Chapter 6

During the evening, Justin stood at the window of his room and made the signal to reassure his men. He lit a candle, blew it out and lit it again.

He saw the same glow at the edge of the forest. Twice.

They had seen him and wanted to talk to him. They certainly had information on those who wanted to kill Brennan.

But how to do it?

When he was sure that the duke was asleep, he would relight a candle to warn them that he was going out.

Brennan couldn't sleep. He thought about the young man sleeping in the room next to his and he was dying to go there to see Justin snuggled in his arms.

An infinite tenderness settled in his heart when he thought of him.

For him, it was obvious.

The moment he laid eyes on him in that tavern, he had fallen madly in love with him.

It had taken him a while to understand what was happening to him, but now he was sure.

He had to see him! He had to tell him!

He had a feeling that Justin had feelings for him too, otherwise he would have pushed him away when he kissed him.

Should he wait until morning or go right away?

He got up. Anyway, he had been tossing and turning in his bed for hours without being able to sleep and the day was going to break soon.

As he was about to open his bedroom door, he heard Justin's open.

He still wasn't asleep either?

He heard him walk past his door and waited a few minutes before following him.

He didn't want to give him the impression that he was spying on him.

He was nervous. It was the first time he was in love and he didn't know how to go about it.

Besides, Justin seemed so soft and fearful that he was afraid of shocking him. He could see when he kissed him that he wasn't used to things like that.

Justin groped his way through the dark and out the back door.

Everyone was asleep. It was the perfect opportunity to see his men.

He headed toward the stables and waited.

A few moments later, he saw Paulie crouching in the bushes not far from there.

As soon as he saw him, the latter joined Justin and patted him on the shoulder, happy that he was safe and sound.

However, he frowned and scolded him:

-You deserve a beating, son! We were eating our hearts out, us! And we had no way of knowing if you were okay!

-And the others, are they okay?

-Yes, no one hurt.

Justin breathed easier:

-Were you able to find out more about the one who tried to kill Brennan?

He spat on the ground before answering:

-We heard in the London underworld that an aristo paid a lot of money to eliminate him but we don't know who it is. It's not going to be easy to get him out of his lair.

He spat on the ground again:

-We should set a trap for him.

Justin nodded:

-I'll think about it but there's no way I'm putting Brennan in danger. I have to go.

You can say hello to the others.

-They're all waiting their turn to give you a good beating too! You're taking too many risks!

Justin laughed:

-That's why I'm the captain!

When he got back, Justin found himself face to face with Brennan.

He was sitting quietly at the kitchen table:

-You went somewhere...Justin?

Her icy expression sent a chill down his spine. He walked forward slowly, avoiding her gaze.

"I just went to get some air. I felt suffocating in my room."

He trembled slightly as he looked at him with his candid eyes:

-I feel safe with you because I know you protect me.

-I see.

Justin saw him get up and approach him. He mustn't look suspicious or their whole plan would fall apart.

He looked up at him with a tearful look, touching his forehead:

-I think I have a fever. It must be due to my injury.

Brennan was only inches away from him. He took her arm and pressed his forehead to hers.

"Indeed, you look burning."

Fascinated by her golden gaze that bewitched him and her lips so close to his mouth, Justin began to breathe more and more difficultly.

Brennan's hands slowly slid down his back and rested on his buttocks.

Before Justin could react quickly enough, he grabbed them and lifted him up, sticking him to his pelvis.

Justin grabbed his shoulders as he felt Brennan's hard, hot member throbbing against his own.

He closed his eyes for a few seconds, biting his lip as a wave of fire burned his stomach:

-Ahh...Brennan...

He tried to push him away but his body grew heavy with desire as the Duke's mouth took over his lips.

His wet tongue slipped between his teeth, savagely tormenting his own.

Justin's hands tightened on his shoulders as he was unable to resist the fire that consumed his insides and let himself be carried away by the passion.

Her mouth finally released him to attack his neck which she nibbled with delight while her hands began small pushes on his buttocks making him come into more or less violent contact with his hard member.

Panting, consumed with pleasure, Justin still had the strength to whisper:

-Stop...

He then heard her whisper in his ear:

- I want you in my bed...

Justin, no longer able to resist his sneaky attacks, was about to acquiesce when the kitchen door opened on Adams:

Impassive in the face of the scene before his eyes, he addressed the duke:

-Excuse me, sir duke. I heard a noise and so I allowed myself to come and check if everything was okay.

Justin threw himself back as Brennan let go of him and disappeared into his room, which he locked tightly.

He threw himself on his bed and closed his eyes.

My God! What had he done! He had almost slept with Brennan! If Adams hadn't come along, he would have let himself be taken right there on the kitchen table.

What a shame. He would never dare look him in the face again.

Yet, he couldn't help but stroke his member, still hard and wet from being manhandled like that by Brennan's.

He came in a final burst of shame.

Brennan, still shaken by desire, went to his office followed by James:

Green with rage, he addressed his butler:

-This freshwater sailor is hiding something from us. I surprised him talking with two of his accomplices behind the stables. It was too dark for me to see them clearly but there is no doubt about it, they were pirates.

-Did you hear what they were saying?

-No, but we'll have to keep a double eye on Justin.

-Do you think he wants to hurt you?

Brennan took her head in her hands and sighed:

-I don't know. He could just as easily be an accomplice of Red Flam, yet he was injured by our pursuers. So what is his goal?

-In any case, it all started with my research on Aaron's culprit.

I realize now how stupid I was to trust him blindly because of his pretty, candid face.

-You have nothing to reproach yourself for. You have always defended the weakest whenever you had the opportunity.

Brennan laughed, a laugh filled with resentment:

-And look where that got us!

It was really laughable.

He who had followed him to confess his love to him realized that he had been manipulated like a newbie.

He was not fooled. He only realized now the comedy that Justin had been playing on him since the beginning.

His tearful look telling him to protect me was only a facade.

He had fallen in love with a man who didn't exist.

His gaze flared with fury again:

-I'm going to act as if nothing happened and when he least expects it I'll make him spit out the truth!
