Chapter 7 - The Resonance of Magic
The day Richard vanished while fleeing from the three bullies.Maddison ran frantically, searching for Richard's mother. Her heart pounded with fear, a fear far greater than Richard's. As she dashed through the streets, she whispered to herself, "I'm just a small girl in this vast world. I can't help him with anything. I hope he can escape and hide where they can't find him. I'll do anything to help him. He's such a sweet and kind person, and I know he'd do whatever he could to help me if our roles were reversed. But it is what it is. I have to find his mother and see what we can do."These thoughts churned within her, and in that moment of desperate hope and resolve, Maddison unknowingly unlocked her latent magical powers. This was the secret the Grey Scorpion had kept from her, constantly trying to keep her broken and unaware of her true potential. Little did she know, her newfound abilities would aid Richard in ways she could never have imagined. Two weeks after Richard disappeared into Cadearus' Realm...Maddison's face was etched with worry as she spoke softly to Jean, her voice tinged with concern, "Jean, we have to keep searching outside the city. Richard could be in grave danger or maybe he's been kidnapped. No police station or hospital has any leads yet. We have to believe he's okay, Jean. Don't lose hope."Tears welled up in Jean's eyes as she replied, her voice trembling with guilt and sorrow, "I think he ran away, and it's all because of me. I pressured him into our family business, even though he didn't want to. I've been a terrible person and an even worse mother. Maybe this is punishment for me—losing my husband and now my son."Maddison embraced Jean tightly, feeling the weight of Richard's mother's anguish. She promised solemnly, "We'll find him, Jean. If the police can't, I will."Maddison searched tirelessly daily, combing through different places despite the Grey Scorpion's orders to stop. Her determination only grew when he wasn't around. As soon as he left, she would head out again, driven by the hope of finding Richard. When the Grey Scorpion disappeared for days, she devoted every waking moment to her search. One day, after a fruitless day of searching, Maddison returned home exhausted. Her thoughts were consumed with finding Richard, her mind racing with unanswered questions. She had even visited a woman named Mrs. Jasmine, who owned a sponsoring company, suspecting her involvement in Richard's disappearance. But despite her efforts, Maddison found no traces of the company. Mrs. Jasmine even came to Richard's mother's house looking for him. After hours of conversation, it became clear she wasn't behind Richard's disappearance.Overwhelmed by the day's events and the endless cycle of questions in her mind, Maddison decided to rest for a few hours. She hoped that sleep might bring her some clarity or, at the very least, a brief rest from her relentless worry.Maddison had a vivid and terrifying dream. She saw Richard, captured, his hands and legs tied, and his mouth gagged. A group of strange people surrounded him, their big ears and oddly colored skin creating an eerie scene. She woke up, breathing heavily, the dream feeling too real to be just a figment of her imagination. But what startled her even more was the sight of her hands glowing with an unfamiliar magic.Terrified, Maddison watched as the light in her hands merged and transformed into a person. Before she stood a figure who addressed her with a calm and regal tone, "Hello, dear princess. Finally, your full power has been unlocked. It is time to tell you what you are, and why your father kept you in the dark all this time."Maddison's fear gave way to confusion and curiosity as she listened, her mind struggling to grasp the reality of the situation. The figure continued, "Your father has kept your true nature hidden to be protected from you. But now, with your powers unlocked, you are ready to learn the truth about who you are and the destiny that awaits you."Maddison stared at the figure, speechless, before finally managing to say, "Who are you? And who am I?"The figure continued, "I am a guardian sent to guide you, and I was embedded to help you as soon as your power unlocked. You are the last of the pure mages. Before the Great War, many mages were thrown into this realm due to portals accidentally opened by the Pure mages. Your ancestors lived here, unable to return because the portals were sealed by the Phantom Sentinels."As the guardian spoke, Maddison listened intently. "After the Phantom Sentinels restored access to the portals, dark mages prevented the pure mages from returning. They crossed into this realm, hunting the remaining Pure Mages. For centuries, mages were born and killed here, until they found you."The guardian paused, looking at Maddison with a mix of sorrow and determination. "The Grey Scorpion manipulated your thoughts to control you. You were not raised in an orphanage; your family was killed in front of your eyes by The Grey Scorpion when you were just a child. He adopted and controlled you as his own, hiding this from the leader of the dark mages."Maddison's eyes widened with shock and disbelief. The memories that the Grey Scorpion had buried deep within her began to resurface, and the truth of her past became clear. The Guardian continued, "The Grey Scorpion kept you in the dark to prevent you from discovering your true power and heritage. But now, with your powers unlocked, you can reclaim your destiny and fight back against those who have wronged you and your family."Tears welled up in Maddison's eyes as she absorbed the guardian's words. She felt a mix of anger, sadness, and newfound resolve. "So, what do I do now?" she asked, her voice trembling but determined. The guardian, eyes full of void, continued, "You are meant to reach Cadearus Realm in silence. As you grow stronger, one day, you will defeat the Dark Mages and take control of the realm. Richard is destined to help you. Once you find him, everything will become clearer. He is safe and already in Cadearus Realm, so prepare yourself to leave."As soon as Maddison heard that Richard was okay, her face brightened with relief and determination, and said, "How do I get there? How do I find Richard?"The guardian's gaze softened. "Your powers will guide you. Trust in yourself and your abilities. The path will reveal itself when you are ready. For now, focus on honing your skills and preparing for the journey ahead."(862 Years AGW - Present in Cadearus' Realm)Richard woke up in shock when he heard Maddison's name. "Is she the same one I know? She looks so normal. How is she a mage, and how is she in Earth's realm?"Before the Green Spirit could answer, a fireball struck them hard. A voice echoed from the trees of the Silvershade Mirage forest, "I've been looking for you for ages, and finally, I found you."Richard stood up, groaning, to see who had attacked. He was the Grey Scorpion. "Running for weeks is not good for me, and all this to capture a rat running across the continent. Look at you, kid, you've even got some muscles," he sneered. The Green Spirit, speaking through Richard, said, "We don't want trouble right now, Grey Scorpion. We have no interest in fighting you or any other mage."But the Grey Scorpion was determined. He tried various ways to capture them, his stubbornness evident. Despite Richard and the Green Spirit's efforts to avoid the confrontation, they were forced to resist and fight back. The Green Spirit, remembering Liam's orders, avoided killing or severely injuring any mage, knowing that fighting upper-grade mages was not good for staying in the shadows. The fight between them was intense but ended quickly when the Green Spirit managed to make the Grey Scorpion lose consciousness. Using his magic, the Green Spirit tied the Grey Scorpion up in the forest, ensuring he couldn't follow them."We need to move quickly," the Green Spirit urged. "We can't risk another encounter."Richard nodded, his heart still pounding from the confrontation. Together, they set off towards Huydale's Castle, determined to reach it before morning and avoid another fight with the persistent Grey Scorpion. The urgency of their mission propelled them forward, knowing that every