Chapter 2: Confetti

Andy spent his last few hours floating around, trying to adapt to his body and trying to see his surroundings to see if he can't find any clues about where he was. However, it has been a series of failures, floating and hitting the trees. The only thing he has figured out is that he has no talent at all especially when being in the wisp body which is very hard to control.

"Focus," Lira had told him. " you just need to tap into abundant mana around you."

But that was easier said than done, the forest was full of mana, and Andy could feel it, in a vague, mystical sense. But he has no idea how to tap or harness the mana. It wasn't like he had hands to grasp it, or a body to channel it. He was just floating around aimlessly, trying to figure out if there was some type of secret magic button he had to press.

"Ah! I still don't get it," Andy shouted to himself or, rather, flickered to himself. 'how I am going to absorb the mana with this wisp body, just how?'

While he was thinking what to do, lira was sitting on the beach of a nearby tree watching his every move with a smile on her face.

" First of all," she said. Her voice was a little sarcastic, "Stop whining like a child. Second, try absorbing the mana in the air."

Andy looked at her with an uncertain gaze. " how can I do that? I mean, I am kind of .. just a wisp here. No hands, no mouth. No nothing."

"you are just overthinking it," Lira replied rolling her eyes. "Mana is like the air that you breathe you can absorb. You just need to feel it and try to take it in. And don't always say I am a wisp what can I do you just don't know what a wisp can do.

"Mana is like air? Okay, fine I will try it," Andy said, even though he was starting to suspect that she was just messing around him. Still, he didn't have much else to go on, so why not just listen to her and give it a shot? So he concentrated, trying to feel the mana around him. It was harder than he thought, like trying to catch a breeze with a net. But again, he felt a strange sensation around him like there was something that he could take in, like it was waiting for me to take it in me.

" Well, this feels weird," Andy said, as he tried absorbing the mana around him.

"you are doing well," Lira cheering for him from the side. "keep going, that's it keep absorbing don't hold back.

It feels awkward being encouraged by her at least I am not being discouraged I should be happy. Andy focused harder. As he focused on trying to absorb the mana. He started to float around and slowly went through the forest and reached a place which is full of flowers. It was too beautiful like it was heaven. As he passed by a violet flower, he instinctively reached out as if he had hands, that's it.

But to his surprise, the moment his body came into contact with the flower, the mana inside it surged toward him. H he absorbed all of it and felt a sudden surge of energy within him.

and then

BOOM.

A loud explosion sound echoed Through the forest, followed by a burst of rainbow-colored confetti that rained down everywhere. All the flowers near him were completely obliterated, reduced to a sparkling storm of pearls and confetti.

"What in the world.." Andy muttered, his body again reformed. He didn't mean to do that. He was not trying to turn the flowers into a confetti cannon.

Lira, of course, was laughing out loud from the top of a nearby tree.

"See? That's the kind of power I am talking about," she chuckled. " you have got magic, my friend. It is just it little chaotic and difficult to control. Welcome to the world of wisp hood."

Andy floated, stunned, staring at all the beautiful flowers that now turned into a confetti Strom. It only took him 2 seconds to turn this place into a disaster. Wow great now he has a destructive force of nature. How was he supposed to deal with this?

"Now," Lira continued, wiping a tear from her eye from laughing, her stomach hurt from laughing. "ah, don't let this discourage you. Magic is unpredictable, and many people fail to even sense it for days if not months, let alone a few minutes. But you, you have potential for it. You just need to practice to control it.

"I. I didn't mean to do that it just suddenly happened," Andy said, flickering in embarrassment. "I thought, I was supposed to just absorb some mana, but it turned into a party explosion."

"That's the fun part of being a wisp," Lira said as if she could hear what he was saying. "you get to blow stuff up without even trying to. It's like being a walking fireworks show."

Andy sighs. He head by spinning.

"Alright, alright," he said, trying to calm himself down. "maybe I should try something else for now or let's try just absorb some more mana without, you know blowing stuff again."

Lira raised an eyebrow, clearly doubtful. "are you sure about that? Because that was just too hilarious, and I could watch you cause chaos all day without getting bored."

Despite her teasing, Andy was still determined to at least try to control the man at least one time. He floated around a bit more slowly this time, and this time he went slowly towards the flowers that were not destroyed, a small, glowing lily. He slowly hovered around it, focusing his energy on absorbing the mana without triggering a cataclysmic reaction.

This time, nothing has exploded. The lily's glow started to become a little dimmer as the mana was being absorbed into Andy's form. He felt a little strange, calming sensation flow through him. He had successfully absorbed the mana this time without causing a disaster. A little progress.

"Oh! Hey. I did it," Andy said, he was surprised at how much easier it felt the second time was.

"Well, look at you for a second," Lira remarked, her tone was a little bit mocking but surprised. "I guess you are not a complete disaster yet.

Andy couldn't help but grub a little. "I am string to get the hang of this. The magic doesn't seem that hard."

"don't get cocky," she warned. "you are still a wisp without hands or anything. There is nothing much you can do with that much magic and as a wisp, it only gets harder."

"I will take what I can get," Andy said, determination flickering through his light. "but I still think I am ready for something more."

Lira raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical about it. " oh? Like what?"

"I don't know. Maybe something that doesn't involve turning flowers into a confetti storm?"

Lira laughed out very loud echoing through the forest. "good luck with that."

And with that, Andy's journey into the world of magic which is chaotic and unpredictable has officially begun.
