned.
Where did they all come from?
This was far more than what had been shown in the movie.
Moments later, more than thirty Iron Soldiers dropped down from the sky, surrounding Luke and the others like a swarm.
A hoarse, ominous voice echoed from one of the Iron Soldier speakers: "Apostle. Did you think I would be unprepared after the last time? These are specifically for you. Die with Stark!"
