Chapter 1

I'm a deep-sea coral farmer who grafted an exotic species and was about to receive a hefty bonus.

My brother and his girlfriend happened to be on vacation and wanted to join me to see the coral.

I repeatedly stressed safety precautions, but his girlfriend, fancying herself a strong swimmer, was reluctant to listen and even complained that I was ruining their intimate time.

In a critical moment, my brother snatched my oxygen tank and gave it to his girlfriend.

I died from lack of oxygen and returned to the day we set sail.

————————

"Sister, my girlfriend is a swimming champion. We don't need to listen to this useless stuff."

My brother impatiently pushed me from the cabin onto the deck, not wanting me to interrupt their private time together.

It was then that I realized I had been reborn.

In my previous life, I had earnestly tried to persuade them to remember the safety instructions.

The sea is fundamentally different from a swimming pool.

But they didn't take it seriously at all, even accusing me of disrupting their lovey-dovey time.

While his girlfriend was looking at the coral, her oxygen tank leaked, causing her to have difficulty breathing.

Without a second thought, he snatched my tank away, kicking me hard in the chest to prevent me from taking it back.

If I could speak underwater, he would surely have said:

"Sis, you're a professional coral farmer, spending years in the sea. You must have a way to survive."

But without oxygen, I would die.

The safety instructions clearly stated that in emergencies, we could share oxygen tanks.

He replaced his girlfriend's oxygen tank and swam up with her without hesitation.

He didn't even think about finding someone to rescue me.

Soon, we reached the coral farming area.

My brother, holding his girlfriend's hand, saw our lifeguard about to dive in and quickly said:

"No need, my girlfriend is a swimming champion. She'll protect me."

His voice was full of pride. His girlfriend looked at the lifeguard with disdain, pretending to be skilled as she helped him put on his diving suit and secure the oxygen tank.

But she didn't realize she had fastened one of the buckles incorrectly.

I didn't bother to remind her or help correct the mistake.

Instead, it was Brother Lincoln the lifeguard who spoke up.

Wylie immediately snapped back: "My girlfriend knows what she's doing. She doesn't need your help."

He gave Luna a starry-eyed look, though she actually hadn't noticed the error.

But she stubbornly went through the motions of adjusting his gear again.

Wylie wouldn't let anyone touch his precious girlfriend either. Under Luna's guidance, he helped her put on her diving suit and other equipment.

The couple insisted that no one else come along - they only wanted me to take them down to see the coral.

They called it a romantic underwater stroll, saying they didn't want too many people.

They even threatened to file a complaint against us, jeopardizing our research, if we made the lifeguard accompany them.

Our research institute partners with the diving company. If we can't attract customers, they'll stop investing.

I had no choice but to take them down by myself.

Once again, I convinced Brother Lincoln that he didn't need to come with us.Brother Lincoln took out the consent form, and Wylie and Luna immediately signed it. For the guarantor section, Wylie asked me to fill it in.

"You two lovebirds are so affectionate, surely you'd be willing to be each other's guarantor, right?"

I wasn't about to write my own name again.

I could already picture their ugly expressions as they claimed my prize money and demanded compensation from my teacher after my death.

Hearing this, the two exchanged loving glances and signed without hesitation.

They looked as if they'd be willing to die for each other.

Once we were in the water, the two of them swam off on their own to look at the coral, completely ignoring my instructions.

Seeing that Luna's oxygen tank clip was about to come loose just like in my previous life, I pointed at my stomach, indicating that I had a stomachache.

He impatiently told me to go back, perfect for some alone time with Luna.

I insisted that it wasn't safe for them to stay and that we should all go back together, then come down again later.

Neither of them was happy about it.

Everyone had an underwater recorder, which documented their disobedience.

I returned to the boat, and Brother Lincoln helped me change out of my wetsuit. I went to the bathroom, and when I came out, only Wylie had surfaced.

He urgently said, "Sis, you gotta save her! Luna's still down there!"So it turned out that in a critical moment, his love meant nothing.

Brother Lincoln pulled him up and jumped into the sea to save the person. I also pretended to look at the sea surface with concern.

Wylie grabbed my collar reproachfully, "Sis! Why didn't you call us up? If anything happens to Luna, I'm not letting you off the hook!"
