Death [Edited]

"So dark… everything is so dark…" Mori mused, his consciousness floating in an endless void. His thoughts felt sluggish, weightless, as if detached from time itself. How long had it been? Days? Months? Years? He couldn't tell.

The only thing he remembered before this abyss swallowed him was finishing the last chapter of The God of High School. That story had been his escape, his dream. He had devoured every page, drawn into every battle, every moment of triumph and despair. The protagonist, Jin Mori, had been his idol—a warrior of limitless strength, unyielding will, and boundless potential.

It was ironic that he shared the same name: Jin Mori.

His thoughts cycled endlessly, trapped in an infinite loop of nostalgia and regret. What was this place? Was this what came after death? A prison of consciousness with no end? how did he even die in the first place?

"I wish I could live a life like him…" he whispered. A life of battle, of power, of defying fate itself.

As that thought solidified, a blinding light erupted before him. The darkness was obliterated in an instant, replaced by an overwhelming radiance. From within that storm of light emerged a figure—an entity of pure white, featureless yet exuding an immeasurable presence.

A voice, deep and resonant, echoed within his mind.

"What if you could?"

Mori's breath caught.

"What if you could live a life like Jin Mori? What if you could fight across the universe, wielding everything from the world of The God of High School? Renewal Taekwondo and Yeoui… Mira Yoo's Wolgwang Style Swordsmanship… Daewi Han's Kyokushin Karate and Borrowed Power… What if all of it could be yours?

Mori's thoughts halted, before even registering who said it that very statement sent excitement through his very soul, like igniting a campfire in the in a blizzard.

This wasn't a dream. It wasn't a hallucination. This was something beyond even reality itself.

A slow grin stretched across his face, wild and hungry.

"Me…?" he whispered, his voice trembling, not with fear, but with anticipation.

Then, his expression twisted into something feral, his voice rising with a manic energy.

"I'd become the strongest! God's, Demons, Angels, I'd claw my way through everything and anything! Women, Riches and power!"

The entity was silent for a moment before letting out a deep chuckle.

"Fascinating… For a mere mortal you have ambitions that surpass even that of Gods."

Mori's grin widened, excitement thrumming through his soul.

The entity's presence pressed against him like a tidal wave.

"Then how about this? I will grant you four wishes. However, I have one request."

Mori tilted his head. "And that is?"

"Grow stronger."

The words rang with the weight of a divine decree.

"I was just like you before, however I'm not from earth, I became stronger by killing the previous "God" that reigned before me and took his place. I fought my way to this position, I killed, I robbed, I stole, I healed, I saved. Eventually I ascended, I continued again and again until I finally reached where I am now, this life is lonely, I create beings that can wipe reality, I make heroes and villains, I define the very Omniverse itself yet they all would only think of me as their creator. That is why I figured I would use a soul from your world, you humans have a special ability, you're able visualize other worlds and universes in the form of "fiction" or as you would call it "Anime and Movies", I figured if anyone could become as strong as me, it would be someone with immense knowledge and imagination of the Omniverse while having the opportunity to grow stronger"

The words sent a rush of adrenaline through Mori. This wasn't just about power or survival anymore. This was his chance to finally live his dream, to ascend beyond limits and to become something greater than mortal.

His grin never wavered. "Fine. I accept."

"Then state your wishes, child."

Mori didn't hesitate. He knew exactly what he wanted.

"First, I want an infinite lifespan—not immortality, though. If I can't experience the fear of death, then what's the point of growing stronger?"

The entity chuckled. "Not something like Immortality? I'd assume humans find being undying a blessing."

"Humans are flawed creatures, if they learned that you exist they'd probably do whatever they can to research a way to obtain your Power or kill you" Mori stated.

"Second, I want a system—a system that tracks my strength and progress. It has to have a quest system, a shop system where I can buy martial arts, items, and powers from The God of High School universe and only that universe. It must also include multiversal travel."

The entity raised an eyebrow. "I expected you to ask for things like a Saiyan bloodline or reality warping skills"

Mori smirked. "That world was the peak of combat. I don't need anything else, regardless, I'll eventually become strong enough to do that either way"

The entity nodded. "Interesting choice. Continue."

"Third, I want unlimited talent. Whether it's combat, martial arts, energy control, spirit refinement—I want to be the pinnacle of potential."

The entity's amusement deepened. "no instant mastery or infinite deduction abilities like in other Fanfiction or Novels?"

"There's no point in vying for Omnipotence or immense power unless you're ready to die for it." Mori remarked as he thought about his last wish.

Mori took a deep breath before stating his final wish.

"Fourth, I want limitless growth. No bottlenecks. No ceiling to how strong I can become. If I train for a thousand years or fight a million battles, my strength must continue to increase without end. Oh, and while you're at it, add auxiliary skills like disguise, night vision, stealth—things that make survival easier."

The entity let out a sigh. "I already feel bad for what will happen in the future when you outgrow the world or universe's limits, try not to erase a world or universe unless necessary."

Mori grinned. "So, is that a yes?"

The entity exhaled, and in that moment, the void around them trembled.

"Very well. Your wishes are granted."

A surge of unimaginable comfort washed through Mori's soul, reshaping, evolving and changing, Just like how animal's evolve to survive in the sea, his soul is forcibly changing to accommodate his new abilites, normally he would be feeling an immensely heart wrenching pain but the Entity prevented that.

His soul was no longer ordinary. His once plain features shifted into something beyond mortal beauty—black, spiky hair resembling a wild flame, eyes with shimmering a single golden star embedded within them. He felt strong, fast, alive.

The entity's presence began to fade, its final words lingering in the void.

"As a bonus for entertaining me, I have given you a body akin to the fictional Jin Mori—only far more refined. Handsome, yet lethal. I look forward to your future, child."

The light engulfed Mori completely.

The next moment, he felt gravity.

He felt air.

He felt life.

And as he opened his star-filled eyes to a brand-new world, a single thought echoed in his mind.

"it feels great to be able to breathe again, I guess the "small things" in life really do matter..."