moment counted. As Richard reached Huydale's castle, he found that he was the last to arrive. Tasar and Varhir were already there, waiting for him. They welcomed him warmly and provided him with a bedroom to rest. After a few hours of much-needed sleep, Richard woke up to find Tasar and Varhir already in the room, watching him in silence. Richard, startled by their presence, exclaimed, "Wow, guys, you look horrifying! Don't you know that being in someone's room while they're sleeping is not good?"Tasar ignored Richard's comment and moved closer, his expression serious. "Okay, tell me what she said, and who is he?"Richard sat up, adopting a more formal posture. "She was such a scary woman, and she knows a lot of things. As soon as I reached her, she found out everything about me, including that I know you guys. But I managed to create a story to throw her off. As for Aiden Grimwald, she said he's a dangerous man who controls a lot of factions without drawing much attention. He was last seen in Zephyria, specifically in the Highland Plateaus. Her spies report that he has a bunker there and has made a deal with the Giants. In return for their protection, he provides them with goods and other unknown items. For the last four years, he's been seen there frequently, so she assumes his bunker is located in that area."Tasar and Varhir exchanged a worried glance. Tasar finally spoke, "Zephyria, and dealing with Giants... This is worse than we thought. We need to act quickly."Varhir nodded in agreement. "Indeed. We must prepare ourselves. This mission will be more dangerous than any we've faced before."Richard, still shaken but resolute, nodded. "Whatever it takes. We need to stop him."Tasar with a side look, " We? There is no we, I Will not drag you to this guys, and for you Richard I will contact Scrablade to help you with your matter against The mages, and for you Varhir you have to be here, in your castle, I will get some soldiers from Volsa's castle and I will get there as soon as I can."Varhir, with determination in his voice, declared, "I will help, even though you might not want to. If necessary, I'll act on my own."Richard stood up, his resolve clear. "I talked to The Green Spirit, and we want to help. We're not interested in fighting Tesior at the moment. Instead, we'll focus on stopping Aiden Grimwald from controlling Celestria. If he could make a deal with the Giants, he likely has agreements with other races as well."The three of them understood the gravity of their task. As they began to formulate their plan, the weight of the impending confrontation with Aiden Grimwald loomed over them, a silent reminder of the challenges that lay ahead.Tasar was more than ready to go but knew he needed permission from Ralnor Yinpetor, the king of the elves, to venture into Zephyria. He turned to Varhir and Richard and said, "Wait for me. I need to go to Dunewindia, to Volsa's castle, to meet the king. It may take up to five weeks, but I promise I will return, and we will sail together."Varhir, showing a hint of skepticism, suggested, "Maybe you will go without us."Tasar, resolute, replied, "I gave you my word. I will return, and we will face this challenge together."With that, Tasar departed, leaving Varhir and Richard to prepare for the journey ahead, their minds filled with the daunting task of confronting Aiden Grimwald.Tasar's journey took six days across the land and another two weeks at sea, navigating through the many boats of the elves that traveled in and out of the continent via Mount Corby Gorge. Finally, he reached Dunewindia. Weary from his travels yet determined to meet the king as soon as possible, Tasar made his way to Volsa's Castle, where he was observed with curiosity by the castle's inhabitants. They noted his arrival, recognizing that he had not returned with any signs of victory for their king. Despite his fatigue, Tasar's urgency to meet with the king was noticeable. As Tasar entered the grand hall of Volsa's Castle, he was met with a sea of solemn faces, all eyes fixed upon him. King Ralnor Yinpetor, seated upon his ornate throne, exuded an aura of restrained fury. The king had gathered every member of his court to hear Tasar's account of his five-month absence, a period shrouded in mystery and now under intense scrutiny."Hello, my King Ralnor Yinpetor, the fourth of his name, the ruler and protector of Cadearus," Tasar began with a respectful bow, trying to steady his nerves amidst the palpable tension in the room. "I have returned to present my full report. Regrettably, I was unable to dispatch any reports during my mission, as many of our soldiers did not survive the encounters."The king's expression darkened as Tasar spoke. Rising from his throne with a controlled yet ominous demeanor, King Ralnor addressed Tasar with thinly veiled displeasure. "You were tasked with apprehending a significant threat to our realm. Instead, you discovered a spirit host and withheld this information until it suited you. It has been reported that this spirit was none other than a mage and that both he and Varhir, against our protocols, accompanied you."Tasar listened attentively as the accusations mounted. The weight of the king's disappointment was palpable, bearing down on him heavily. "Furthermore," the king continued, his voice echoing through the hall, "after capturing Scarblade, you ventured towards the Eternal Desert kingdom as planned, yet neither you nor your companions returned. I have received no word from the Desert King in response to my inquiries. Explain to me, Tasar, what transpired before I am forced to take drastic measures."Tasar took a moment to collect his thoughts, knowing that his next words could sway the fate not only of himself but of his companions and the fragile peace of Cadearus itself. "Your Majesty," Tasar began earnestly, meeting the king's gaze with unwavering determination, "our mission led us into unforeseen challenges. Scarblade's capture was a strategic necessity, and our journey to the Eternal Desert was perilous. We uncovered information about Aiden Grimwald's alliances and his sinister designs on Celestria."He recounted the trials they faced, the battles fought, and the alliances forged amidst the sands of the Eternal Desert. "We endeavored to fulfill our duty to Cadearus, but circumstances beyond our control complicated our return," Tasar explained, his voice resonating sincerely. "I humbly ask for your understanding, Your Majesty, and I stand ready to accept whatever consequences you deem appropriate for my actions."The hall fell silent as Tasar awaited the king's response, the weight of his words echoing in the quietness. King Ralnor, his expression softened slightly by Tasar's explanation, considering the gravity of the situation. "Your dedication to Cadearus is commendable, Tasar," the king finally spoke, his tone less severe yet still resolute. "But you have tested the limits of my patience and trust. We will discuss this matter further in private. Go rest now and prepare yourself to provide a more detailed and truthful account of your actions."With a respectful nod, Tasar acknowledged the king's decision, knowing that the true test of his loyalty and honor lay ahead in the private chambers Face-to-face with the King.Tasar was granted five days to rest, even though he was eager to meet with King Ralnor Yinpetor. Each time he requested an audience, the king himself turned him away, insisting he take his full time of rest. On the sixth day, as Tasar was deeply engrossed in reading some ancient texts, the door to his chamber creaked open. The king entered, his presence commanding the room. Tasar immediately set his book aside, standing at attention. With a wave of his hand, the king dismissed the guards, instructing them to wait outside and close the door behind them. The room fell silent as the two exchanged a long, contemplative gaze. Then, to Tasar's surprise, the king's stern expression softened into a warm smile."Come here and hug me, you stupid Elf," the king said, opening his arms wide.Tasar broke into a relieved grin, crossing the room quickly to embrace his old friend. The hug was filled with unspoken forgiveness and camaraderie, dispelling the tension that had lingered between them."It's been a while, friend," King