Tanya Degurechaff POV
Arriving close to town, behind what appeared to be a tall building—possibly a residential one, as it did not seem to house corporate offices—Tanya assessed her surroundings. It wasn't very tall, at least compared to the buildings constructed in her previous lives. However, by climbing to the top, she could observe the area without being noticed.
Although she had nothing to reproach herself for, Tanya wanted to avoid being seen in her military uniform. How would this country react if an unknown soldier freely walked through its streets?
Now she needed to reach the top. Given the results of the flight spell, Tanya refused to consider that option. Climbing also seemed impossible, as the potential handholds were too far apart. With her small body, Tanya wouldn't be able to use them. Moreover, the building appeared to be at least ten meters high.
An idea suddenly came to mind, recalling her training during her early days in the army. A classmate had once jumped over the ammunition shed to sneak into town and drink at a bar with friends.
Of course, Tanya had reported the soldier at the time. "The army is an organization governed by rules. Not following them would lead to its downfall," she had thought back then.
However, the idea of using body reinforcement to overcome large obstacles wasn't a bad one.
Taking a few steps back to gain momentum, she strengthened her small legs as much as possible to maximize her jump. After a long breath, she sprinted forward. Reaching the building, she flexed her legs and leaped, managing to cling to the edge of the roof with both hands.
Once she hoisted herself to the top, Tanya moved to the opposite edge and began observing the city, particularly the street below.
Tanya was amazed at what she saw. The city was vast, and its architecture was completely different from what she had known in her previous lives. Simple geometric shapes defined the buildings, most of which were white. The most astonishing detail was that the city had developed in the middle of a forest, surrounded by towering trees Tanya had noticed upon arrival. In the distance, she could make out an amusement park, complete with a roller coaster and Ferris wheel. The roads, however, were neither tarred nor paved; instead, well-kept grass allowed people to move around.
Sweeping her gaze across the city, Tanya noticed plumes of smoke rising into the sky. Looking in that direction, she saw that some buildings were partially or completely destroyed.
"Is this world also at war?" Tanya wondered.
Suddenly, several screams rose from the street below, disrupting her thoughts. Glancing down, she saw that the street was also partially destroyed. Several men were running in all directions—some clearing rubble, others tending to the wounded who moaned weakly on the ground.
The common trait among these men was their uniform. It closely resembled the sailor uniform worn by soldiers of the Imperial Navy. Their navy blue pants were paired with a white shirt that buttoned on the side. A small, lighter blue scarf secured the collar. Finally, a cap rested on their heads, bearing the inscription "MARINE." Some soldiers also wore coats draped over their shoulders, emblazoned with the word "justice."
One individual particularly caught Tanya's attention. Sitting on the rubble near the remains of a fountain, this man appeared gigantic, even while seated. He seemed to be nearly three meters tall. His size wasn't the only thing that distinguished him; his attire also set him apart from the other soldiers.
His pants and shirt featured vertical stripes in two different shades of yellow. Like the others, he wore a white coat over his shoulders, with yellow sleeve ends and "justice" inscribed on the back.
At first glance, he seemed to be the commander of the men in the street. As if to confirm Tanya's hypothesis, a soldier appeared before him and saluted.
They began discussing, but Tanya was too far away to hear their conversation. After a few minutes, the soldier saluted the yellow-clad man again and left, presumably to relay orders to his squad.
"He must be passing on instructions from the man in yellow," Tanya thought, refocusing on the latter, who stood up in an incredibly nonchalant manner. Though too distant to hear, Tanya could guess he was sighing from the effort.
Once on his feet, he extended his arm and pulled back his left sleeve slightly, revealing a small device attached to his wrist.
After a few seconds, the man in yellow began speaking into it. Tanya concluded that it had to be some kind of radio transmitter.
Admiral Borsalino Kizaru POV
The day had been exhausting. Originally deployed to the Sabaody Archipelago for an emergency, Kizaru's mission was to eliminate a direct threat posed by a small group of pirates targeting the Celestial Dragons.
On his way, Kizaru encountered resistance—some pirates and a few Supernovas had attempted to challenge him. However, as expected, none could match his strength or the powers of his Devil Fruit: the Pika Pika no Mi. In addition to its immense destructive capabilities, the fruit allowed him to move at the speed of light. To top it off, his body had become intangible, making it nearly impossible for most of the world's inhabitants to land a hit on him.
Despite this power, Kizaru was frustrated. Although he had apprehended many pirates, the primary targets of his mission had managed to escape. If not for the intervention of the Dark Lord, Silver Rayleigh, the capture of the Straw Hat crew could have been accomplished today.
Bartholomew Kuma, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, had claimed responsibility for their capture, assuring Kizaru he had taken care of them personally. However, with no prisoners or corpses to show for it, Kizaru doubted his assertion.
As he reflected on these recent events, preparing his report and watching his men tend to the wounded, his thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of his Den Den Mushi.
Den Den Mushi:
Poudé Poudé Poudé Poudé
Poudé Poudé Poudé Poudé
gatcha
Kizaru: "Mochi Mochi? Kizaruuu speaking. To whom do I have the honor?"
Voice through Den Den Mushi: "Kizaru, this is Sengoku. What is the situation in the Sabaody Archipelago?"
Kizaru: "Ohhh Sengoku-san, everything is under control again. The vast majority of pirates have been defeated or apprehended."
Sengoku: "And the Tenryuubito? (Heavenly Dragons) How are they?"
Kizaru: "They're alive but unconscious. They're already en route to Mary Geoise aboard a medical frigate. According to the doctors, they should wake up within a few hours."
Sengoku: "What about Monkey D. Luffy and his crew?"
Kizaru: "It's pretty annnoying, Sengoku-san. I couldn't get my hands on them. Silver Rayleigh interfered in our fight. So I don't know their status. Bartholomew Kuma assured me he had taken care of it."
Following this announcement, a short silence settled. But it was quickly interrupted by laughter. At the same time, a soldier stood at attention before the admiral, waiting to report.
Sengoku: "Shut up, Garp! Kizaru, I need you back at Marineford. The Impel Down prison transfer for Portgas D. Ace will happen soon. I need your presence to finalize the execution preparations. Aokiji is already on his way, and Sakazuki is already there."
Kizaru: "Received, Sengoku-saaaan. I'm already on my way."
As soon as Kizaru acknowledged his orders, the communication ended.
