Chapter 4

Early in the morning, Aaron woke up and prepared himself. He is going to enter the dungeon today. If he needed to improve himself, he needed to push himself to the boundary. This can only be achieved if he kept challenging the dungeon again and again.

Though he wanted to do that, he isn't a moron to fight continuously. His body needs rest as much as practice, so for one to properly become stronger. If not, his body could die of exhaustion. He is not an immortal.

So he decided to challenge the dungeon early in the morning but return home by night. He made a schedule of it, what dungeons to challenge, and when to.

Everyone believes that one with high talent and hard work would reach the top, but this is not true. Many talents fall early, either because of their own stupidity or someone is jealous of their talents.

In the novels, the main character survives all kinds of attacks from his enemies but at what cost? Most of the time, his friends and family sacrifice themselves to protect him. They say it because of plot armor or Son of Heaven or something ridiculous.

A top-grade hunter dies at the hands of MC, because of these ridiculous things. Years of hard work go down the drain just because of MC's plot armor.

If that is the case, there is no point in working. The stories even work in favor of MC, and turn in whatever direction he wants.

This is especially true in stories where a boy sincerely loves a girl and wanted to marry her, but the girl hates men for some stupid reason. She even starts to hate this boy, even after whatever help he does to her and her family.

At this moment the MC enters the story and Abracadabra...she falls in love with MC even if he has a harem and pursues married women destroying families.

She would even destroy the boy who helped her and her family in the past for no reason. This would involve the boy's family who even though are powerful people would die at the hands of MC.

If the world chooses some obnoxious idiot to represent it, then it is better to let the world perish than to save it.

Aaron sighed thinking about this, 'I hope this world is not like that stories where hard work is wasted and something like plot armor is pushed forward.'

'Damn, I'm overthinking again. Having memories of past life is both a boon and a curse. I can never have a life without worries.'

Aaron shook his head, 'I shouldn't think about that. Aarrghh! Concentrate on the present.'

After having breakfast and filling a bag with necessities for lunch, Aaron left his home towards the dungeon called Goblin's Dungeon.

---

Goblin's dungeon is one of the most common monster-type dungeons present in the world. The number of these dungeons would easily be in the middle three digits across the world. This is just the number that were accessible to people. No one knows how many more are there in the inaccessible parts of the world.

Goblin's dungeon belong to F-rank and E-rank. No dungeon that has goblins with higher rank was ever found until now.

The F-rank dungeons were commonly referred as newbie dungeons. This is because they are usually easy to clear and also don't cover a lot of area. As the rank of the dungeon increase, so does the area and number of monsters inside.

Since a newbie dungeon is considered small when compared to other dungeons, every newly awakened hunter would go hunting for the first time in these newbie dungeons.

Though goblin dungeons are considered newbie dungeons, the fatality is also high in these dungeons. This was because of two reasons.

The first reason is that goblins usually move in groups, making it difficult to hunt solo.

The second reason is the inflated ego of the newly awakened hunter.

As soon as they awaken a profession, they feel like they are invincible in the world. Only when they go through the dungeons would they learn how wrong they were. The ones who survived would never underestimate the dungeons.

To enter a dungeon one needed an identity card which would be provided by the Hunter's Guild. This guild was the one that maintains the order around dungeons. Each time you enter a dungeon, you need to pay a certain fee for entry, depending on the rank of the dungeon.

There are only two exemptions where the fee would be waived.

One is when the dungeon seems to be at the point of breaking. This usually happens only in higher-level dungeons now. So this exemption would not apply to the low-level dungeons.

The second is after awakening. A newbie hunter can get a free entry card for an entire month until the test for academies start. The newly awakened hunter had to apply for a card and show that they recently awakened.

This exception is for newbies, so this rule applies only to newbies' dungeons. Even in the grace period, if the newbie wanted to enter the higher dungeon, they need to pay the fee.

Aaron went first to the Hunter's guild to register, but it is fully occupied. This is the day after awakening, and that means every newly awakened student is present here at this moment. No one wants to waste a day before the test. They needed to get the card and enter the dungeon as early as possible.

Only by this, they can reach a higher level and can surpass others, paving the way for their entry into prominent academies.

The first criteria that needed to be fulfilled was the level. If by the time of the teat dungeon, you are still below level 10, then that means the chances of entering good academies has declined.

This is something everyone knows. So there would be a lot of competition and to overcome that, one needs to stand out by reaching a level no one can reach by the time of the exam.

Aaron sighed, looking at the queue. It would take one or two hours before he gets his chance, or so he hoped.
