Chapter 2

Outside the restaurant, the driver had been waiting for a long time. After getting in the car, I realized Garett's jacket was still on me.

I asked the driver to turn around. When we arrived back at the restaurant, a familiar figure appeared before my eyes.

It was Josie, Garett's mistress of six months.

She wore a black tight-fitting spaghetti strap dress that accentuated her enviable curves. Walking on high heels, she swayed her slender waist as she entered the restaurant.

My breath caught, my heart feeling as if squeezed by a giant hand, filled with a prickling pain.

As soon as she entered the private room, she smoothly sat on Garett's lap, wrapping her arms around his neck, her tone coquettish:

"I came as soon as I got your call. I've missed you so much, baby."

With that, her thin lips met Garett's, a fleeting kiss like a dragonfly skimming water.

Garett smirked seductively, his eyes filled with lust.

His large hand cupped the back of her head, deepening the kiss, as if he wanted to meld her into his body.

A chorus of whoops erupted around them.

"No wonder Garett keeps a mistress. Who could resist someone like Josie? She's the perfect mix of innocent and seductive."

I stood outside the door, coldly watching the scene unfold before me, my heart gradually becoming numb.It turns out they had known about all of this all along, and were playing along with Garett's act to fool me.

While I was trying so hard to fit into their world, hoping to become one of them.

Little did I know, I was nothing but a clown.

In my daze, Josie had already climbed off Garett. She raised her glass, using her drink in place of alcohol, and boldly toasted everyone present.

A friend teased, "Garett, you're eating well, aren't you? We're dying of envy over here."

"We thought you'd stay pure for Luna, but it looks like even our chaste warrior has fallen."

Hearing my name, the smile on Garett's face faded, replaced by a cold expression. He spoke with a warning tone:

"I hope everyone can keep this under wraps. If Luna finds out, don't blame me for being harsh."

The atmosphere instantly dropped to freezing.

A friend promised, thumping his chest, "Garett, don't worry. We're all trustworthy. Your wife will never know about this in her lifetime."

"Yeah, relax. As long as you hide it well enough, she'll never find out. Women are the easiest to fool."

As the group chimed in with their assurances, Garett's brow began to unfurrow. To spice things up, Josie suggested playing a game of Truth or Dare.

Whoever the bottle pointed to when spun had to tell the truth.

After a few rounds, it was finally Josie's turn.

Her friend asked mischievously, "When was the last time you two did it?"

Josie giggled coyly, "Yesterday, in Garett's office."