Ralnor continued, pulling back to look Tasar in the eyes. "I'm sorry for the harsh words I gave you that day. But you left me no choice but to speak that way in front of the entire castle. There were many whispers about you, my friend."Tasar nodded, understanding the king's position. "I know, Your Majesty. It's been a difficult journey.""Now," the king said, guiding Tasar to a nearby set of chairs, "I want to hear everything from you, with details this time. Do not skip anything."Tasar took a deep breath, settling into his chair. "Very well, Your Majesty. It all began when we set out to capture Scarblade..."As Tasar recounted his journey, the king listened intently, his expression shifting from concern to intrigue, and at times, to awe. Tasar spoke of battles fought, alliances made, and the discovery of Richard, the host of the Green Spirit. He detailed the story of The Green Spirit with the mages and how they made him look like the bad guy and the perilous trek to the Eternal Desert, culminating in the uneasy alliance they forged there.King Ralnor leaned forward, absorbing every word. "And what of that person whose name you said? Aiden Grimwald?" he asked, his voice filled with concern."We learned he's been operating from Zephyria, specifically in the Highland Plateaus," Tasar explained. "He's struck a deal with the giants, providing them with goods in exchange for protection. He's a shadowy figure, but his influence is growing."The king frowned, pondering the implications. "This is troubling news, indeed. We must act, but we must do so wisely. Your journey has provided us with valuable information, Tasar."Tasar nodded. "I'm ready to continue the fight, Your Majesty. Richard, Varhir, and I are prepared to face whatever comes next."King Ralnor placed a reassuring hand on Tasar's shoulder. "We will need all the strength and wisdom we can muster. But for now, rest. We have much to plan, and you will need your strength."With a grateful nod, Tasar stood, feeling the weight of his journey but also a renewed sense of purpose. The path ahead was fraught with danger, but with the king's support and the strength of his companions, he felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. On the tenth day, after several important meetings, King Ralnor Yinpetor gave Tasar an army of twenty thousand soldiers and a royal ship for their journey. The entire castle of Volsa buzzed with news about their mission and the mysterious Aiden Grimwald, who was linked to many problems in the realm.Despite their preparations, they were unsure about Grimwald's true nature—whether he was human, a mage, or something else. They had to make several backup plans just in case.Everyone knew that crossing into Zephyria would be dangerous. The royal giants and the King of Giants' forces would not interfere, but the rogue giants allied with Grimwald were a serious threat. These outlaws would be tough opponents. As the departure time approached, the atmosphere in Volsa's Castle was a mix of anticipation and fear. Soldiers and officers finalized their preparations. The royal ship, an impressive elven vessel, stood ready to sail. Before they left, King Ralnor addressed the troops. "Brave soldiers of Cadearus, today we face a great challenge. Aiden Grimwald is cunning and dangerous, but with courage and unity, we will succeed. Stand strong, for the future of our realm depends on us."Tasar felt the weight of the king's words and the responsibility on his shoulders. As the ship sailed, the shores of Cadearus disappeared, replaced by the open ocean. Ahead lay Zephyria, full of unknown dangers. The journey was not just about defeating Grimwald. It was a test of their strength and unity. With each day, the crew grew closer, bound by their shared mission. The ship moved swiftly and determinedly. As they neared Zephyria, Varhir and Richard joined the group. They were given all the details about the upcoming battle. Richard felt ready but was nervous about facing giants, creatures he had never seen before. The landscape turned wild and rugged. The air was thick with tension. They knew the rogue giants wouldn't welcome them kindly.Landing on Zephyria's shores marked the start of their true challenge. The royal army moved with readiness. The wilderness before them was filled with hidden dangers. Tasar, Varhir, and Richard led the way, their hearts set on the difficult path ahead.Victory wouldn't be easy, but with unity and courage, they moved forward, determined to stop Aiden Grimwald and bring peace to their realm. They set up camp on the southern shores near Titan's Reach, preparing for their journey west to the Highland Plateaus. Tasar arranged the camp with a strategic layout, positioning some tents higher for scouts to keep watch. The elves, who usually ruled their own realm, found themselves in unfamiliar territory. This was their first time in Zephyria, as no giant king had ever invited the elf king. The elves knew little about this continent or its dangers beyond the giants. Some speculated that the giants had already eliminated most of the monsters, particularly in the Highland Plateaus. After a few days on the southern shores near Titan's Reach, they began preparing to travel through the forest towards the west. They hoped the forest cover would help them avoid detection and provide some shelter from the windy weather on the continent. This decision, however, proved to be their first mistake. As they made their way toward the forest, they began to hear the howls of wolves, though these sounded deeper and more menacing than any they'd encountered before. Despite their wariness, they pressed on, staying on their toes and ready for any threat. As the last light of the day faded, they set up camp with extra guards and watchers.A few hours later, the howls returned, accompanied by the sound of heavy footsteps drawing closer. This time, it was clear the danger was imminent. Everyone woke up and prepared themselves for the impending attack. The forest was pitch black, and they struggled to see. The Green Spirit took control of Richard, knowing he wasn't ready to face the giants. With a wave of his hand, the Green Spirit lit up the surrounding trees with green torches, illuminating the area. They saw a massive pack of wolves charging towards them, each larger than any wolf they had encountered before. Behind the wolves, two giants stood, grinning ominously.Tasar, Varhir, Richard, the Green Spirit, and the entire Royal Army were paralyzed with fear. Acting swiftly, the Green Spirit conjured a vast magical dome, 12 kilometers in diameter, to protect the camp. This was a temporary measure, meant to buy them time to regain their courage, as he could only maintain it for hours, not days. They needed to eliminate the threat quickly to prevent the wolves and giants from calling for reinforcements.Inside the dome, whispers of fear and panic spread among the soldiers. Sensing the need to restore order, Tasar shouted above the din, "Warriors, I don't understand how royal soldiers like you can be so afraid. They should fear us, not the other way around!" His rousing words cut through the fear, and the soldiers began to steady themselves. The wolves, relentless in their assault, clawed and bit at the magical barrier. The Green Spirit stood firm, his back to the wolves, listening to Tasar's speech. Suddenly, one of the giants began to charge towards the dome. The soldiers, now more focused, prepared to face the impending clash, pushing their fear aside and readying themselves for The battle.Tasar swiftly organized his soldiers, positioning them for the impending battle. As the giant neared the magical dome, the Green Spirit understood its limitations against such a massive force. In a decisive move, he transformed the protective dome into a colossal fireball, hurtling it directly at the oncoming giant. The impact was thunderous, exploding into a chaotic clash between the giants and wolves on one side and Tasar, Varhir, the Green Spirit, and the Royal soldiers on the other. The forest echoed with the clash of steel, the roar of beasts, and the crackling of magic as both sides engaged in a desperate struggle for survival. The air filled with tension as spells and arrows flew, and swords clashed against giant fists and