Chapter 2: The Unseen Danger

A knock echoed through the house, pulling me out of my thoughts.

When my father opened the door, a woman stepped inside. Her long silver hair flowed down her back, and her violet eyes gleamed with sharp intelligence. She held herself with an air of confidence, and her presence immediately filled the room.

She glanced at me and smiled warmly. "My name is Sofia Valtor," she introduced herself, her voice calm and authoritative. "From today onward, I will be your teacher."

"Hello, please come inside," my father said, welcoming her in.

After my parents greeted her, Sofia stepped inside. She moved gracefully as she entered the house, exuding an aura of composure.

"Please, have a seat," my mother offered, gesturing to the chairs.

"Thank you," Sofia replied politely, settling into one of the chairs.

"So, is this the boy I will be teaching?" Sofia asked, her gaze shifting to me.

"Yes," my father responded, a proud smile on his face. "Cain is our son. He's quite talented, even at this age."

Sofia raised an eyebrow in surprise. "How old is he? He's so young."

"He's only five," my father said, his smile widening. "But he's already shown remarkable aptitude. We believe he has a great future ahead of him."

Sofia seemed a bit taken aback. "Really?" she said, glancing at me in disbelief.

My father nodded and added, "You'll start tomorrow. This part of the house will be yours for now."

"Cain, be polite and listen to your teacher," my mother reminded me with a soft smile.

Later That Afternoon

I was back in my room, reading through some old books, just as I used to in my past life whenever my parents weren't around. Losing myself in the pages had always been an escape. As I read, something caught my eye—a book about a mysterious group known as the Eclipse Crusaders.

The Eclipse Crusaders were legendary warriors who had once stopped a powerful enemy organization that nearly destroyed the kingdom. They fought with unparalleled strength and bravery, sacrificing themselves to prevent catastrophe.

The more I read, the more horrifying the story became. The Eclipse Crusaders had battled an incredibly destructive enemy, and countless innocent lives were lost in the aftermath of their war.

As I continued reading, one sentence stood out:

"The remaining members of the enemy organization are attempting to revive their leader, and they will return to bring destruction upon this world once again."

As I continued reading, one sentence stood out:

"The remaining members are trying to revive their leader. They will return and bring destruction upon this world once again."

I couldn't stop myself from reading. The curiosity burning in me had taken over, and I lost track of time. I had always been like this in my past life, immersing myself in books whenever my parents were away.

When I stepped outside for some fresh air, I noticed my parents laughing together. My father was teasing my mother, and they looked genuinely happy.

I couldn't help but think to myself, "I hope they stay like this forever. I don't want them to end up like my parents in my old life."

Later That Night

I tried to sleep, but the noises coming from my parents' room were impossible to ignore. I groaned and buried my face in my pillow.

"Oh my God, I can't sleep with this noise," I muttered to myself.

Frustrated, I decided to step outside for a bit.

As I passed by my parents' room, I froze. Sofia was outside the door, oddly fiddling with her body. She seemed to be deep in concentration, as if doing something to pass the time. It struck me as strange, but I dismissed it, not wanting to get involved.

What's she doing here? I wondered, my curiosity piqued.

I quickly hid behind a wall, careful not to make a sound. Forget about it, I thought, dismissing my curiosity. I just need some water and I'll go back to sleep.

The Next Morning

The sun had already risen, and I knew it was time to begin my magic training. Today was the day I would take the first steps toward learning how to control my power.
