Chapter 70: Sure Enough, It Was Just a Small Shrimp

"You did a great job, kid. Really great. You completely exceeded my expectations."

As time came to a complete halt, a voice echoed faintly in the space. It was gentle and soothing, like a warm breeze in spring.

Then, the space above Noah was abruptly torn apart, and a figure slowly stepped out.

The moment Noah saw this person, he felt a sense of relief. The individual was wearing a monk-like robe and had an angelic face almost identical to Gabriel's!

The only noticeable difference was that Gabriel had hair, while this person did not.

Although Noah was curious about why they looked so alike, he didn't bother thinking too much about it. He already knew who this person was!

This was undoubtedly the Ancient One, one of the most terrifying beings in the world the legendary Sorcerer Supreme!

Just as Noah was about to use Apparition to escape, a low hum resonated in his mind. The voice carried a strange sense of reassurance, telling him he didn't need to worry anymore. Everything from here on would be taken care of.

For some reason, Noah trusted this voice deeply. To be honest, even though the Ministry of Magic had already informed him of the Ancient One's arrival and his system had also confirmed it, he had still been cautious, unwilling to take risks.

Yet, this voice made him feel inexplicably safe, which puzzled him.

But it didn't matter. Everything was progressing as it should, and Noah saw no reason to dwell on unnecessary thoughts.

At this moment, he couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness. Being praised by someone of the Ancient One's stature how could he not be pleased?

However, despite knowing who she was, Noah was well aware that he wasn't supposed to know about the existence of the Ancient One.

Even if Hogwarts' library contained records of obscure magical figures, it was highly unlikely to have books detailing the Ancient One. And even if there were such books, none of them would have a portrait resembling the person before him.

So, he could only feign ignorance. With a cautious expression, he asked, "Who are you? Are you from the Ministry of Magic?"

Noah couldn't afford to ask something as foolish as, "Are you with these angels and demons?" That would be outright stupid. Seeing that both Gabriel and Constantine were frozen in place while he was the only one unaffected, it was obvious that this was intentional.

To be the only one capable of speech in this situation was clearly a privilege. If he still went ahead and asked something foolish, he would truly be an idiot.

Noah wasn't actually stupid he was just pretending to be.

"The Ministry of Magic? No, sorry, I'm not." The Ancient One smiled but did not directly answer his question.

"Then you are ?"

"Alright, kid. Let's not dwell on that for now. You'll understand soon enough," the Ancient One interrupted, cutting him off. She then turned and began walking toward Gabriel.

Without chanting any incantation, she merely waved her hand lightly. Instantly, the Spear of Longinus flew out of Gabriel's grasp and landed at Noah's feet.

Noah blinked in surprise, then slowly crouched down and picked up the legendary God-Slaying Spear.

He then focused his attention on the Ancient One. After all, the magic she used was on an entirely different level than his own.

Even the simplest spell she cast contained unfathomable principles of magic!

However, Noah was soon pulled out of his observations as the system's voice rang in his mind once more.

"Mission Report: Completed."

"Mission Reward Processing: Unknown."

"Discovered Mission Item: Spear of Longinus."

"Status Update: Extracting Unknown Power from the Spear of Longinus. Please wait."

Extracting unknown power from the Spear of Longinus?

What the hell?

Noah was bewildered. Was there something more to this ancient weapon?

He couldn't make sense of it, but he didn't bother thinking too much. His eyes suddenly widened in shock

Because he saw the Ancient One place her hand directly on Angela's abdomen. A soft golden light flickered, and in the next moment

She pulled Mammon's soul out of her body.

What kind of sorcery was this?

Noah was utterly dumbfounded. He knew that the Ancient One once slapped the Hulk's soul out of his body with a single strike, but this was the first time he had actually witnessed such an act in real time.

This was on a completely different level!

Noah couldn't help but feel that the Ancient One wasn't even human.

Perhaps that was why she remained so calm, even when she knew she was going to die.

In fact, Noah suspected that she deliberately allowed her death to awaken a new Sorcerer Supreme and more importantly, to rid herself of Dormammu's influence.

At her level, there was no way her soul could simply be erased from existence.

Shaking his head, Noah forced himself to stop thinking too much. He was just a small fry a mere passerby in this grand scheme of things.

The Ancient One gazed at Mammon's soul with a solemn expression.

"Tell me," she said, her voice carrying an undeniable weight. "Do you understand the consequences of your actions?"

The moment her words fell, time resumed its flow.

Everything snapped back to reality.

Gabriel, who had been frozen in place, suddenly jerked awake. However, her movements came to an abrupt halt an invisible force had blasted her backward, slamming her against the wall!

"You !"

Gabriel's face was filled with shock and disbelief, but the moment she saw the figure before her, all that remained was pure, unfiltered terror.

She knew exactly who this person was.

She had witnessed with her own eyes how this individual rose step by step, ultimately becoming the Guardian of Earth.

"Sorcerer Supreme... the Ancient One!"

"Yes, it's me." The Ancient One's voice was calm, yet absolute. "Return to your world. Tell your master what you attempted here and what is about to come. Now, begone."

Without giving Gabriel a chance to speak further, she waved her hand lightly.

A golden rune filled halo shot toward Gabriel, completely engulfing her.

She didn't even have time to scream within moments, she disintegrated into nothingness.

Noah swallowed hard at the sight.

Even though Gabriel wasn't as strong as him, she wasn't exactly easy to deal with either. And yet, the Ancient One had eradicated her as effortlessly as swatting a fly.

Noah felt incredibly small in comparison.

Still, his mindset remained stable. Though shocked, he reminded himself

He was still young.

These two beings before him had lived for who knows how many years!

"I'm only twelve years old. As long as I keep working hard, I'll reach their level in a few hundred years! ...Uh, assuming I even have that much time?"

Noah scratched his nose awkwardly, deep in thought.

The Ancient One, having dealt with Gabriel, now turned her attention to the soul in her grasp.

"Now," she said calmly, "let's have a proper conversation. Oh, and... your father should join us as well."