razor-sharp wolf fangs.Amidst the chaos, Tasar and Varhir fought fiercely alongside their soldiers, rallying them with strategic commands and courageous acts. The Green Spirit's magic surged, weaving protective barriers and launching powerful attacks against their monstrous adversaries. Despite the overwhelming odds, the Royal Army stood firm, their resolve bolstered by Tasar's leadership and the unity forged in battle. The skirmish raged on through the night, each side pushing themselves to their limits. For Tasar, Varhir, and the Green Spirit, every spell cast and every strike made was a testament to their determination to protect their comrades and vanquish their foes. In the heart of Zephyria's untamed wilderness, the fate of their mission hung in the balance as they battled against the formidable giants and their savage allies.Varhir delivered powerful attacks against the wolves, aided by the Green Spirit who helped him reach higher targets. Meanwhile, Tasar battled fiercely with one giant while the Green Spirit took on the other. The fight was intense and chaotic, with the forest echoing with the sounds of battle. As the giants continued their assault, the Green Spirit swiftly intervened to prevent the second giant from attacking Tasar, allowing him to focus on his opponent. The battlefield was a scene of desperate struggle, with casualties mounting on both sides. Despite the Royal Army's bravery, the wolves' ferocity and the giants' immense strength posed a formidable challenge.Seeing the soldiers suffer losses, the Green Spirit doubled his efforts. He created barriers and used magic to capture wolves, enabling the soldiers to defeat them quickly. At the same time, he alternated between defending the army and aiding Varhir, lifting him into positions where he could effectively strike at the wolves despite his small size.During the chaos, Varhir's swordsmanship and the Green Spirit's tactical magic provided crucial support to the beleaguered Royal Army. Each action aimed to turn the tide in their favor, as they fought against the relentless onslaught of giants and wolves. Deep in the forest, the outcome of this battle would determine not only their survival but also the success of their mission to confront Aiden Grimwald and protect Cadearus Realm from imminent danger. The battle lasted longer than anticipated, and when it finally ended, they found themselves with a hollow victory. Out of the original twenty thousand soldiers, only thirteen thousand survived. The remaining soldiers, visibly worn out and saddened, mourned the loss of seven thousand comrades. Despite the grim outcome, they were grateful to the Green Spirit, whose intervention had saved many lives. The Green Spirit was exhausted, Richard too drained to stand without support. Tasar and Varhir, though weary and wounded, showed resilience amidst their fatigue.Addressing the soldiers, the Green Spirit spoke earnestly. "I know I'm not one of you, but hear me out," he began, capturing the attention of every soldier present. "Today's battle was just a taste of what's ahead. It was tough, but we learned. Tasar and I struggled too, but we found a way to win. For each of you, this was a lesson. The next time, you'll be stronger, wiser."His words resonated with the soldiers, lifting their spirits. "I helped today, but not to replace your strength," the Green Spirit continued. "To guide you in this first encounter. I'll do it again if needed. In the battles to come, you'll know what to do. Be proud, because no one is stronger than what's right."The soldiers cheered, praising the Green Spirit, Tasar, Varhir, victory, and their king. With renewed resolve, they prepared for the challenges ahead in their mission to protect Cadearus Realm. After five days of recuperation in a secluded area near the battlefield, Tasar, Varhir, and the Green Spirit utilized this time to strategize their approach against the giants and wolves, having learned from their recent battle. They meticulously planned their attacks and defenses, preparing for what lay ahead. As dawn broke on the sixth day, they set out westward.Three days into their journey, they encountered more than eight giants. Tasar and the Green Spirit opted to confront them alone, leaving Varhir to command the army in readiness for future engagements. Finally, upon reaching the western territories, They were greeted by a scene that struck fear into all of them. The news Lily gave them seemed outdated or uncertain. Word had spread that Lily no longer had any spies in the continent of Zephyria because they had all been killed by the Shadowlord. When the royal army, along with Tasar, Varhir, and Richard, finally reached the west, they didn't find any trace of a bunker. Instead, they discovered a massive human castle in a vast area, heavily fortified and protected. There were over 30 giants, numerous packs of giant wolves, and some mages. They also spotted humans armed with swords and bows. This sight terrified the Green Spirit and everyone with him. Most of the royal army had thoughts of running away, convinced they would not survive and certain they would lose this battle. Tasar, Varhir, and the Green Spirit remained silent, looking at each other with empty eyes.Tasar gathered the Green Spirit and Varhir in a hastily set-up tent. As soon as they started their meeting, Tasar spoke first. "I think we have to get back and not attack now. I've seen my soldiers; they are more scared than we are. The three of us might hold our ground against that castle for a small time, but my soldiers cannot."Varhir, with a defeated tone, added, "We barely managed to stay alive in the first battle against a few wolves and two giants. What about now? I don't know who this man is, but to have a castle in Zephyria protected by giants, mages, humans, and wolves—that's new for me."The Green Spirit stayed silent but, after Varhir and Tasar finished, he said, "I think we shouldn't hold back. This will have a huge impact on the realm. Everyone knows the strongest army is the army of elves. If we run now, everyone will lose their trust in us. We need to fight. I might help in a way. I'll go and be back in a few hours. Try to ready the army and fill them with bravery for the battle."Without waiting for a response from Tasar or Varhir, the Green Spirit walked away from the camp. Everyone thought he was running away. Some soldiers started insulting him, believing Richard was only a mage and not capable of such a battle. Others began to think about running as well.Richard walked as far as he could in a vast, open space. Suddenly, without any warning, the Green Spirit froze him in place and began, "Liam, lord of the Phantom Sentinels, protector of the Realms, I want to make a deal under the pact of 'Spirits in the Pleasure.'"Moments later, Liam appeared and interrupted, "Stop, stop. No need for all the formalities again. Unfreeze Richard; he needs to hear this too."The Green Spirit unfroze Richard, who stood there confused as Liam continued, "I'm Liam, leader of the Phantom Sentinels. Let's get to the point. You need help for the battle, and I want the realm restored. Don't underestimate Aiden Grimwald; he's a legendary fighter from another realm, who came to this realm 40 years ago. I know about his coming, but I promised not to interfere directly after setting up the pacts, but I'll give you what you need. In return, I want your promises to fulfill a task for me."Richard nodded, and the Green Spirit agreed, "Yes, my lord, we promise. We need an army of 50,000 Mages spirits. I know I can't ask for giant fighters' spirits, but can we at least get a couple of them?"Liam smiled, "Fifty thousand spirits, fair enough. But no giants. Their king asked me not to interfere with anything concerning them. However, I can give you ten huge Grendel of Beowulf. They'll stay with you for this battle but won't remain under your leadership forever. In return, I want you and Richard to stay in this realm until it's stable, and after a few years, there will be a battle against the dark mages, for that to happen a person needs to rise, grow strong, and be ready for a full attack against them, for now this person is not ready yet, but She is already here in the realm. We need to wait for this person. Deal?" Richard