ANATHI ZULU

He applied black powder on my forehead and got inside my room.I got out as the smoke was starting to suffocate me.My parents followed the man inside my room and came out after two minutes.My mom grabbed my hand and we went to the dinning room.We sat down on the floor.

The man was rambling words I couldn't hear while looking at me.He stopped and closed his eyes and took out a small pouch from his bag and spilled whatever that was inside.He shook his head when he read what the bones were telling him.

My mom and dad looked worried.

Dad: What do the bones say?

He shook his head again and picked up his things and left without saying a word.We were all confused as to what just happened.

Me:Will someone tell me who that man was?

Dad:Its nothing you have to worry yourself about , just focus on your speech for the annual event okay?

Me:Mom what's going on?

Mom:I better start on making breakfast

She kissed my dad on the cheek and went to the kitchen.My dad took his newspaper and sat in his chair.My parents won't say a word of what's going on which means that whatever it is , it's something big.

I went to my room and took a shower and wore black formal pants with a white shirt and brown formal shoes.I tied my hair in a bun.I sprayed my cologne and took my car keys and headed downstairs.They were already eating breakfast.

Mom:I hope you're not planning on skippjg breakfast , oh so help me God

Abongile: Where you going ? Never mind don't tell me I am coming anyway

He drank his juice and took two slices of toast.

Mom:Yey!!! Don't make me crazy , it's too early for me to be crazy ; sit down and eat both of you

Me:But mom-

She gave emt me the side eye.I sat down and we ate breakfast.for some reason I was anxious in meeting Lindani not knowing what he'll say is what makes me feels this way.

We finished breakfast and headed out and drove to the restaurant.We found him already seated at a table.

Lindani:It would rain cats and dogs for you not to bring your purse along

We sat down and ordered drinks.Abongile chuckled.

Abongile:We don't have all day , tell me where do you get the audacity to behave the way you did last night?

Lindani:I thought we were past that and I am not interested in talking to you

Me:I wanna know why , why now?

Lindani:I got tired of being second option that's all

Me:you were never second option , our parents loved us equally

Lindani:Keep telling yourself that Ms Perfect

He looked at his watch.

Lindani:Why did you call me here?

Me:I hate it when we don't get along , you're my little brother

Lindani:Get to the point

I placed the contract on the table.He took it and skimmed through it.

Lindani:You think I am going to accept this load of shit?

Me:meet me halfway at least

Lindani:It's either I am the CEO or nothing Anathi, there are other companies that would love to work with me

Me: You'll ditch family and work for strangers?

Lindani:I never felt like we were family in the first place

He got up and payed for his bill.

Lindani:Call me when you have something better on the table not this mediocre contract

Abongile hit the table so hard that the people next to us got scared.

Abongile:I told you he wouldn't accept it , he's just a small boy trying to me a man

Me:Family should be together always , if we're divided like this then it will be easier for the enemy to destroy us

Abongile:I hear you , I'll try to talk to him

Me: He'll come around when he wants to , let's go to a strip club

His jaw was in the floor.

Abongile:I am surprised you're the one that's suggesting we go to the club , you hate the club

Me: We're going to look not touch

Abongile:I'd rather go to church then

Me:Let's go marn , I'll ask Veronica to give you a lap dance

Abongile:Now you're talking

I payed for our drinks and we got out and went to the parking lot.

We were laughing and talking one minute and the next minute bullets were flying everywhere.Two bullets hit Abongile in his arm and one glazed me in my neck.We hid behind a random car and waited for the bullets to stop.I called my friend Thendo and she arrived with an Ak47.

She took us to the hospital and they attended to our wounds.
