Scene 1: Awakening Strength
Lin Feng submerged himself deeper into the medicinal bath, feeling the searing warmth seep into his muscles. His body still bore the marks of battle, cuts that had already begun to close, bruises that faded with each breath. The scent of rare herbs lingered in the air, mixing with the damp heat of the cave.
Across from him, Master Yen sat with his arms crossed, a smirk playing on his lips. His broad frame leaned against the stone wall, muscles rippling even in stillness. The pride in his gaze was evident.
"You lasted longer than I expected," he admitted, his voice carrying a hint of approval. "Fighting until the body gives out, yet refusing to fall… Not bad, brat. Not bad at all."
Lin Feng exhaled sharply, gripping the edge of the wooden tub. "I wasn't going to let them win."
Master Yen laughed, deep and confident. "Win? Those were scraps. Constructs barely worth calling an opponent. If that nearly broke you then the real tempering is still far beyond your reach."
Lin Feng clenched his jaw but said nothing. He knew.
He had reached the fifth stage of Body Tempering, yet he was far from true strength. His muscles were stronger, his skin tougher but against real threats, against the Heavens themselves, this was nothing.
Master Yen stood, his presence filling the cave. "You've hardened your skin. Now, it's time for something far more crucial."
His smirk widened as he spoke, his voice carrying weight.
"The Second Pillar of the Unyielding Body: Tendons of the Unbending Dragon."
Scene 2: The Second Pillar Mantra
Lin Feng's mind stirred the moment the words left Master Yen's lips. Power surged through his veins, his vision dimming as an ancient will pressed against his soul.
Then, a voice deep resonanted and echoed in the depths of his consciousness.
"A dragon's tendons never break, never wane.
They weather the storm, endure the strain.
Unyielding in might, steady and true,
Each strike they unleash shakes the heavens anew."
A sharp pain ran through Lin Feng's body as the knowledge of the second pillar rooted itself within him. His tendons tightened, pulsing with heat. It was not a technique he could merely practice, it was a transformation he had to forge through hardship.
Master Yen watched, satisfaction gleaming in his eyes. "Good. The knowledge has settled within you. Now, we begin."
Lin Feng opened his eyes, his breathing heavy. "How do I train it?"
Master Yen grinned. "Simple."
He pointed towards the deeper parts of the cave, where the shadows seemed to stretch endlessly.
"You run. You pull. You endure."
Lin Feng frowned, but before he could ask, Master Yen's expression turned serious.
"A dragon's tendons don't just let it move, they allow it to dominate. To twist, to strike, to withstand. If you can't control the flow of power through your tendons, your strikes will lack force, your speed will falter, and your body will crumble under its own strength."
Master Yen cracked his knuckles. "So, we'll start by seeing how much punishment those new tendons of yours can take."
Lin Feng exhaled, pushing himself up from the bath. The warmth of the medicinal herbs still clung to his skin but the real trial was about to begin.
The training for the Second Pillar had begun.