replied, "She! Who?"Liam extended his hand, and the Green Spirit made Richard shake it. A brilliant light enveloped them, and in an instant, Liam was gone. In his place stood 50,000 Mages spirits and ten towering Grendel of Beowulf, bowing to Richard and waiting for orders.Tasar was trying to calm his men, who were telling him they couldn't fight. In all of elven history, no elf had ever wanted to retreat from a battle until now, faced with such overwhelming odds even before the real fight began.Suddenly, Varhir started yelling, "What are you doing, guys? If you don't attack, they will, and you and your family will—" His words got caught in his throat as he saw Richard approaching, followed by ten huge monsters and an army of Mages' spirits.Seeing Varhir's stunned expression, everyone turned to look. The sight before them was awe-inspiring. Richard was leading a vast number of soldiers and massive beasts. The once-defeated soldiers began to cheer, their spirits lifted, and they regained their resolve to fight. They started chanting Richard's name, ready to face the battle with renewed courage. In the war tent, Tasar laid out a strategic plan for the attack, a plan that both The Green Spirit and Varhir quickly approved without hesitation. Tasar explained, "Here's how we'll proceed: the ten Grendel of Beowulf will lead our forces, accompanied by myself, Varhir, and The Green Spirit. Behind us, 40,000 Mages spirits will form the second line. The remaining 13,000 elves will hold the third line. Additionally, the 10,000 elves that remain will initiate a pre-emptive strike, testing the enemy's defenses and revealing any traps."The Green Spirit added one crucial condition: he would stay back at the start of the battle, holding 5,000 Mages spirits with him. He would only join the fray at the opportune moment, acting as a reserve force to turn the tide if necessary. Tasar accepted this adjustment, and they finalized the plan with these modifications. With everything settled, they moved forward with the strategy, each knowing their role in the upcoming confrontation. The tension was palpable, but so was the determination. The battle ahead was daunting, but they were ready to face it together, with a well-thought-out plan and a renewed sense of hope. The army was lined up at the very first light as agreed on and everyone within the army was fully ready to fight such a fight and bear in mind the other said, didn't know about the attack, Tasar wanted to make the protocol of their battles and make them aware of their coming but Varhir and The Green Spirit didn't accept that to happen, and they wanted it to stay at a surprise to the enemy. The first 5,000 Mages' spirits attacked as The Green Spirit had planned, waiting for the enemy's response. As soon as the Mages' spirits were spotted, the dark mages from Aiden Grimwald's castle retaliated with a barrage of fireballs, making the Mages' spirits disappear. The sight of their vanguard being obliterated demoralized the elven army, casting doubt once more over their chances.Seeing the effect on the troops, The Green Spirit, without hesitation, charged towards the battlefield with the 5,000 mages' spirits following him. He signaled Tasar to hold back until he gave the order. The troops' attention and hope were rekindled as they watched The Green Spirit in action. He had anticipated such an outcome, which is why he had kept the mages' spirits with him.As The Green Spirit advanced, the castle's mages launched a variety of magical attacks, but he countered with a massive shield powered by his own strength and that of the mages. The shield was unbreakable, protecting him as he advanced. When he was surrounded by a pack of wolves, he launched a directed attack, obliterating the watchtowers where the enemy mages were stationed. He then created a dome, using the combined power of the mages, to imprison everyone inside the castle and protect the approaching army. With the signal given, Tasar's forces surged towards the castle. But just as they thought they had the upper hand, black smoke erupted from the castle, shattering the dome with a single blow. The Green Spirit looked up to see a man in black standing on the balcony, his hands shrouded in dark smoke, smiling confidently. It was clear to The Green Spirit that defeating this formidable opponent would not be an easy task. The Green Spirit backed off and created another shield to protect Tasar's army and the 5,000 mages' spirits with him. He ordered them to stand by and called out, "Clearly you are Aiden Grimwald. Why are you seeking to do such a thing in this realm?" As he spoke, The Green Spirit noticed that neither the wolves, giants, nor humans on Aiden Grimwald's side were attacking. They stood still, waiting.Suddenly, Aiden Grimwald used his power to approach The Green Spirit and said, "I don't know how you reached this place or why you are seeking to kill me, Eldor." The Green Spirit was shocked to hear his true name and couldn't comprehend how Aiden knew it. As Aiden Grimwald got closer to the shield, Tasar and Varhir moved nearer, having listened to the name as well. Aiden continued, "None of you is tough enough to face me except you, Eldor, but I've heard that you've grown weak since they captured you. If you tell me you're here to face me, then I will consider you a fool."Aiden Grimwald effortlessly passed through The Green Spirit's shield. As The Green Spirit prepared to attack, Aiden raised his hands and said, "Come on, I am not here to fight, because for sure you are no match for me. I want you to remember who I am." With that, Tasar attacked Aiden Grimwald, but he vanished before their eyes.As soon as Aiden disappeared, his army began attacking the mages at the front. Tasar and Varhir looked at The Green Spirit, their eyes full of questions.Tasar, his eyes wide with shock, said, "So, The Green Spirit, are you the Great Mage Eldor, or am I mistaken? As I know, Eldor received his capital punishment from Liam himself. Those who die by capital punishment have their spirits eaten by the Soul Eaters."Varhir stood speechless, waiting for a reply. The Green Spirit responded, "Yes, I am Eldor, but this is not the time to discuss it. We need to focus on the battle."Richard spoke up, addressing The Green Spirit internally, "Wait, I want to be a part of this battle. I haven't fought in any of the recent ones, and I want to feel like I'm helping. Don't tell me no, because I will fight no matter what."The Green Spirit wasn't sure if Richard was ready for such a battle but decided to let him join, remaining prepared to take control if necessary. The battle had already begun between the giants, wolves, mages, and humans on Aiden Grimwald's side against the remnants of the 5,000 mages' spirits. Tasar ordered the attack. The ten Grendel charged at the giants, who were twice their size. The mages' spirits engaged the wolves, with half of them protecting the elven fighters from magical assaults from the broken watchtowers. The royal army of elves attacked the human soldiers, led by Varhir.Tasar and Richard advanced directly toward the giants, fighting their way through to the castle. The battle was intense, with blood spilling everywhere. The Grendels had already succeeded in killing more than eight giants, though three of their own had perished. The mages' spirits, following the Green Spirit's plan, had the upper hand against the wolves. They managed to bind many of the wolves and swiftly eliminate them, though not all attempts were successful. The elven army, led by the dwarven prince, carved a bloody path through the human soldiers. The deal that the Green Spirit made with Liam proved invaluable, with the mages' spirits and Grendels making a significant impact despite their losses.Richard fought bravely, killing two giants with his special sword, the Great Comet Sword. It was only the second time he had summoned this powerful weapon, a feat even the Green Spirit could not achieve. Tasar, too, was formidable, having slain over five giants. The presence of the Grendels provided significant relief, allowing them to fight without being overwhelmed by the giants. The battlefield was a chaotic mix of combat and strategy, with the alliance of spirits, elves, and Grendels pushing back against Aiden