Not much is recorded about Jesus' early years, but we know that He grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man. One significant event occurred when Jesus was twelve years old. His family traveled to Jerusalem for the Passover festival. When they departed, they realized Jesus was missing. After three days, they found Him in the temple, discussing scripture with the teachers, who were astonished at His understanding. When Mary asked why He had stayed behind, He replied, "Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?"
Jesus returned with His parents to Nazareth, living in obedience until the time appointed for His public ministry.
