Chapter 10 : She knows

"I know that Sir Lucas would have given the theory for today's practice. Today we will be practicing energy flow. I would like a volunteer so that I can show the class a proper representation of 'appropriate flow'. Anyone up for it?"

Everyone in the school was my age or older, with the average being 21 years of age. Everyone has been trained to some extent, with some even hailing from exotic families, others from wealthy merchant homes. There was no problem with elixirs, or private tutors. They had some form of pride, whether from family ties, achievements or a great or widely-known predecessor. Therefore, none wanted to seen weak, or overly compliant.

Someone sighed, put his hand in his pockets, and made his way out of the field. Miss Anne was visibly annoyed. She took of her coverall, making a display of the toned and properly trained muscles beneath. She let down her hair, undoing her bun.

"Focus, Idiot!" I heard Venus say. She would occasionally pop in like that, randomly.

"You jealous she's more toned than you?" I thought back to her. "Why did I even say that?" I thought to myself.

"Spending more time watching women, than you do focusing is something we would need to talk about. I'm serious. Insolent brat" she said, angrily. My big mouth, just why?

"Cadet number 92, why are you leaving without my allowance? Where are you going?" Madam Anne asked.

"I've got nothing to learn here, Madam. I thought it would be better if I'd leave, to not disturb the class" he replied.

"Come here. If you can beat me, I'll allow you to take your time off for the rest of the semester" she shot back confidently.

Cadet 98 was a very tall person, who had continuously shown off his martial arts, claiming that it was superior to all others. Apparently he was from the Geiga clan, known for having people as big and strong as giants. His name was Vonn.

"I will, but I request for a personal talk afterwards." He said as he got into position for battle.

As a flash of lightning, they went at it. First Vonn had the upper hand, using his size to his advantage. Striking with great precision and range, forcing Madam Anne to go on the defensive. Then Madam Anne had the upper hand, utilizing her small stature. She went around Vonn, making him turn around uselessly, as she punished him. Then in one fell swoop, she hit him in the liver, dropping him to the ground. The fight lasted 7 minutes.

"Get up, Vonn. You were not so bad, so I will not punish you further"

"I am sorry, for overestimating my knowledge. I am full of remorse. I will assure you that I will behave from now on" he replied as he bowed.

She smiled, and turned to teach the class. 

"Today, we will learn to manage the flow of energy"

None scoffed at her again. none of them could've beat Vonn, and that simply.

"Everyone in the lotus position. Breathe and channel all the energy around you, inside"

"Kid, I'll have to speak to you after this. Well continue your training. And since you've reached this far. I'll fulfill my promise" Venus butted in again.

"Cadet 101"

I heard that right behind my back. I shuddered, and could not even turn around, when she pulled my ear. It hurt.

"Everyone is already practicing and you're here taking your sweet time" she said as she applied more force. I thought she would rip it off my head.

Then she pulled my shoulder, and went on her toes, to reach my head properly.

"See me after class. Go to the secretary, she'll show you my office"

Before I could respond, she had let go of my ear and got back to class.

After class, I met up with the others to discuss our experiences, we were only bale to meet as gender allowed us, so we could not talk to the girls after class hours. We talked on and on, just sharing our different views of the academy.

"Bro why did you make such a scene at the entrance exam?" Kainan asked.

I explained to him the whole meaning of what I did, from implanting me into the memories of instructors and cadets alike, all the way to increasing the chances of more people passing the test.

"That's pretty neat. Good to see you using your noggin" he said.

"Guys I'll have to go first, a teacher wishes to see me, and I'm already late. Good seeing you all again though"

"You already in trouble?" Jaden said as he laughed hard. I knew he was joking around so I shook my head an went on to the secretary's office. 

"Down the hallway, left, left , right and then down the staircase" was what she told me. The size of this 'academy' never disappointed in amazing me.

I got to her office and I knew it was hers, because it had her name engraved on the door.

I stretched out my hand to knock.

"Come on in" I heard from the inside. I was shocked, no, stunned. I opened the door and to my amazement, saw no inside.

"Give me a second" I heard again.

I looked to my right and I saw her in a towel, probably right out of the bath. "whos got a bathtub in an office?" I wondered.

"So, Muna is it?"

"A-Aye" I replied.

"Drop the formalities. When we're alone, call me Anne"

Dazed I was.

"Spill it" she said

"I'm not sure what you mea-"

"You dont have an energy core. You should not be able to practice above a novice rank and yet, You withstood my ear pull, which contained 2nd class energy. How?"
