------------
In the following days, the lives of the four students in Noah's dormitory became even busier.
Every day, after finishing their required classes, they would sneak into the Room of Requirement to study even more in-depth. Because of this, they rarely spent any time in the Ravenclaw common room.
This made many of their fellow Ravenclaws worried about them. After all, a Ravenclaw who doesn't love learning isn't a proper Ravenclaw!
As ridiculous as that might sound, it was the truth.
Because of this, some students even visited Noah's dormitory before bed to ask about their situation. Since they were never around at other times and would only return before curfew, this was the only time they could be found.
Unfortunately, Noah and the others didn't tell them the real reason, only reassuring them that they weren't neglecting their studies over trivial matters.
As if they'd reveal such an important secret so easily!
Their hard work paid off. They had completely surpassed all the other first-year students by varying degrees!
They had even begun considering studying second-year coursework ahead of schedule.
Of course, they also discussed other things in their spare time—such as what to name the small organization they had created and what kind of people they should bring in later on.
"A name?"
Noah was momentarily stunned by the question before countless names of once-powerful organizations flashed through his mind.
"There are so many options. The Brotherhood? Dawnguard? Blackstone? The Knights of the Round Table? The Silver Hand? Tirisfal? The Mithril Alliance? The Illuminati? Aurora? Or..."
"Stop! Stop!"
Evan and the others were completely overwhelmed. They had spent so much time struggling to come up with a name, yet Noah seemed to have an endless supply of them!
Did he just have these names on standby at all times?
To be fair, not all of them were great. Tirisfal? What even was that? And while mithril was a precious material, they weren't exactly running a mining business!
After much discussion—and after Noah strongly vetoed "The Ravenclaw Brotherhood"—they unanimously decided on a simple name: The League of Mages.
It might not be the flashiest name, but it got straight to the point. As for the leader of the group, that responsibility naturally fell to Noah, since he had discovered the Room of Requirement in the first place.
"What a shame to waste so many good names," Noah sighed.
"Come on, even if the names sound cool, how do they fit our current situation? Like 'Dawnguard'? Sure, there are vampires, but we're just a bunch of first-years—we wouldn't stand a chance against them! And besides, it's not like we even have anything to do with vampires!"
Noah could only accept their reasoning. As for the number of people they planned to recruit, they had already come to a tentative decision. At Noah's suggestion, Evan and the others began observing the students in Michael Corner's dormitory.
For now, it was just an evaluation—they wouldn't make any real decisions yet.
They all agreed to wait until the second half of the school year before making any moves. After all, Christmas was approaching, and before that, there was Halloween.
With their study schedules already packed, where would they find the time for recruitment discussions?
"Ugh, Halloween is such a pain. I wish we could just skip it," Evan complained as they walked to the Potions classroom.
"Halloween is fine. I just don't like Potions class. This classroom is really uncomfortable," Lance muttered, glancing around nervously to make sure no Slytherins were nearby.
Potions classes were held in the dungeons of Hogwarts. Interestingly, the Slytherin common room and dormitories were also located down here.
Hidden behind a stone wall in the dungeons, Slytherin's common room was commonly known as the Slytherin Dungeon.
Noah had heard from another student who had visited Slytherin that their common room was under the Black Lake. Through the windows, they could actually see the lake outside.
With its rough stone ceilings, eerie green lighting, and skull decorations, the whole place had a cold and eerie atmosphere.
Apparently, that student had taken one look at the room and immediately ran away in horror, swearing never to set foot in that "haunted" place again.
But for Slytherins, it was a matter of pride.
In Noah's opinion, they were a bunch of overdramatic kids who loved to act like they were "so cool" for living in such a spooky place. Seriously, what's so great about that dungeon?
"Honestly, it's not that bad. I mean, would you rather spend seven years living in Slytherin instead?" Noah teased.
"No way! Thank Merlin I wasn't sorted into Slytherin! I would've had to deal with snakes every day, and I absolutely hate snakes!" Lance said, visibly shuddering.
Kenn and Evan looked just as relieved.
When they were sorted, the Sorting Hat had briefly considered placing them in Slytherin, but they had all refused, which was why they ended up in Ravenclaw.
"Alright, let's stop talking about unpleasant things. How many times do you think Professor Snape will humiliate Mr. Potter today?" Kenn grinned mischievously, successfully changing the subject.
Since they shared Potions classes with Gryffindor, they had all witnessed the many ways in which Professor Snape tormented Harry Potter.
It was almost a tradition at this point—every lesson, Harry would get singled out and publicly humiliated.
While they weren't particularly interested in Harry himself, they couldn't help but be fascinated by Hermione Granger.
That girl was ridiculously smart! If they hadn't already studied ahead thanks to the Room of Requirement, they probably wouldn't have been able to keep up with her.
"I don't know… but I bet he's going to struggle with answering at least one of Snape's questions," Lance chuckled.
"Not necessarily. If I were Potter, I'd study extra hard just to avoid getting embarrassed in front of the whole class," Evan said, though he didn't sound convinced.
"Alright, enough gossip," Noah interrupted, noticing that some Gryffindor students were glaring at them.
"All we need to know is that Mr. Potter is going to be unlucky again. And really—what does that have to do with us?"
