Eevee vs. Gible

— — — — — — —

"Was young Cynthia always this competitive? And why is her starter Pokémon a Gible? That's way too extravagant!" Eevee Renzo thought, feeling a bit dazed by the situation.

"Oh? An Eevee? You don't see those around here very often! This one looks really well-developed. You should try capturing it, Cynthia!" Professor Carolina said with a warm smile.

As a Pokémon Professor, her judgment was rarely wrong. This Eevee was clearly in much better condition than the average one.

"Really? I knew I had a good eye!" Cynthia beamed at her grandmother's words and turned back to Eevee. "So, do you want to battle?"

"Eevee!" (Bring it on!)

Eevee let out an adorable cry, brimming with fighting spirit as it locked eyes with Gible.

"Today, I'm going to take down a pseudo-legendary! Let's see who's boss!" Eevee thought confidently.

After all, if it wanted to be Cynthia's main Pokémon, it had to prove itself first!

"This Gible is probably the one that will evolve into her future ace, Garchomp! Heh, let's see how it handles defeat!" Eevee grinned internally.

For now, it decided not to reveal its ability to speak human language—Cynthia might get freaked out. That could wait for later.

"Battle start!"

"Gible, use Sand Tomb!" Cynthia commanded.

"Gible!"

The ground beneath Eevee began to turn into quicksand, but it had already anticipated the move. Using chakra to boost its body, Eevee swiftly leaped out of the trap and dashed toward Gible with impressive speed.

"So fast!" Cynthia gasped. She was about to order Gible to counter, but it was too late.

"Tackle!"

BANG!

A translucent energy covered Eevee's forehead as it rammed directly into Gible's head.

BOOM!

Gible felt a powerful impact surge through its body. It was sent flying, landing half-buried in the ground with swirls in its eyes—completely knocked out.

A crater half a meter deep formed from the shockwave, kicking up a cloud of dust.

As the dust settled, Eevee stood there confidently, looking completely unfazed.

Gible, however, lay unconscious, still stuck in the ground.

"Wow… isn't Gible about to awaken the Rinnegan or something?" Eevee internally joked.

It was a bit surprised—Gible hadn't even lasted a single attack. But then again, chakra-enhanced moves were no joke.

Still, it couldn't let its guard down. Given enough training and with Cynthia as its trainer, Gible would grow strong quickly.

"This..." Cynthia and Professor Carolina were both stunned.

Neither of them expected the battle to end so fast, let alone with Gible suffering a total defeat.

"This Eevee is even more extraordinary than I thought!" Carolina's eyes sparkled with curiosity.

The speed and power of that Tackle were on a whole different level.

Eevee shivered as it noticed Carolina's intense gaze.

"Eevee!" (Oh no, she's got the researcher's stare!)

It quickly hopped onto Cynthia's shoulder, rubbing its head against her cheek in an affectionate display.

At the same time, it thought to itself, "Wow, Cynthia's skin is so soft...😊"

"Eevee!" (You're my Trainer now, no take-backs!)

"Huh?" Cynthia blinked in surprise, lifting Eevee up to face her. "You're saying… you want to be my Pokémon? Even though you won?"

"Eevee!" (Yep! You're rich—I mean, I believe in you!)

Eevee nodded enthusiastically.

"That's amazing! Eevee, you're the best!" Cynthia cheered, spinning around happily while hugging Eevee.

"Looks like this little one really likes you, Cynthia! Take good care of it!" Carolina smiled, then added, "It has incredible potential… and maybe even a few secrets. How about letting me study it a bit?"

"Eevee!" (Are you a demon?!)

Eevee's fur bristled immediately.

"Eevee… Eevee!!"

It leaped away from Carolina's outstretched hand, landing back on Cynthia's shoulder while frantically waving its tiny paws—clearly rejecting the idea.

"Ah…" Cynthia gave an awkward laugh. "Looks like Eevee doesn't like that idea, Grandma! I think it hates you now."

"Ahaha…" Carolina froze for a moment, then chuckled awkwardly. "I suppose so. This little one is pretty sensitive. Alright, I won't research it."

Eevee finally relaxed a little.

But just to be safe, it jumped down, tapped one of Cynthia's empty Ultra Balls, and voluntarily entered it.

Carolina: "...."

She was officially rejected. This was a first for her—a Pokémon actively avoiding her research!

"Wow! Eevee just willingly let me catch it! Grandma, did you see that?!" Cynthia beamed.

She immediately pressed the button, releasing Eevee again and hugging it tight like a plush toy.

"Congratulations, Cynthia!" Carolina smiled, then turned to Eevee with an apologetic look. "Sorry, Eevee. I was too eager. I promise I won't study you without your permission. Are we good now?"

"Eevee!" (Fine! I forgive you… for now! Don't push your luck!)

Eevee lifted its chin in a haughty but forgiving manner.

"That's a relief!" Carolina chuckled, understanding the gist of its response.

She then looked at Cynthia seriously. "Your new partner is special, Cynthia. Make sure to take good care of it. But, uh… aren't you forgetting something? Gible is still unconscious. That's not how a responsible Trainer acts."

"Oh no! Gible! Are you okay?!" Cynthia panicked, setting Eevee down and rushing to check on Gible.

Eevee casually hopped back onto her shoulder, watching like a spectator at a good drama.

Thankfully, Gible wasn't seriously injured—just a minor concussion. Carolina had the necessary medical equipment, so it was treated quickly.

After everything was settled, Cynthia said her goodbyes.

"Bye, Grandma!"

"Take care!" Carolina waved.

With Eevee in her arms, Cynthia officially set off on her journey.
