Chapter 420: Reversal Mountain

Gardevoir was furious, because this was the first time its Teleport had ever been forcibly interrupted.

To it, Teleport was the most important move for protecting both itself and Sato.

If the mansion had really collapsed and Teleport couldn't be used, then clearly, the vanished Zillion had intended to bury them alive from the very start!

"Man~" "Man~" "Man~"

Suddenly, sharp cries echoed from all around. Without hesitation, Gardevoir launched multiple Thunderbolt, precisely striking each location where the sounds originated.

Heavy thuds followed. Sato and the others turned toward the loudest one and saw a Mandibuzz crash to the ground, its condition unknown.

"Using Dark-type Mandibuzz to block the space and nullify Teleport, is that it?" Joseph speculated, but there was no time to verify.

"Let's get out of here first." The Telepathy entered everyone's minds, and in the next moment, they vanished from where they stood and reappeared in the open area in front of the mansion.

RUMBLE...

As Gardevoir released its psychic control, Sato and the others saw that only the area near the hall had collapsed, while the rest of the place was relatively intact.

Many maids still working in the garden looked on in shock at the sudden appearance of Sato's group.

"Could Trish still be inside? That collapse covered a pretty big area!" Mark said in a panic. Even though his father Zillion had tried to kill them, Mark instinctively felt that this couldn't be Trish's doing.

'A child that young… what could she possibly understand?'

"There were only a few dead Dark-type Pokémon in the rubble, no humans." Gardevoir glanced at Mark and "kindly" offered an explanation.

"Zillion hasn't lost his mind to the point of disregarding his own daughter. The real question now is: where did he go, and what secret does the Relic Vase hold?" Joseph turned to Sato, clearly seeking his opinion.

"If he's willing to take such a huge risk to get the Vase, Zillion obviously wants something from it. And I won't let him get his way… Gardevoir, can you track Beheeyem's aura?"

"The energy fluctuations around us are too intense, and I didn't specifically mark that Pokémon's aura..." Gardevoir shook its head.

"It's not your fault. The hall must've triggered a self-destruct program to collapse like that. Finding any clues won't be easy. Joseph, you and Mark go find the butler. I'll go find Trish. Once we locate them, restrain them immediately, those two are the only ones who might know something."

"Got it!" Joseph nodded and began giving commands to Gallade beside him.

"Sato, you..."

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. Gardevoir." Sato nodded to Mark. He understood what Mark wanted to say, Trish was just a child and might really know nothing.

The next second, Sato and Gardevoir vanished from sight.

"Let's move too. You're better at finding things, so you lead the way." Joseph patted Mark on the shoulder. Gallade's psychic power couldn't compare to Gardevoir's, its search range was quite limited, and this mansion was massive.

---

Elsewhere, Sato and Gardevoir Teleported directly into Trish's room, where the girl was quietly sitting by the bed, as if waiting for something.

"Why is it you?" Trish looked flustered, clearly expecting someone else.

Sato frowned. Though Trish was a key figure, his original plan had been to place her under house arrest to hold Zillion back.

But right now, Trish's behavior didn't look like someone who knew nothing at all.

"You know what happened?"

"I don't know anything!" Trish quickly denied it, but her reaction only made her look more flustered.

After all… she was still just a little girl…

"…Gardevoir, Hypnosis."

"Beeheyem!"

A Beheeyem suddenly appeared beside Trish, and a green Protect barrier blocked Gardevoir's Hypnosis.

The next second, Beheeyem instantly used Teleport to take Trish away.

"A second Pseudo-Elite Four Beheeyem? Just how long has Zillion been playing dumb while hiding this power?"

Sato muttered to himself. The Beheeyem that took Zillion earlier had also been at Pseudo-Elite Four level, which was why Gengar couldn't intercept it.

Zillion had always used Elite-level Pokémon on the surface, but with his financial power, while Elite Four Pokémon were hard to obtain, gathering several Pseudo-Elite Four ones was still relatively easy.

"Gardevoir, did you track the psychic signature of that one?"

"I can sense it anytime." Gardevoir nodded with a smile.

Clearly, Trish had been let go on purpose by Sato. Since she knew something, it was almost certain she would try to find her father.

"Let's regroup with the others and ask the butler if he knows anything."

"Voir~"

Gardevoir, for once, didn't use Telepathy to reply. Sato noticed that its real voice sounded gentler, less aloof than usual.

There was no denying it: Teleport was incredibly useful. Gardevoir was very familiar with the psychic signatures of Joseph and the others, so it quickly located them.

"The butler's no pushover. He opened with a Pseudo-Elite Four Mandibuzz, but he didn't want to fight us. Just gave us a couple of warnings and left." Joseph looked rather serious, this opponent was far stronger than expected.

"That old guy was so smug, told us to leave quickly and not interfere with his boss's business. Hey, the Vase is ours!" Mark was hopping mad but could only watch the butler walk away. They had no chance of winning.

"What about Trish?" Joseph asked.

"Let her go. She probably knows something, and it's almost certain she'll go looking for Zillion. We just have to follow."

"Boss, you're amazing. Let's move!" Mark exaggeratedly gave a thumbs-up and started dragging the other two along.

"We don't even have any flying Pokémon to ride. Sharpedo can't carry all three of us." Sato stood still, unmoved by Mark's pulling.

"My Togetic is still young… it… it won't work either." Mark looked troubled, his brow furrowed deeply.

"Joseph, make sure Mark eats more brain food from now on. Gardevoir, all yours." Sato grinned teasingly.

Before Mark could argue, in a flash, the three of them vanished from sight.

The trio suddenly arrived in the wilderness, where the ground was a deep red, and the sparse vegetation gave the place a desolate feel.

"…This looks like the mountainside?" Joseph looked around and said uncertainly.

"We should be on Reversal Mountain, the big mountain to the left of Undella Town." Sato pointed to the white buildings at the foot of the mountain, it was clearly Undella Town.

"Reversal Mountain? Is it related to the Reverse World?" Joseph still remembered Zillion mentioning the Reverse World before leaving and asked curiously.

"If it is, we'll find out by catching up. Gardevoir!"

"Voir~"
