Alexandra's POV—
I collected all the essentials and put them in my space. For now, only my hand can enter the space. It's basically like a shelf. Food supplies, knives, some clean clothes and a few water bottles are the things which I stored in the space. The more I level up my space, the more items I could keep in it.
I prepared myself mentally and left the villa. As I stood just outside of it, I analysed my surroundings. The roads were broken, akin to a debris. The vehicles were broken and some even had caught fire. The houses were turned into ruins. Broken trees were blocking the debris called roads. The leaves in the trees had turned from green to purple. The sky had a reddish tint to it, making it impossible to discern morning from afternoon. The sun was not visible as if, the sun had never risen in the first place.
'Where is the sun?'
[It won't rise again.]
Its words were short and crisp, sending shivers down my spine. The sun would no longer rise... it's similar to a nightmare.
Sighing, I started walking. I walked on the part of the road/debris, that was still walkable and jumped over the potholes.
After walking for almost one kilometre, the roads quality has started to get better. Having no longer to jump, I slowly walked on the road while looking around for zombies.
Till now, I haven't seen any zombies. The system had said that the first batch of zombies lacked the levelling crystals, called 'Ziones.' Unless they level up themselves, my level can't be increased. It was a very annoying thing for me. If they expect me to kill the male leads then at least they should have given me an alternative to increase my level.
My objective for now is to collect more supplies. I need medicines, weapons, and food supplies for me to survive.
Suddenly, I heard a loud noise. I quickly turned back and saw a man standing behind me with his head down. His shirt was covered up in blood and his left hand was missing, while blood was dripping from his mouth.
"Grrrrrrr!!!" growled the man... or better, I should call it a zombie. The zombie raised it head and looked at me. Its eyes were completely black. Saliva, mixed with blood was dripping from his mouth. Its hungry.
It is time to test my ability. I raised my hand and created an iron rod. Gripping the iron rod tightly, I ran towards it. For me, a zombie is nothing but a mindless monster. So, I won't be feeling any guilt after I kill it.
The zombie did the same. While my reasoning was, I should attack it first and finish it quickly, the zombie's reasoning was it wanted to eat me.
I smashed the iron rod into its head. Its head burst like a balloon and his body fell on the ground. I have killed my first zombie. With that in mind, I resumed my walking again.
'Map!' I yelled in the mind. The mechanical screen opened in front of me again. A map was displayed on the screen. It looks like the system has downloaded this area's map in his interface.
I followed the map's directions and reached the supermarket, which is my first target place. I am going to take a tent, kerosene and a few more food items.
I reached the supermarket's front gate and found it to be closed. I raised my iron rod and repeatedly bashed it on the lock. Hitting after 10 to 15 times, I finally broke the lock. I gripped my iron rod and entered into the supermarket. As I entered, I saw the lights were not working, while the shelves were disoriented. The items were sprawled across the floor. Some were broken and others laid upon one another, creating a mess.
I went to the counter and looked for some information. I need to find a tent. I found a journal which said the tent section is on the third floor.
I looked around and searched for the stairs. It wasn't much difficult to find the staircase. Keeping my guard up, I slowly climbed up the stairs.
I reached the first floor. It was the clothes section. There were numerous new clothes which looked really attractive. But what attracted my attention was, a series of blood spots on the floor.
I lifted the iron rod and prepared myself. Three zombies came into my view. They were growling and continuously sniffing the air. Suddenly, they ceased all their movements and ran towards me. I smashed the first zombie's head and threw the dagger at the second zombie's head, killing them both instantly. I conjured a sword and cut the third zombie's head off its shoulder. Blood splashed all over my clothes, dirtying them. Their blood reeked with a very pungent smell similar to a dead mouse.
Controlling my urge to vomit, I decided to search this whole floor for more zombies to kill. I searched every place, every fucking corners of the floor. After searching for a while, I found a zombie in the changing room. I quickly ran towards it and grabbed a chair, smashing its head with it, which resulted in breaking of the changing room's glass. The broken glasses pierced its head. It looked like a splintered human brain-salad. I could no longer control myself and vomited everything that was in my stomach.
I took out a handkerchief from my space and wiped away the vomit remnants from my mouth. I have to get acquainted with this. It's gonna be an everyday work for me. Even in my past life, it wasn't that bad. At the very least, the smell of the monsters wasn't this bed. Although, it might be just me and my sensitive nose. Maybe becoming a woman made my nose sensitive. Hah, whatever. Let's focus on finding the tent.