Grimwald's forces. Despite the losses, the tide of battle seemed to favor Tasar and his allies, their resolve bolstered by Richard's bravery and the Green Spirit's strategic foresight. The battle was intense when three giants targeted Tasar. He managed to dodge their attacks and strike back, but suddenly, a mage on Aiden Grimwald's side hit Tasar, knocking him down. Richard was too far away to help, but Varhir, seeing Tasar in trouble, rushed to his aid. Despite his small size, Varhir was a great fighter. He drove the giants away from Tasar, attacking as best he could. However, he couldn't reach the vital spots on the giants' bodies. Tasar was in pain and couldn't stand, while some of the royal army defended him.Varhir came up with a plan. He jumped onto a giant's hand and climbed up, but as soon as he leaped onto another giant's body, it caught him. With a single move, the giant crushed Varhir's body and smashed him to the ground. Tasar watched in shock as his close friend died. Richard heard the sound and saw what happened. Filled with anger, Richard ran towards the giants. The Great Comet Sword grew larger, and with one powerful move, he cut off the giant's head, impressing even Tasar. The battle dragged on, but Tasar and his allies eventually won. The cost was high: over 20,000 mages' spirits died, leaving only 20,000 survivors. All the Grendels perished after killing 20 giants. More than 7,000 elves died. The greatest loss was Varhir's death, which left Tasar full of anger, grief, and pain. He stormed into the castle, searching for Aiden Grimwald. Finding a soldier, Tasar demanded, "Where is Aiden Grimwald? TELL ME." The soldier, in pain, replied, "I...I don't know. He doesn't share everything with us."For the first time, Tasar resorted to torture. He began cutting off the soldier's fingers one by one. Richard watched in shock as Tasar, driven by the death of his friend, continued torturing the soldier. Finally, the soldier broke, saying, "Wait, wait! Please, he...he probably went to the Ruins of Castle Ravenloft. He knew you were coming and sent builders there to rebuild. He must be there." With his last words, the soldier died. Tasar, hearing this, ordered everyone to head directly to the Ruins of Castle Ravenloft. His army, seeing this new, ruthless side of Tasar, prepared to follow him, driven by their leader's determination to confront Aiden Grimwald and avenge Varhir.Everyone knew the end was near. They stood firm, ready to fight the last battle. The army had dwindled to 6,000 elves and 20,000 mages' spirits, along with Tasar and Richard. Before heading to the Ruins of Castle Ravenloft, they delivered Varhir's body to Huydale's castle, presenting it to his father, King Varhir Anvilfall the Fifth. The king, unable to hold back his tears, mourned for his dead son. In his grief, he sent 10,000 dwarf fighters, armed with their newest weapons, to join the battle and cleanse the world of such evil.As Richard entered the room where he had once recuperated from the battle against the orcs, he saw someone he never expected to see in this realm. "Maddison? What are you doing here?" he exclaimed. Maddison, absorbed in trying to read some books written in an unfamiliar language, looked up and regained her focus. Upon seeing Richard, she ran to him and hugged him. "Finally, I found you, you stupid man! Look at you, you've become so strong. I'm impressed. I've been searching for you for ages and faced a lot of troubles to find you. And look at you, wearing armor made by the dwarves, just like me."Richard was in shock. He didn't know whether to be happy to see her or angry at her for being the reason he was there. He stammered, "It's been a while, Maddison. I've been trying to get back to Earth for months, but I've been thrown into battle after battle until I forgot my original goal—to return to you..." He blushed, and Maddison did as well. He quickly corrected himself, "I mean, to return to my realm and to my mother. But tell me, how did you come here? Tell me everything."Maddison smiled and began to speak, but Tasar's voice interrupted them. "Richard, we are about to leave. Make sure to be ready. We depart in a few minutes."Richard looked at Maddison apologetically and said, "I'm sorry, I have to leave now. We will talk after I come back, okay?"Maddison grabbed his hands and said, "Don't dream about it. After searching for you for so long, I won't let you leave. If you're going, I'm coming with you."Richard, with a focused look, replied, "No, it's too dangerous for you. You have to stay here."Maddison laughed. "Haha, if it's dangerous for me, then it's dangerous for you too. Besides, I found out that I'm a mage. Can you believe that? Don't tell anyone, but I told the dwarven king that I was sent by the elves. He was full of mistrust at first, but I manipulated his thoughts to let me stay here. I didn't like doing that, but I had no choice since I was wandering in this realm for a long time and sleeping in the forests."Richard was speechless upon hearing that she was a mage. Tasar's voice broke his trance with another call that they were leaving now. Richard sighed, "Okay, come with us, but you have to tell me everything on the way."Tasar saw Maddison and, with a single glance at Richard, beckoned him closer. Richard stepped forward and said, "I know her. She's a friend of mine. Don't worry, I fully trust her. She won't participate in the battle. She'll just come with us. It's been a long time since I last spoke to her." Tasar didn't say anything and nodded, riding to the front of the army on his horse. As soon as Tasar left, The Green Spirit spoke up, "Do you know what you are doing? Bringing her to this battle might be a wrong call. As you heard, she is a mage, and she will likely be a dark mage. That means she is our enemy."Richard, seeing Maddison approaching on her horse, ignored The Green Spirit and said to her, "Now you have to tell me everything. I won't accept you leaving anything hidden, okay?"Maddison nodded and said, "Okay, I will tell you my story, but I need you to listen carefully since I won't repeat it."They rode together, the army moving steadily toward The Ruins of Castle Ravenloft. Richard leaned in, attentive, as Maddison began her tale."It all started when I realized you had disappeared," Maddison began. "I was devastated and determined to find you. Your mother was also very sad and was trying to find you as well. I came across an old lady named Mia Caligari. After I asked her to help me, she gave me a forgotten spellbook—one that led me to this realm. The journey wasn't easy. I had to face countless dangers and hardships, but I was determined to find you."Richard felt a pang of sorrow when he heard that his mother had been fighting hard to find him. He asked, "And you didn't tell her anything when you were ready to come here?"Maddison smiled reassuringly. "No, don't worry. I convinced her that I found you in another state. I told her that you went there for a job opportunity and were going to call her, but your phone was dead. That's why you reached out to me to tell her that."Richard felt a bit relieved and waited for Maddison to continue. Maddison's eyes never left his as she continued, "So, I tried many times to open the gate but with no result. It felt like someone was trying to keep me away. Oh, something I didn't tell you—when my power was activated, the Guardian I told you about said that I am the last Pure Mage alive."Upon hearing this, The Green Spirit, who had initially been uninterested in the story, reacted through Richard's tongue, "What! It's impossible. All of the Pure Mages are dead. No matter what you say, even if it were true, how could that be? Liam, the protector of the realm, made sure that all the Pure Mages died."Maddison was confused by Richard's sudden outburst. "No... I... I am one of the Pure Mages. The Guardian told me that on the day the mages created the shield on the realm, causing many portals to open, my great-grandfathers were swallowed by one of the portals and thrown into Earth. They tried to return, but the Phantom—something, I forgot the name—blocked the portals and trapped everyone who was swallowed in the realm they were sent to. After a few years, dark mages came and hunted them for centuries. The