Turning Stones into Bread – Satan urged Jesus to prove His divine power by satisfying His hunger: "If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." Jesus, quoting scripture, responded, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." (Deuteronomy 8:3)
Testing God's Protection – Satan took Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple, urging Him to throw Himself down, citing scripture that angels would protect Him. Jesus replied, "You shall not put the Lord your God to the test." (Deuteronomy 6:16)
Offering Worldly Kingdoms – Satan promised Jesus dominion over all the kingdoms of the world if He would bow down and worship him. Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.'" (Deuteronomy 6:13)
Defeated, Satan departed, and angels came to minister to Jesus. This event demonstrated Jesus' obedience to God and His ability to overcome temptation, serving as a model for His followers.
