I'm Waiting for You in the Garden, Lin Yuhuan

"Oh, so she stayed?" Lin Yuhuan asked.

The maid shook her head. "In the end, Madam convinced Master to let her stay. But Second Miss said that if she saw you come back, she would be waiting for you in the garden."

Lin Yuhuan nodded, showing that she understood Lin Weiwei's message.

After delivering the message, the maid turned and went about her own business.

Although Lin Yuhuan knew Lin Weiwei was waiting in the garden, she had no intention of going to see her.

Even though summer was near, the night air was still chilly.

She wanted Lin Weiwei to experience the feeling of waiting in the cold.

After returning to her room, Lin Yuhuan took a warm bath.

After drying off, she lay on the bed and picked up a book.

But before she could read more than a few pages, the door was pushed open.

Lin Weiwei came in, bringing the damp night air with her. Her face was full of anger as she glared at Lin Yuhuan.

"Lin Yuhuan! You knew I was waiting for you in the garden. Why didn't you come?"

Lin Yuhuan casually flipped a page of her book. "I knew. But does that mean I had to go? Besides, I don't think we have anything to talk about."

"Lin Yuhuan! We have no grudges between us. You don't have to keep holding a grudge against me just because of An Yi! Do you know that because of you, I got beaten by Dad today?" Lin Weiwei felt so wronged.

She didn't even know how Lin Yuhuan managed to know so much.

Ever since Lin Yuhuan's birthday party, Lin Weiwei hadn't had a peaceful day.

Hearing that Lin Weiwei had been beaten, Lin Yuhuan lazily raised her eyes.

Seeing the clear slap mark on Lin Weiwei's previously fair face, it seemed that Father Lin had indeed hit her hard.

"If I remember correctly, your mother also slapped you at my birthday party. And when Song Yingjun hit you, she didn't seem to hold back either," Lin Yuhuan said with a smirk.

"But back then, there was no mark left on your face. It seems that Song Yingjun was just putting on a show," she added, her lips curling into a mocking smile.

Lin Weiwei was furious. "Do you have any manners? My mom is also your mom! What right do you have to call her by her name?"

"Song Yingjun is not my mom," Lin Yuhuan said coldly. "My mother left this family when I was young. I have nothing to do with Song Yingjun, and I don't need a hypocritical and insincere stepmother like her."

She found it ridiculous that Lin Weiwei would even bring this up.

For the past ten years, Song Yingjun had done everything she could to frame her.

A person like that had no right to be called her mother.

"Lin Yuhuan! How can you say such things? Are you even human?" Lin Weiwei's voice rose sharply.

Lin Yuhuan, annoyed by her noise, frowned.

"Okay, stop yelling in my room. Your voice is giving me a headache."

"What's going on? Why are you two arguing again?" Song Yingjun's voice rang out just in time.

But because she appeared so conveniently, Lin Yuhuan couldn't help but wonder if she had been secretly listening to their conversation.

"What else? It's just your daughter coming to embarrass herself in front of me again," Lin Yuhuan said bluntly.

Since the birthday party, Lin Yuhuan had been targeting Lin Weiwei at every turn.

Even now, in front of her own mother, she didn't bother to save her any face.

Lin Weiwei's expression twisted with anger.

She wanted to rush at Lin Yuhuan, but Song Yingjun grabbed her arm.

Song Yingjun's face darkened slightly.

"Yuhuan, I know you have a prejudice against Weiwei, but no matter what, she is still your sister. Can you be more careful with your words?"

Lin Yuhuan twirled a strand of her long hair between her fingers. "She was the one who provoked me first. Am I not allowed to fight back? Or is it because I'm an orphan that I don't even have the right to speak in the Lin family? Even after my fiancé was stolen by my stepsister?"

Song Yingjun's face darkened with anger, her temples throbbing.

Lin Weiwei's affair with her stepbrother wasn't reported in the newspapers, but in high society, everyone knew she had been a mistress while still underage.

As a stepmother and stepsister, their identities were already awkward and unpopular.

If they weren't careful, they would become the laughingstock of the upper class.

Song Yingjun forced herself to stay calm.

Back then, she had schemed to marry Lin Tianyi, and she had spent over ten years building her reputation as a good stepmother.

She had put in so much effort, she couldn't afford to fail now.

"Yuhuan, you haven't been in a good mood lately. Auntie understands you. You should rest well. I'll take Weiwei out first," Song Yingjun said.

She pulled Lin Weiwei's hand and forcibly dragged her out of Lin Yuhuan's room, ignoring her protests.

Once outside, Lin Weiwei felt even more upset. "Mom, you heard how disrespectful Lin Yuhuan was to you just now, didn't you?"

"I heard," Song Yingjun said, her face livid. "I heard that little brat insulting me."

Lin Weiwei was frustrated with her mother's passive attitude. "Then why didn't we go straight to Dad and make her pay for what she said?"

Song Yingjun glanced at Lin Weiwei. "Why are you so stupid? Let Lin Yuhuan be happy for now. No matter how happy she is, it won't last more than a month. If she doesn't find a rich husband by then, she'll be stuck in the mud for the rest of her life."

Hearing this, Lin Weiwei couldn't help but smile.

But she was still a little worried. "But what if she does find a rich husband?"

"Impossible. With Lin Yuhuan's reputation, who would marry her? If it weren't for the business cooperation between the An family and the Lin family, would An Yi have even agreed to marry her?"

Song Yingjun had lived in the upper class for many years.

She understood the game well.

Those who were truly capable of running a business were all shrewd and calculating.

They spoke of love and loyalty on the surface, but in reality, their own interests always came first.

"Mom, you're right. Let's let Lin Yuhuan enjoy herself for a month," Lin Weiwei said, her eyes full of malice.

Song Yingjun reminded her, "Good. You understand now. But during this month, don't get into any more conflicts with her. Understood?"
