In the usual cafe, Franco sat staring at the ceiling, trying to process the fact that he had survived the previous mission. Beside him, Marco was calmly chewing on a slice of pizza as if nothing had happened, while Salvo flipped through the documents they had stolen.
"Well, let's be real," Franco finally said. "These documents must contain top secret information, right?"
Marco smiled slyly. "Of course! They're top secrets…"
Franco swallowed. "Like what? Assassination plans? Arms deals? Names of top gangsters?"
Marco nodded and said,
"No, it's a list of the best pizza shops in town!"
Franco froze. Salvo stopped flipping. Then he said in a cold voice,
"Marco, if you're joking, I'll make you taste a bullet."
Marco burst out laughing. "Okay, okay! Just kidding! These documents contain information about money smuggling operations. But the funny part? There's a whole page dedicated to rating the pizzerias that Zacrota loves!"
Franco slammed his head on the table. "This guy is a danger to society!"
But before he could continue, a large man wearing a black coat and sunglasses entered the café, even though the sun had set hours ago. He approached the table and placed a box of hot pizza in front of them.
Marco looked at him and said, "What is this?"
The man didn't answer. He just left the café.
Franco looked at the box cautiously. "This is… very strange."
Marco smiled and said, "Free pizza! What idiot would refuse it?"
Salvo looked at him coldly. "What kind of person has a brain?"
Marco didn't listen. He opened the box and took a slice, then took a bite.
"Hmm…" He chewed slowly. "It tastes different…"
Franco asked him cautiously, "Different how?"
Marco smiled and said, "It's like a taste..."
Suddenly, his face fell on the table.
When the pizza becomes deadly
Franco froze. Salvo raised his eyebrows.
"Is he dead?"
Franco shook Marco hard. "Marco! Wake up! Who's going to bother me anymore?!"
Marco slowly raised his head, his eyes half-closed, then muttered:
"I... see... an angel..."
Franco hit him on the head. "That's not an angel, that's Salvo!"
Salvo sighed and said, "Marco, what do you feel?"
Marco tried to concentrate. "It's like I drank ten cups of coffee at once!"
Franco gasped. "Wait... do you mean the pizza..."
Marco nodded. "It's full of stimulants!"
Salvo looked at the box and said, "That means someone wanted us to try it, or it was a trap for someone else."
Franco quickly said: "We need to find out who sent it!"
Marco, who was now in a state of hyperactivity, quickly stood up and said:
"Okay! Let's start searching! But first… who wants to run around the cafe ten times?!"
Franco and Salvo stared at him, then decided to ignore him.
Investigating the Suspicious Pizza Case
The three of them left the cafe, and tried to follow the mysterious man who brought the pizza. After a while, they discovered that he had entered a nearby pizzeria.
Marco, who still felt like a charged battery, stormed in and said:
"Chef! Who sent this pizza?!"
The chef, a bald man with a huge belly, looked at them in surprise. "What pizza?"
Marco put the box on the table. "This!"
The chef approached it, smelled it, and then said: "This isn't from us."
Franco felt a shiver. "So… where did it come from?"
The chef shrugged. "I don't know, but this box isn't from any well-known restaurant."
Salvo said coldly: "That means someone made it especially for us."
Marco, who was still feeling an unnatural energy, said: "That's great! We have a new enemy, but at least he's feeding us!"
Franco sighed. "Marco… I'm sure this enemy wants to kill us, not feed us!"
Marco thought for a moment, then said: "But why did he use stimulants instead of poison?"
Salvo said: "Maybe he wanted to see our reaction first? Or maybe the target was someone else?"
Franco sighed and said: "We have to find out the truth, or we'll end up in a worse situation than this!"
Marco smiled and said: "Okay, but first of all… Who wants a running race around the restaurant?!"
Franco and Salvo looked at him, then decided that ignoring him was always the best option.
