Evan's face was so gloomy as he hung up the phone. Anguish tightened around his heart like a vise when he stared at Melissa's name on his screen.

He hesitated, torn between the hurt and the longing, before finally dialing her number again.

He looked at it for a few moments, contemplating whether he should call or not, his heart pounding in his chest.

Finally, he closed his eyes and let his fingers guide him. He tapped the call button. As expected, Melissa's phone rang, but she never answered. The silence was deafening.

On the second attempt, he was met with an unwelcome surprise—"Blocked."

Frustration boiled over, and Evan slammed his phone onto the desk, the resounding clang echoing through the empty office like a thunderclap. It was then that Joan, his assistant come in, he looked at her coldly and yelled out loud that even the workers outside could hear his voice.

" Go find where she is! You got ten minutes."

Joan felt like she might loss her job because of this scandal, she bowed her head down as she treked out.

Moments later Joan come in again, Evans expected her to come with good new but it was even worse.

" We tracked Ms Melissa's whereabouts, but...it seems she's not in the country as we speak."

Evans felt suffocated, his thin lips were pursed, as his eyes widen and his face grew darker.

Two hours later, Reynolds cooperation was able to delete the statement involving Melissa from the internet and issued an apology stating that it was just a family misunderstanding.

However they didn't clarify the marriage issues between Evans Reynolds and Melissa.

Unfortunately, it was still a little late, evens then went to Melissa's social media account, where he found few happy moments of their life together but he wasn't so close to him since they never lived like real couples.

He never cared how she was and whats happening around her, all he knew was — he had a wife.

Looking as this posts made Evans to smile, as he feels after all all the five years of their marriage, atleast there's something to show of, that he never thought existed .

At that moment he understood that he never cared and understood her, when ever she wanted to come closer, he always distanced himself further.

And was never participated in her happiness.

Everyone of her post was about him, apart from the one she posted that morning,

It was as if their marriage was going to seriously end.

He suddenly felt as if something is missing in him.

Some part of his heart was missing.

Though he wanted to continue scrolling, but the more he scrolled the more he felt as if his missing her.

But still he couldn't stop himself but to continue scrolling, but the post ended, he still wanted to look at them more that he refreshed the page.

Unfortunately, all the posts disappeared, they were deleted that very moment he commented on one of the post.

The only post that was left was the morning one about his photo and Cathy. The numbers and likes kept increasing and so we're the comments.

"She...she deleted everything, so she wants to pretend as if the five years never existed?

Evans panicked his gaze become blur, and his heart felt like it was being crushed.

For the first time in five years, that he felt so much pain about lossing Melissa.

"You can't hid forever! I will find you , even if l have to turn the world world upside down.

A month later , it was time for their final divorce, Melissa went and signed the divorce then left before Evans could find her there, few minutes passed, Evans Reynolds arrived , to his suprise, Melissa signed the papers and disappeared.

He felt painin his heart, he had hopes of atleast meeting and talking to her that day, but it was scattered.

He went in, signed and was given a divorce certificate, and Melissa's was picked by her big brother Matteo.

The very day of their finally divorce, there was a huge business bouquet taking place at night.

The the trans—nation business banquet was held once every year and was for dignitaries and elites of the society. Almost all the upper class were present .

The banquet wasn't open to the public, security was so tight that even the paparazzi were stoped from secretly snapping picture.

Soon a luxurious Mercedes AMG slowly stoped at the entranceof the Waldorf. Evans Reynolds looked very handsome and noble when he stepped out of his car. And was undoubtedly the main focus of everyone as he made his grand entrance on the red carpet, besides him was his companion, Cathy Hudson.

Cathy was so happy when she learnt about their divorce. She knew this was her only chance to marry into the Reynolds family.

However, after all this time, Evans has never visited her , not even once , ever since the hospital incidence.

Cathy was only able to attend the grand banquet because the invitationwas also sent to her by Evans mother.

Her effeminate looking face and expensive custom dress would move any man, she was so beautiful and gorgeous.

" Welcome, Mr Reynolds..." The organizer went and shake their hands as he showed them the way.

But suddenly, Evans heard a commotion behind them at the entrance.

Someone said. On my gosh! Matteo Smith from central city is here...."

Matteo Smith was a legend on business world and everyone admired him. Although, Evans Reynolds was also a powerful business man but not as powerful as the smiths.

As soon as the smiths arrived , everyone was ready to shake hands with them and exchange pleasantries.

To their suprise, Mr Smith didn't move an inch after her stepped out of his car, he stood still, as if he was waiting for someone, then glanced around , and went to the other side of the car. Extended his hand modestly, which attracted the attention of the congregation.

Who did matteo Smith, who had never been with any woman for years bring to the banquet tonight.

"It's... Melissa..." A sound was heard from the crowd.

The slowly a woman wearing a costume handmade gown from British royal family, the dress was studded with pure diamonds, and was so dazzling with grandeur, it outlined her slender waist.

With a ruby necklace that outlined her neckline .

Not to talk about the make up that was extremely meticulously and highlighted her perfect looks, it made her look like a fairy.

Evans narrowed his dark eyes as he watched Melissa take Mr Matteo Smith' s hand and walked inside the hotel with him.

With a bright smile, Melissa was getting closer and closer to him by each step she took.
