Car Accident

After leaving the campus, they found a parking spot and drove to the provincial guest house.

As the head of the Jiangzhou Municipal Party Committee, Paul Aime usually stayed at the Jiangzhou provincial office when he visited the provincial government. It was his own territory, making things much more convenient. However, due to intensive meetings, he was staying at the provincial guest house.

The provincial guest house, near the provincial party committee, is not open to the public. Penelope's car had an out-of-town license plate, so entry was restricted. Additionally, during the peak meeting period, parking was scarce. Penelope parked nearby, and they walked to the guest house.

While waiting for the traffic light across from the guest house, Penelope waved to someone and said, "That's my father's secretary, Wang Jian."

Zachary saw a man in his thirties waving from the opposite intersection, about a hundred meters away from the guest house entrance.

He thought, "This man is efficient. He knew we'd pass by. A deputy director-level leader coming this far to greet us? No wonder he's the municipal party committee head's secretary!"

The light turned green, and Penelope and Zachary walked towards the guest house. A red sports car sped toward the intersection, initially trying to beat the red light. When the driver realized they couldn't make it, they didn't slow down.

Zachary saw the car rushing towards them. He quickly pushed a pedestrian aside and pulled Penelope back.

Several pedestrians fell. Penelope cried out in pain.

Fortunately, no one was hit. The car nearly brushed Zachary's toes.

Wang Jian saw the car run the red light and the pedestrians fall. He ran across the street.

The sports car slowed down and stopped. Two young men in their twenties got out.

Zachary helped Penelope up, glaring at the two men. If not for his enhanced body, they would have been hit.

Wang Jian arrived, relieved they were unharmed, and glared at the men.

The two men, seeing no one was injured, became arrogant. They cursed, "How did you look at the road? You'll pay for hitting my car! You want to hit me? You were all knocked down by that jerk. Don't blame me!" They smelled of alcohol.

Zachary, furious, kicked one man to the ground. He kicked the other man down as well.

He said, "I've heard about people faking accidents, but this is ridiculous!"

During the term change meetings, they were speeding on this street, running red lights, and still acting arrogant.

The two men got up and rushed at Zachary. Zachary kicked one man four or five meters away. He didn't get up.

Two police officers arrived and asked, "What's going on?"

One man still tried to hit Zachary. Zachary kicked him again. The police officers twitched their eyes and yelled at Zachary, "What are you doing? Who are you? ID?"

Zachary said, "Officer, he rushed to hit me. I defended myself."

The police officers, having seen the scene, didn't press the matter.

A younger officer checked on the injured man. The older officer turned on his recorder and asked witnesses what happened, seemingly forgetting about the ID check.

Zachary smiled. The officers' actions showed their stance.

Another patrol car arrived. A man in a white shirt got out. Leaders were on duty due to the meetings.

One of the young men ran to the man in the white shirt, "Uncle Zhang, I'm Li Jun. Catch that man. We didn't hit anyone. They're trying to scam us. Liu Zheng was beaten by that man!"

The man in the white shirt frowned, moved away, and said, "Who are you? We'll check the video. We won't wrongly accuse anyone, but we won't let anyone go!"

Li Jun said, "My father is Li Gang. I've seen you with him."

Zachary, drinking water, nearly choked.
