Booommm!
Covering his eyes, Lewis barely managed to cover himself from the bright flash of light. Blinking rapidly, his sight returned soon enough.
And what he saw overturned his entire worldview.
He and the youngsters stood inside a large cathedral, chandeliers swinging every couple of meters. Stained glass of epic proportions dotted the walls, each depicting various myths. Some held stories of heroes dlayomgbdragons, while others spoke of saints curing the sick. Their magnificent designs made him drop his eyes in awe.
It's so beautiful...
Just then, one of the youngsters, the boy by the name of Natsuki, began demanding answers. "Where are we!? And who are you guys!?"
Only then did Lewis notice that they weren't alone. Stood in front of them were knights, clad in shining armour, embroidered with red and blue across the edges. "How dare you speak with insolence to Her Majesty!? Kneel and beg for forgiveness!"
One of them, obviously the leader, grew outraged at the young man's brusque question. He took out his sword from his waist, pointing at Natsuki. The two girls behind him immediately began cowering, using Natsuki as a shield.
Just as Lewis was about to go out and confront the knight, a young woman emerged from behind them, sporting a fancy dress and a diamond (or what looked it) tiara.
"Halt, my precious knights. Do not frighten out heroes, for they must be confused. Let us explain to them why we have summoned them as we journey back to the castle, for the King must know we have succeeded." With that, the knight sheathed his sword. Though simmering with rage at their insolence ece, he followed her directions.
As they journeyed to the castle, Lewis managed to get the gist of why they were summoned:
1) The Demon King has resurrected
2) They plan to destroy all of humanity
3) To do this, they need at least five years to prepare for the invasion, for right now they are currently trapped in the continent of Nihilis
4)To combat this, they decided to summon heroes from another world to help fight them, for they always gain extraordinary powers when they reach here
5) There are also traitors working for them
Upon hearing this, Natsuki grew enraged. Just as he was about to rise up, a giant shadow looked over them.
They had reached the castle.
Seeing that they had reached their destination, all of them disembarked from the carriage. As soon as they did so, the knights hurried them in, for the King was waiting for them.
Entering the massive hall, they saw a massive figure sitting on the throne, his regal bearing illuminating the room. "Welcome to Earadun, young travellers. I am Bumaro the Fifth, ruler of the Kingdom of Strisk. We have summoned you to help us vanquish the evil Demon King, and thwart his attempt at destroying the world. We are also very sorry, for we have summoned without your permission. But rest assured, the Holy Goddess, Illumia the Beautiful, will surely return you back home once your mighty mission is complete. Now, Cynthia, my dear daughter, please help our heroes check their statuses."
Wait, she's the princess!
As this thought flew through everyone's mind, they soon realised that a giant crystal ball was wheeled in. Turning towards them, Cynthia, the princess, called them one by one. "Dear heroes, please come one by one. The appraisal crystal will reveal your occupations and the gifts that go along with them. Please, put your hands on it."
As Natsuki, Megumi, and Hina put their hands in, a bright light emanated from it. From it, small bracelets emerged from them, wrapping themselves around their wrists.
"Now, heroes, please reveal your occupations so that we may be able to help you train to the best of your abilities."
With that, everyone began revealing themselves for what they were. Natsuki was revealed to be the 'Holy Warrior', Megumi the Saintess, and Hina the Archmage. Buamro smiled from the throne, pelted with the results. "Hahahah! Well done dear daughter! The Holy Trinity of the legends shall once again destroy the evil Demon King!" With that, the king began clapping g, please with the results
As each began experimenting with their abilities, Lewis raised his hands from the back. "Umm, what about me? I'm just an old man..." As he began raising his hands, he was shocked to see that wrinkles no longer adorned them. Instead, all that remained was smooth, callus-free skin, sparkling in the bright hall.
What the-!?
Bumaro finally noticed the odd one out. "Hmm, interesting. There's only supposed to be three heroes among the summoned ones. Though we don't know why you're here, we must abide by the ancient code, and let you be judged by the appraisal crystal as well. Cynthia, please let this gentleman use the crystal."
Although she was also confused, Cynthia did what was requested of her. She took ahold of Simon's hands, pacing it on the side of the crystal. The crystal glowed once more, though this time it glitched a little. Even though they did not notice it, Lewis found it quite odd. But before he could address the issue, the bracelet came out, wrapping itself around his wrist.
C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, gimme something good...
