The Child Exile was never meant to be more than a footnote in history—a cruel, bitter noble stripped of his name, condemned for his crimes, and discarded before he could become anything more. His pitiful return years later in The Fool’s Ascent was nothing but an obstacle for the true heroes before he met his inevitable end.

But history is rewritten when a reader of The Fool’s Ascent dies and awakens in the body of the infamous Child Exile. No longer the same violent boy, he refuses to be just another villain in someone else’s story. If the world is doomed to fall, he will rise to stop it. Yet his past sins are not so easily erased, and redemption will cost him everything—perhaps even his very soul.

To change the story, he must become strong; as strong as the heroes, defy fate, and carve a new power from the ashes of his disgrace.

The world remembers the Child Exile as a villain. He will make them remember him as something more.

Very tiny disclaimer before we really start chat.

While yes, this is one of those novels where the mc transmigrates into a novel world and is trying to stop its demise, but that is only part of it.

Beyond that, this book is meant to be my take on fantasy. I will not half-ass the arcs, exploration, or world-building, and Ravenn will not be stalking Riven across every arc.

This world I've made is vast, too vast for Ravenn to only go to the academy, dungeons, and run around cleaning up messes for Riven (pretty sure Reina will come in handy there).

Every character, aside from actual extras meant to deepen your immersion and boost my character count *ahem*, will have their own unique characteristics.

Extras will be at least slightly thought out is what I mean.

There won't be any damsels in distress every five minutes for Ravenn to save, that got old a few hundred novels ago.

All in all, if you're here for an mc that will get op in the first 2 chapters while pulling every girl in a 10-mile radius, you're in the wrong place.

Finally, the matter of locked chapters. I will hit 50k words in about a month or so, and until then I will watch the comments and your suggestions. When I decide to lock chapters it will be largely up to your interactions. I won't leave you on too big of a cliffhanger when I do though (probably).

Not seriously, but this contest prize pool is looking very nice, and I'm at a time in my life where I need to start thinking of ways to earn money. I think I'm decent at writing, so why not make money this way? I'm already writing an actual book, this on the side doesn't seem too bad.
