Severing the Parent-Child Relationship

Fu Xichen bent down and picked him up.

The little hand was icy cold, and the small face was scrunched up tightly as he rested against Fu Xichen's broad shoulder.

Suddenly, the boy woke up from his dream, rubbing his sleepy eyes.

His body stiffened.

"Why is it you?! You big liar! Put me down!"

Little Bao realized he was being carried by Fu Xichen and started punching his shoulder.

This little guy really hated him!

Fu Xichen glanced at him casually and let go of his hand.

Little Bao tumbled to the ground, then immediately pointed at him angrily.

"I came here today to settle the score with you!"

This little guy didn't even know who his real father was.

But Fu Xichen was in a good mood today, having just closed a big deal, so he ignored him.

He loosened his tie and walked into the room without looking back.

Little Bao followed him in, but Fu Xichen quickly pushed him out, leaving him at the door.

"I'm tired. Be quiet!" Fu Xichen warned, lowering his head.

"You promised to find a doctor to help my mommy, but last night she still had to take medicine just to feel better! You're a big liar who doesn't keep his word!"

Little Bao might be young, but he knew that if Fu Xichen had the power to make the hospital torture his mother, then he also had the power to find the best doctor to treat her.

"Medicine? What medicine?" Fu Xichen's deep eyes flashed with confusion.

"My mommy is sick and has been taking medicine all the time. It's really bitter. She's already miserable enough for meeting a big villain like you, and you even sent people to torture her and make her work so hard!"

Little Bao scolded him, but Fu Xichen only frowned.

He didn't feel anything, and the moment passed quickly.

His eyes returned to their usual coldness.

"If she can't even handle a little housework, then I think she's better off leaving."

"Mommy has to clean the entire yard by herself. Could you do it?"

The yard of this villa was divided into a front and back yard, as big as several football fields.

Fu Xichen fell silent.

In the yard, Wen Yiran finally collapsed from exhaustion.

She had no strength left.

Her body, already weakened by electric shock, couldn't handle several hours of physical labor in a row.

But she endured it because she wanted to stay here.

Now, all she could do was watch the yellow leaves fall from the trees, burying her.

Her body was cold.

Her hands and feet were numb.

She tried hard not to close her eyes because she was afraid that if she did, she wouldn't wake up again.

The sky gradually brightened. Xiao Bao's eyes were swollen like steamed buns.

Fu Anxuan sat beside him with a gloomy expression, while Fu Xichen paced around the living room.

"Brother, I'm so scared!"

Xiao Bao leaned his little head against Fu Anxuan's shoulder, crying with snot and tears.

Fu Anxuan gently patted his small shoulder to comfort him.

Wen Yiran had been missing since last night.

It was like she had vanished into thin air.

"Mommy's body isn't strong, and she worked hard all day. She must have fainted from exhaustion."

Little Bao cried even louder, worried sick.

Fu Xichen frowned.

He took a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and started smoking.

The smoke curled up, just like his emotions.

He couldn't tell if he was anxious or just annoyed.

Finally, the long-awaited phone call came.

Fu Xichen immediately answered, extinguished the cigarette in the ashtray, and listened with a cold expression.

The two little ones perked up their ears.

Soon, he hung up.

Little Bao asked urgently, "Is there any news about Mommy?"

Fu Xichen shook his head.

"A person can't just disappear like that. Someone must have helped her from both inside and outside."

His eyes darkened slightly as if he already knew something.

His cold expression became even gloomier.

Little Bao's expression changed, and he frowned. "My mommy wouldn't run away with someone else! She would never leave me alone!"

Fu Xichen sneered, his gaze mocking.

"Don't overestimate your place in your mommy's heart. She signed an agreement to sever the parent-child relationship with you."

Fu Xichen planned to take advantage of Wen Yiran's disappearance to convince Little Bao to give up on her completely.

If Wen Yiran dared to run away with another man, then she would never see her child again in this lifetime.

"You liar! My mommy loves me so much! How could she sign something like that?!"

Little Bao defended Wen Yiran without hesitation.

"Go to the third drawer in my study and get the agreement," Fu Xichen said.

Today, he was determined to shut Little Bao up.

Little Bao hesitated.

He leaned close to Fu Anxuan and whispered, "Brother, do you think Mommy really doesn't want us anymore?"

Fu Anxuan frowned and shook his head. "I don't know. We'll see when the butler brings the agreement."

A moment later, the butler came down holding a file folder.

Fu Xichen personally opened it and spread the documents out in front of them.

"Can you read it? If not, I'll have someone read it for you. Butler!"

Little Bao snorted and rolled his eyes at Fu Xichen. "I already go to school! I can read it myself!"

He immediately pointed his little finger at the title of the agreement but didn't say anything for a long time.

The first word confused him.

Little Bao looked at Fu Anxuan, pleading for help.

Before Fu Anxuan could react, Fu Xichen spoke up. "The word you're pointing at is pronounced 'duan'."

Little Bao pouted and muttered, "I don't need you to teach me! I'm already in preschool and know that word!"

Then, he read the title out loud: "Severance of Parent-Child Relationship Agreement!"

After finishing, he gave Fu Xichen a smug look.

Actually, he had only memorized a few words—"relationship," "child," and "agreement"—and guessed the rest.

The butler gently corrected him, "Young Master, you read it wrong. It's 'Parent-Child Relationship Severance Agreement'."

"It doesn't matter! Even if you printed so many words, how does that prove my mommy agreed?!"

Little Bao's face was red, but he still bravely argued.

"That's easy to prove."

Fu Anxuan couldn't watch anymore, so he turned to the last page and pointed at the bottom. "There's a signature here."

Little Bao stared at it in disbelief.

His little nose turned sour, and tears welled up.

He recognized the handwriting.

It was indeed his mommy's signature.

"No! Mommy must have been forced by you, you big bully! Mommy would never abandon me!"

With that, Little Bao ran upstairs crying.

Fu Xichen's eyes darkened. "Keep an eye on him. Don't let him disappear again!"

After instructing Fu Anxuan, he left the house.
