Two and half hours later, they were at the restaurant for an early dinner and laughing over the movie they just saw, then Marcus asked.
"So why a textile company?
Hmmm, well I have a business administration degree and I just knew that I wanted to be in a leadership position, so when I saw the opportunity, I took it, been at it for two years now, she replied
That's amazing, you're smart so I know bigger leadership roles are coming soon. Marcus replied.
So has tech always been your thing too? Lade asked
Yes oo, I always knew I wanted a flexible life and a large income, so when I finished my computer science degree, I decided to train for a more in-depth course so I chose software development.
Well, you're really smart, you chose the right path, so how about siblings? Any one? Asked Lade.
Oh yes I have two younger siblings, they are both in the UK. I'm an uncle too by the way, I have a cute niece.
Awww, that's so cute, hope you are a sweet uncle and brother oo
Ah, the best, replied Marcus, laughing, how about you, any siblings?
Yes, I have one little sister, she's a microbiology student in the university, and before you ask, I'm an amazing sister, said Lade laughing.
Marcus laughed at her and said, of course you are. Parents?
Oh, uhm, no, both parents are late, they died in a fire accident when I was younger so... Lade was cut short by Marcus' sympathy.
Oh my, my deepest condolences Omolade, that must have been pretty tough for you and your sister, Marcus said reaching for her hand and giving her a light squeeze.
Lade smiled, usually the memory always puts her in a low mood but today she felt much better, maybe it's the warmth she felt from the squeeze, it was so comforting, thank you Marcus, it was tough but we were surrounded by amazing family members who filled the vacuum and raised us, they are just the absolute best. Now don't let us sour the mood, how about you? Hopefully you're luckier than me in the parents sector.
Oh I'm glad you had an amazing support system, he smiled at her question. Well I still have my mom, that's lucky enough, she's in the UK with my sisters, lost daddy a couple of years back.
The conversation progressed as they got to know more about each other realizing they had a whole lot in common, they both like blue, they both prefer soft music, they both enjoy delicious cuisines, they both like to read, they both can't dance to save their lives, they both love movies but Marcus couldn't help but laugh at Lade's love for cartoons, though Lade prefers quieter events but Marcus prefers louder events.
The more they got to know each other, the more interested they became in each other, and Marcus just kept smiling to himself as she ticked all of his boxes in his head though, he was surprised about her not really been interested in going out and partying, her idea of a good time was anything that had to do with quiet and introverted activities, but he didn't mind, he still wanted her.
Lade on the other hand, was a bit frightened of his personality, cus he was very extroverted and adventurous but she just couldn't help but like him, he was different from all of her other dates and it made her even more interested to give something different a chance.
They ordered some food and as they ate, they both couldn't help but enjoy each other's company and wished the day didn't end.
