CHAPTER TWO

The next day was a typical Saturday for Lade, chores

and late breakfast was the order of the day. This one was different though, she

woke up with the thought of the brown eyed obstacle she bumped into the

previous evening, she smiled and hurried through her list of chores, dishes,

laundry, and cleaning. Cooking was going to take longer as she had to restock

some stuff for the week, so she ate her last portion of cereal and decided on a

market run and also stopping by to see her bestie Rhea on her way, she hadn't

seen Rhea in two weeks so she decided to stop by at the store and get her

favourite snack 'coconut chips' as a peace offering, maybe get some things for

herself as well, talk about killing two birds with a stone.....

...….It's the typical Saturday for random guy as well,

music, FIFA, laying in bed and heading out, but this Saturday he decided to

change the routine and head out first, he had too much to drink last night and

he was freaking hungover and hungry so he decided to step out and fix that

before settling in, he grabbed his keys and headed out to his favourite store

playing his favourite Calum Scott's music on his stereo

He was trying to decide on the drinks to buy when his

nostrils caught the wisp of vanilla and lavender, he turned around but didn't

see anyone, he smiled, his mind must be playing tricks on him, must be the

alcohol, he grabbed three bottles of orange juice in his cart and went on with

his shopping, then he caught the smell again, this time stronger, he turned,

and there she was, the recent echoes of his thought, the brown skin stranger,

this must be a sign, as a big boy familiar with the game, he walked towards her

and said "hello stranger", she looked up and the beautiful set of brown eyes

she had dreamed about was staring down at her, she was startled and stepped

back a little, was she dreaming again? "You again? She asked. He spoke again "I

swear I'm not stalking you, I'm so

sorry, didn't mean to startle you, again", he said nervously.

Lade quickly regained her composure and said "is that

your specialty?, startling the whole citizen of Lagos? She continues with her

shopping. He smiled, and thought, sense of humour? Check! He quickly exonerated

himself and said "aqh, no oo, only the beautiful angry ones. He looked around

and picked the things he needed. Hahaha, Lade couldn't help but laugh , he

wasn't just good looking, he was also funny. Speaking of good looking, she

didn't realize how tall he was until now, even as a 5ft8in girl she still had

to raise her head to look at him and fully enjoy the view, he was tall with

perfectly chiseled face with a full shiny beard that looks like it gets all the

love from its owner, fit like he frequents the gym and oh his skin, the perfect

blend of chocolate, a beautiful smile to show off his perfect dentition, oh boy

man's hot!!!

He saw her mood was settled now, and her beautiful

face lit up with the most beautiful and subtle smile he had ever seen, it

warmed his heart, he spoke again bringing her out of her daydream. My name is

Marcus, friends call me Markie and I apologize again for last evening and now,

I'm not really in the business of scaring people, your beauty puts me in a

frenzy. He smiled

Lade snapped out of her savouring and smiled

stretching out her hand, I'm Lade, Omolade, apology accepted and if you don't

mind I'd like to go now, before they come and chase us, she laughed, he smiled,

took her hand firmly in his for a quick shake, he then proceeded to ask for her

number, she hesitated because Lagos boys can be crazy sometimes but she likes

the vibe she's getting from him , so she took his phone and punched in her

number as they make their way to the cashier, he offers to pay, she declined

which embarrassed him a little, but he didn't mind, she got her groceries and

made her way out smiling and Marcus couldn't help but smile as he watched her gracefully

walk out of the store.