Grey Scorpion killed my parents, wiped out my memory, and lied to me, telling me that I was an orphan and that he adopted me."The Green Spirit was shocked by what he heard. To be sure, Maddison raised her hands and showed her magic, which was pure and blue. Throughout history, only two mages had blue magic, and they were among the greatest mages. The Green Spirit was more than happy to learn that there were still Pure Mages to restore hope to the realm. He now understood what Liam had told him—that he needed to wait and not kill Tesior until this girl was ready to rule the realm."Okay, let me continue," Maddison said. "After many tries, I finally succeeded in opening the gate and found myself in this realm. I was in some kind of castle, but only the ruins of it—it looked like it had been destroyed for centuries. So, I started my journey. For days, I wondered if anyone lived in this realm. From place to place, I found another castle, also destroyed. I went in a different direction and found the dwarf's castle. There was a battle there, so I preferred not to interfere. I went around it and ended up in a forest. That was when I regretted every step I had taken. I fought a lot of monsters for months, wanting to escape, but it felt like I was in a maze. With a lot of courage and the help of my Guardian, I barely defeated every monster. Then he showed me the way out. Since then, I walked from forest to forest until I found myself at the dwarfs' castle, where you found me. I don't know how much time has passed since I arrived, but it feels like a long time struggling in this realm. I didn't tell you everything because it's not the right time, but I will when it is. Now it's your turn. Tell me how the young man who didn't know how to hold a sword is now going to battle!"Richard shared everything with her, from the day he was running away from bullies and found himself in the middle of the street, to how he got into this realm and discovered his power. He omitted the part where she was the reason for his journey. Maddison was shocked by what she heard and could only ask, "Oh, can the spirit hear us right now?"Richard nodded. "Yes, he can. He's been listening to our entire conversation. The Green Spirit, he's the one who's guided me through most of my journey here."Maddison looked at Richard with wide eyes. "That's incredible!!"As they continued their journey, Richard and Maddison exchanged stories, bonding over their shared experiences and newfound powers. The Green Spirit remained a silent observer, knowing that their combined strength would be crucial in the battles ahead to win over Tesior soon. After a day and a half, they finally reached the vantage point of Castle Ravenloft. From their position, they saw a vast army of mages, humans, and giants. Although giants weren't forbidden on this continent, their presence in such numbers was alarming. There were more than forty giants among the enemy forces. Fortunately, the dwarfs had anticipated this and brought heavy weapons to counter them.As the troops prepared for battle, Tasar stood before them to deliver his speech. His voice was firm and commanding, echoing through the ranks. "My true soldiers, faithful dwarfs, and great mages' spirits, the time has come. This will be our final stand for now, and through this battle, we can bring much-needed relief to this realm. This man and his army—at first, we thought they were merely outlaws stealing goods to rebuild a castle. But now, we know this is no ordinary endeavor. This man seeks to control our realm step by step. He has orchestrated events to go unnoticed by us, operating in the shadows and evading our detection. We've learned of his machinations through whispers and fragments from those who barely knew anything about him."He paused, letting his words sink in before continuing with renewed intensity. "We stand here as one united fist, ready to strike down his ambitions and restore freedom to our realm. He has even managed to control some of the dark mages, spreading his influence like a disease. But we are the cure. Today, we fight not just for ourselves but for every living being in this realm. Let us be as one—one heart, one mind, one purpose. We will bring balance back to our world. Together, we will be the dawn that drives away this shadow!"The soldiers, dwarfs, and mages were invigorated by Tasar's inspiring words. Their determination solidified, and they prepared for the imminent battle with renewed vigor. Richard, meanwhile, was trying to convince Maddison not to engage in the fight. Despite his efforts, she remained resolute and just as stubborn as he was."You can't stop me, Richard," Maddison said firmly. "I've fought hard to get here, and I won't stand aside now. We're in this together, whether you like it or not."Richard sighed, realizing he couldn't change her mind. "Alright, just stay close and be careful. This is going to be the toughest battle yet."Maddison nodded, her eyes full of determination. "I will. And we'll get through this together."With their resolve set and their spirits high, they marched forward, ready to face the enemy and stop the control of Aiden Grimwald of the realm. The battle began with a thunderous assault. The dwarves hurled massive, flaming boulders at the giants, their accuracy and strength knocking down several of the colossal foes. The mages, with their potent spells, focused their efforts on both the giants and the dark mages, creating a chaotic scene of fire and magic.Tasar, Richard, Maddison, and the elven army waited for the opportune moment to strike. The dwarves managed to kill more than five giants, their relentless barrage causing significant damage. However, the giants and the human army loyal to Aiden Grimwald eventually reach the front lines, initiating a brutal melee with the elves.Tasar charged at a giant, his sword flashing in the light of the burning battlefield. Richard, protective of Maddison, targeted the same giant she was aiming for, determined to keep her safe and prevent another tragic loss like Varhir's. The clash was fierce, the air thick with the sounds of clashing steel, roars of pain, and spells exploding. The fight dragged on, a grueling test of endurance and skill. Then, Aiden Grimwald appeared his presence a dark wave of power that shifted the battle's momentum. He decimated the dwarves' siege machines with ease and cut through the elf's and mages' ranks with terrifying efficiency.Seeing the destruction caused by Grimwald, Richard turned to Maddison, his voice urgent. "Don't follow me. This is my fight." She nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. As Richard advanced towards Grimwald, the Green Spirit's voice echoed in his mind. "Now it's my turn, Richard. I will not freeze you. Please, stop and let me take it from here. I can feel his power—it's immense."Richard hesitated for a moment, then agreed. "Okay, but don't let Maddison help you in this."The Green Spirit took control, and Richard felt a surge of energy course through him. His body moved with a new fluidity and purpose, guided by the ancient being within him. As he approached Aiden Grimwald, the battlefield seemed to fall away, and it was just the two of them, locked in a destiny-defining confrontation.Grimwald sneered as he saw Richard approach, unaware of the Green Spirit's presence. "You think you can defeat me, boy?"Richard's eyes glowed with an otherworldly light as the Green Spirit responded through him. "It's not just him you face. It's all of us, and we will not allow you to destroy this realm."The battle between Richard and Aiden Grimwald began, a clash of titanic forces that would determine the fate of the realm. As soon as the battle between Richard and Aiden Grimwald began, it was a spectacular clash of titanic powers. The Green Spirit, harnessing all his ancient strength, surged through Richard, determined to maintain control and bring an end to the dark sorcerer's reign. On the other side, Aiden Grimwald unleashed the majority of his formidable power, aiming to finish the battle swiftly and decisively.Their duel was ferocious, the sheer intensity of their attacks creating shockwaves that rippled across the battlefield. The ground trembled beneath their feet, and the air crackled with energy. The two armies, witnessing