Inside the consciousness space…
Hermione, Eevee, Python, Uchiha Renzo, and the others were gathered, deep in discussion.
The topic? Transfiguration in the Harry Potter world.
Pirate Renzo had arrived full of excitement, ready to show off his recent achievements.
But… no one paid him any attention.
Left with no choice, he decided to sit quietly and listen to their conversation instead.
Hermione spoke first. "I've done extensive research on this, even borrowed Ron's rat—Peter Pettigrew—to analyze him with my [Omniscience]. I gathered some pretty complete data."
"Then, when Hagrid's baby dragon hatched, I used the same method to analyze its entire physical structure."
"During summer break, I even traveled to Romania's Dragon Sanctuary and observed the bodies of dozens of fire dragons."
"I also snuck into the Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts to study unicorns and other magical creatures, fully analyzing their physical structures as well."
"With all that, I think I'm ready to attempt an Animagus transformation into a magical creature!"
For an ordinary Animagus transformation, Hermione was already fully confident in her success.
In fact, after studying numerous Transfiguration books, consulting Professor McGonagall, and conducting a series of experiments using Peter Pettigrew, she had completely mastered the traditional Animagus transformation.
With her modified version, she was confident that any wizard with decent Transfiguration skills could successfully become an Animagus—
And they wouldn't have to go through all the hassle of drinking potions, waiting for thunderstorms, or holding a Mandrake leaf in their mouth for a month.
But of course, Hermione wasn't content with just turning into a regular animal.
Her real goal was to become a magical creature.
She wanted to transform into a unicorn, a dragon, or even a phoenix.
To her, that was what true Animagus transformation should be.
Compared to that, wizards like Peter Pettigrew and Professor McGonagall, who could only turn into ordinary animals and couldn't even use magic in those forms… well, that just wasn't good enough.
"But that's still not enough," Uchiha Renzo shook his head.
"Just understanding the physical structure isn't going to cut it. The key is the soul! If you don't fully analyze the soul structure of your transformation target, you're taking a huge risk."
"Otherwise, who knows? You might end up like those past Transfiguration researchers—blowing yourself to bits."
That's right.
Throughout Harry Potter history, many ambitious wizards had tried to surpass the limits of a normal Animagus transformation, attempting to turn into magical creatures instead.
After all, if they succeeded, they wouldn't just gain an animal form—they'd also acquire the unique traits of magical creatures.
Greater magic reserves. Longer lifespans. Enhanced strength. And much more.
But in the end?
Every single one of them failed. And their failures weren't pretty.
Uchiha Renzo wasn't about to let Hermione recklessly blow herself up like that.
That would be a huge waste—especially since the Harry Potter world had so much to offer.
Even after months of studying like crazy—using Shadow Clones to speed up the process—Hermione had only scratched the surface of her world's magical knowledge.
There was still a long road ahead.
"Yeah, better play it safe," Eevee agreed.
Eevee was also hoping Hermione would succeed in her experiments.
That way, maybe she could develop a reverse transformation technique—one that would let Pokémon take human form.
Then it could transform too!
Python had the same idea.
"Hey, I've got a thought."
Pirate Renzo, unable to hold back any longer, finally spoke up.
"If you need to fully understand both the physical and soul structure of your transformation target… why not choose Eevee?"
"I mean, analyzing Eevee's body and soul shouldn't be that difficult for us, right?"
"…Do you even need to say that?"
Hermione shot him a glare. "Of course I know! But an Animagus transformation is a one-time deal. If I only get one chance, I'd rather transform into a magical creature! Eevee isn't one!"
Pokémon were supernatural creatures, sure.
But they weren't magical creatures in the same way unicorns or dragons were.
The biggest difference? Magic itself.
While Eevee had gained magical energy from Hero Renzo and Hermione, it wasn't something it originally possessed.
"Actually… it's not impossible," Eevee spoke up.
"I could use your research on fire dragons and unicorns to simulate what a 'magical' version of me would look like."
"Of course, since my genes are too unstable, and there are too many unknown factors, I haven't fully figured them out yet," Eevee continued. "I suggest using one of my evolved forms for the experiment!"
"Compared to my base form, an evolved form has stabilized genes and follows a specific evolutionary path. That makes the genetic structure purer and simpler—meaning it'd be much easier for you to transform. What do you think?"
After all, transforming into a dragon or a unicorn still sounded way too dangerous.
One wrong step, and Hermione could literally blow herself sky-high.
"Would that really work?" Hermione asked, intrigued.
If this was an option, then it was definitely worth considering!
After all, aside from a few exceptions, most of Eevee's evolutions were pretty cool-looking!
"It'll be fine!"
Eevee nodded confidently. "You've already done in-depth research on fire dragons, unicorns, and other magical creatures. You've even summarized the patterns in their physical structures. All I have to do is use that as a reference and apply it to myself. That's not a problem at all!"
In the past, this might've been impossible.
But ever since obtaining the [Dōjutsu: Omniscience], Eevee felt like it had turned into a genius.
"Alright, let's give it a shot!"
Hermione finally made up her mind. This approach was safer, after all.
She wasn't reckless enough to take unnecessary risks.
One mistake, and she'd be done for.
---
At that moment, Pirate Renzo suddenly asked, "Eevee, won't your soul structure change if you take on a magical form?"
"Nope!"
Eevee shook its head. "Ever since I evolved into Espeon and awakened my psychic abilities, my soul and consciousness sea have already undergone a complete transformation!"
"Even though I later unlocked other evolution forms, my soul barely changed. I've already fully grasped the patterns of those changes!"
"Magic energy and Pokémon energy aren't the same, but they still fall within a similar range!"
"Who knows? Maybe I'll even unlock a magical evolution form!"
At this level, Eevee's psychic power was already strong enough to suppress any major changes to its soul.
Not to mention, there was also assistance from all the Renzos' spiritual energy and soul power.
"Then I've got no complaints! Let's give it a shot!"
Pirate Renzo nodded firmly. "If this works, we might even be able to refine and upgrade transfiguration into a divine transformation technique!"
"You're right!"
Everyone nodded in realization.
"This can only happen after I successfully transform into a magical creature," Hermione said. "I also need to figure out how to break the Animagus limitation—the rule that a wizard can only transform into one form for life."
"But this is definitely a promising research direction!"
Eevee sighed, spreading its paws. "In that case, I'll go work on the simulations right away!"
"Though honestly, if we had someone with deep knowledge of souls, this would be much easier…"
"Please, I need someone who's good with souls," Eevee said, lifting his paws as if in prayer.
"Oh?"
Just then, an unfamiliar voice echoed from a nearby passage.
"Soul research? I happen to know quite a bit about that! I overheard your conversation just now, and I must say, I'm very interested! Please, allow me to join in!"
"..."
"Who's there?!"
Everyone turned toward the source of the voice, startled.
"A new Renzo?"
Their eyes lit up with excitement and curiosity.
The next moment, a refined-looking young man stepped out from the passage.
He wore a white captain's haori with a bold "5" written on the back, layered over a black shihakusho. A pair of glasses rested on his face, giving him an intelligent and scholarly appearance.
