Alfred!
Sylvia paused, turning her head towards the door. But she looked at Donovan again with a smile with the intent to continue.
Donovan put both of his hands on her shoulder and gently pushed her away. He said, "There's... a delivery."
"Mm..." Sylvia hummed, and she got off of him. Donovan quickly got out of the sofa and headed towards the door. His back was drenched in sweat.
He slowly opened the door, and felt something bump against his leg. He looked down, and saw nothing.
Is it Alfred in his invisible form...?
Relaxing, Donovan closed the door. As he returned to Sylvia, she was already fast sleep. Then, Alfred's small figure with thick, brown fur appeared on the table in front of the sofa.
Alfred said in a deep, rough voice, "Where's my 'thank you'?"
"Thank you." Donovan replied.
Alfred looked at Sylvia, and said, "Get her off the sofa and take her to bed. She's occupying my spot."
Take her to bed?! Are you insane?! Oh wait, yeah I think I should. I'll just sleep on the sofa.
Donovan carried her gently to bed, covering her with a blanket. He watched her sleeping face for a while before returning to the sofa.
What a night... I told Alfred earlier to find a way to interrupt us if something were to happen... Can't believe I was right.
He sat on the sofa, and continued thinking.
She was drunk. Was she drinking... with someone...? No, probably not. If so, she wouldn't come here. She was drinking alone, then?
Donovan sighed.
So she's single...
After a while, Alfred turned off the TV and went to his own bed. Donovan dusted off the fur on the sofa, and eventually fell asleep.
The next morning, he woke up at 5:30. He went to check up on Sylvia, and she was still asleep. Donovan got the Chef robot to make breakfast for two.
He also made the Cleaning robot to vacuum the floor. He instructed the robot to make the vacuum silent so as to not wake Sylvia up.
Then, at 6:41, Sylvia woke up and sat up on the bed. She rubbed her eyes, and looked around her. "Hm?"
She rubbed her eyes again. Then, her face heated up as she recalled last night's events. She gripped the blanket tightly and held it to her chest.
Oh god, oh god, oh god! I messed up so bad!
Her mind was panicking, and as she was about to get out of bed, she heard Donovan's voice, "Sylvia, you're awake. Breakfast's ready. Good morning."
Huh? Breakfast? Breakfast?!
Donovan saw her face that's beet red like a tomato. Haha... She's cute when she's flustered...
Sylvia coughed, turned her head to the side, and said while avoiding Donovan's stare, "Uh... About last night, uh... I'm really, really sorry."
Donovan offered a faint smile, and said, "It's fine. Come on, food's getting cold."
Sylvia's gaze landed on Donovan, and she was momentarily breathtaken. To her, Donovan looked more handsome as usual. His brown hair that complimented his face, his green eyes looking at her, and the faint stubble.
After a moment of silence, she said, "Y-Yeah. Uh, thanks. Oh, and good morning..."
So when you're flustered, your carefree attitude disappears, huh... Hehe. Donovan thought as he went towards the small table. He took a seat, and so did Sylvia. She was seated beside Donovan.
As they ate their food, the silence was somewhat comfortable with a bit of awkwardness.
After they were done, Sylvia remained on her seat as Donovan washed the dishes.
At this moment, the invisible Alfred was eating his food silently beside the bed. The bowl, as well as the Vorlan food, was also invisible.
She watched Donovan's back as he washed the dishes, and coughed. She then said, trying to get back to her usual, carefree attitude, "So, Donovan, what do you want us to do for today, hm~?"
Oh, right. It's Valentine's Day, and I asked her to be my valentine...
"We could... go on a date." Donovan said as he washed the dishes. Using all the knowledgeable he's built up from reading romance works in his previous life, all he came up with was a date.
"Mhm. That could be fun." Sylvia said with a smile.
I kinda wanna ask her how or why she got drunk... Eh, forget it.
Sylvia turned to face the windows. "Great weather today, huh?"
Although the Sun still existed, Umbrellas was just a floating city out in space, and not a planet. The weather inside Umbrellas wasn't really real, but even so, it was hard to tell if it was or not. Even Donovan was surprised the first time, because the weather looked too real. It could turn into night and day. It could even rain, snow, have thunderstorms, etc.
"Yeah." Donovan replied.
I'll go pay Dean a visit after... my date with... Sylvia... Is this really happening? Am I really going to go on a date with such a beautiful girl? And it's Sylvia Swan! Can we still call each other friends after this...?
"What time do you want to go?" Donovan asked.
"At... 9-ish, I think. I still have some things to take care of." She paused, and said, "I guess I better get going." She stood up.
At that moment, Donovan quickly asked, "Where do you want to meet up?"
"Hm... Either the park or at the movies. It's the park for me. You?" Sylvia said with a gentle smile.
"The park."
"Alright, then. See you later, Donovan~" She said playfully as she headed towards the front door and left.
Then, Alfred appeared on the table while staring at the front door. He said in a rough voice, "She seems fun."
Yep... I told myself I wouldn't get distracted... but why does being around her make me feel like this?
...
8:48 a.m. Donovan took a deep breath and looked at himself in the tall mirror again. He wore an outfit he wore previously, gray turtleneck sweater and a black overcoat. He also wore circular tinted sunglasses.
If I had white hair and blue eyes, I'd look like a certain strongest sorcerer... Hehe, should I be thankful I transmigrated in such a great body with a handsome face?
He also made sure to shave.
Goodbye, stubble... I'll see you again in a few days, so no need to worry.
His medium-length brown hair was parted in a deep 7:3 ratio.
After taking care of everything else, he left his apartment as Alfred was busy watching the TV. He made sure to lock the door. He didn't bring his umbrella with him.
He reached the park at 9:05. I'm not late, am I?
Then, he saw Sylvia sitting on a metal bench under the shade of a tree from afar.
Unlike earlier and last night, her hair wasn't styled in a wolfcut. Instead, she just let it loose, letting her smooth, black hair flow.
I wonder how she changes hairstyles everytime. A spell? Donovan thought.
Her makeup was light, just a touch of blush and a hint of gloss enhancing her features. She wore a black leather jacket, skinny jeans, and boots. She gave off a cool and effortless vibe.
At that moment, while she was busy on her phone, she noticed someone approaching her in the distance. It was none other than Donovan Volgard.
She smiled, put away her phone, and stood up. As they both approached, she said, "Hey, looking good, handsome~"
"...You too." Donovan said with a faint smile.
She offered a gentle smile. Then, Sylvia saw how his hair was styled, reached out her right hand, and messed up his hair. She chuckled as she said, "You look goofy with that hairstyle."
Donovan didn't protest. Then, she said, "I wanna go to the movies first."
"Alright." Just as Donovan finished speaking, Sylvia grabbed his hand and started running. Donovan was first taken aback, but he gave in and started running with her.
Sylvia looked back at him as they both ran, and with cheerful eyes, she gave him the biggest smile in the universe.