the might of these combatants, instinctively moved away, giving them a wide berth.Tasar, amid his own battle against a giant, caught sight of the epic confrontation. He had hoped to be the one to take down Aiden Grimwald, to personally avenge the wrongs done to their realm. However, as he observed the staggering power Grimwald wielded, Tasar's resolve shifted. He realized that only the Green Spirit, with his vast and ancient might, could stand a chance against such a formidable foe."Our only hope for this battle to end," Tasar muttered to himself, eyes fixed on the clash, "is through the power of the Green Spirit."The battlefield around them became a chaotic backdrop as soldiers from both sides engaged in their own skirmishes. The dwarves, utilizing their heavy weaponry, continued to target the giants, bringing down several more. The mages and elves fought valiantly against the human army and dark mages, their combined efforts stemming the tide of Grimwald's forces.Amidst this chaos, Maddison watched Richard with a mix of fear and admiration. She had come so far to find him, only to see him now embroiled in the most dangerous battle of his life. Her heart pounded as she silently prayed for his safety. The Green Spirit's power ebbed and flowed, a mesmerizing display of raw energy that clashed with Grimwald's dark magic. The two forces seemed evenly matched, each seeking an opening, a weakness to exploit. The outcome of this duel would determine the fate of the realm, and both combatants knew it.Tasar, still engaged in his own fierce battle, glanced over at Richard and the Green Spirit. He could see the determination in Richard's eyes, the unwavering resolve to protect their world. With a renewed sense of purpose, Tasar fought harder, rallying his soldiers to press on, knowing that they had to hold the line and support Richard in any way they could. As the battle raged on, the intensity only grew. The fate of the realm hung in the balance, and all eyes were on the duel between Richard, empowered by the Green Spirit, and the dark sorcerer Aiden Grimwald. The battle paused for a moment as both sides considered the devastation around them. Aiden Grimwald, panting heavily, looked at Richard with a twisted smile. "You don't look as powerful as you are. This is the first time I've had to use most of my power. So, I think now I have to use all of it. I'm sorry, but in another life, we could have been great partners in ruling this realm."Aiden Grimwald's power was an ominous, dark matter, pulsating with a life of its own. It shifted seamlessly between smoke, magic, and solid matter, a terrifying display of his control over the dark arts. Despite the strain, the Green Spirit, inhabiting Richard's form, hadn't yet unleashed his full potential. Richard's strict training over the past two months had prepared them for this moment, keeping them fit and focused for the battle. As Grimwald's power enveloped him, his entire body turned pitch black, his eyes glowing white with a mysterious intensity. His hands crackled with an overwhelming force as he launched a devastating attack at the Green Spirit. In response, the Green Spirit surrounded Richard's body with a radiant green aura, his eyes sparkling with emerald light. With a single, powerful move, he released a torrent of energy towards Grimwald. The clash of their powers ignited the battlefield, burning everything in the near vicinity. Fortunately, Tasar and Maddison were positioned far enough away to avoid the brunt of the blast, though they still felt its weakened shockwaves.Aiden Grimwald continued his relentless assault, his body visibly straining and cracking under the tremendous pressure. The Green Spirit, feeling the toll on Richard's body, began to worry that they might not hold out much longer. Just as he considered easing off to preserve Richard, Richard's voice, filled with unwavering determination, rang out."No, Greeny, this is it. We have to stop him," Richard insisted. "Yes, we didn't know he had such power, but we're in it now. We have to stop him. I need you to give everything you have."Hearing Richard's resolve, the Green Spirit gathered all his remaining strength, channeling an ancient and devastating force he had never before unleashed. "The Force of The Green Death," he whispered, the name alone sending shivers down Richard's spine. Summoning every ounce of his power, the Green Spirit released the mighty blow.Aiden Grimwald, sensing the impending doom, mustered all his dark magic to counter the attack. The clash of energies was monumental, the air itself seeming to shatter from the impact. But the Force of The Green Death proved unstoppable. It tore through Grimwald's defenses, engulfing him in a searing wave of emerald energy. Aiden Grimwald's form was obliterated, his dark presence extinguished in a brilliant flash of light. With Grimwald's death, Richard's body, pushed beyond its limits, crumpled to the ground. Maddison, witnessing the harrowing scene, sprinted towards him, tears streaming down her face. She knelt beside Richard, her hands trembling as she cradled his head. With a heavy voice, Richard managed to ask, "Did we make it?"Maddison, her voice choked with sobs, nodded fervently. "Yes... Yes... you made it," she cried. "And now you have to stay..."But before she could finish her plea, Richard's eyes fluttered closed. The exhaustion and strain of the battle had finally taken their toll. Maddison held him tightly, her tears mingling with the dust and blood of the battlefield, hoping against hope that Richard would wake again.Around them, the battlefield fell silent. The death of Aiden Grimwald sent a ripple through his forces, who, leaderless and demoralized, began to falter. Tasar, seeing the end of the dark sorcerer, rallied the remaining soldiers for a final push. The combined might of the elves, dwarves, and mages' spirits overcame the remnants of Grimwald's army, bringing the battle to a victorious close. As the dust settled, the battlefield was filled with the weary cheers of the victors. Tasar, bloodied and bruised, made his way to where Richard lay. He saw Maddison holding him, her face a mask of grief and relief. Kneeling beside them, Tasar placed a hand on Richard's shoulder, silently vowing to honor the sacrifice that had brought them this hard-won victory. The Green Spirit, now a faint presence within Richard, murmured softly, "Rest, young warrior. Your fight is over."As the sun began to set, casting a golden light over the devastated landscape, a new hope dawned for the realm—one forged through the courage, sacrifice, and tireless determination of those who had fought to defend it.Three months later, Maddison stood on the balcony of Volsa's castle, her face radiant with happiness. She looked out over the peaceful landscape, the scars of battle slowly healing, and turned to Tasar, who stood beside her. "So, are we going to conquer Dreadfall Abyss and take Tesior down?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with determination.Tasar chuckled, shaking his head. "Haha, come on, Maddison. There's still time for that. A long time of practice and preparation for you before that can happen. Or am I wrong, Richard?" He turned behind him as Richard approached, a smile on his face.Richard grinned, shaking his head. "Don't mind her; she's always full of energy like this."Maddison laughed, her joy infectious, and soon Tasar and Richard joined in. It was a moment of peace and camaraderie, a brief respite from the trials they had faced and the challenges yet to come.A new era had begun. Though Richard's original goal remained unfulfilled, he had helped achieve another—one that brought hope and light to the realm. Now, his mission was to aid Maddison in her journey to master her powers and prepare to take down the dark mages. With the strength of the pure mages, they would restore balance and ensure that the realm would no longer be a place for darkness. As the sun set over Volsa's castle, casting a warm, golden glow, the three friends stood together, ready to face whatever the future held. They knew that the road ahead would be long and arduous, but with their combined strength and determined resolve, they were prepared to bring about a new age of peace and prosperity. The End.
